  1. This thread is addressed to AWJ, but I couldnt help myself answering it. If your timing broke, you MIGHT damaged other parts of the engine. Secondly, all the mark and referrence points are messed up. I would take it to a professional. Timing get pretty complex and if not done right, you will waste a whole day of work.
  2. U should not have done that. You burned your pump by running it dry. Secondly, the pump spin doesnt mean its good. The motor might (or was) good, but the seal might be bad.
  3. To test the fuel is flow or not. There are two site you can attack. The return line right by the fuel pressure regulator near the throttle body and loose the screw and turn the on... the pump should eject fuel out from the loosen screw.. if you see fuel... then your pump is working.... How much pressure is it produce is another story.. u have dont have a fuel gauge and there is no way of finding it out..... The fuel pump is behind the rear seat... remove the rear seat to get access to the fuel pump.... This article might help http://www.lextreme.com/FMU%20Article.htm
  4. Possible problem: 1. MAF 2. ECU 3. Fuel system There is an article in my site has diagnosis with symptom at www.lextreme.com/misc.htm Good luck. Have a friend with a 1990-1994 LS400 and try to switch parts and test things out. What does OBDI say? Any check engine light?
  5. The Inline 6 have some much room and turboing it would be much easier than superchargering. Secondly, psi vs. psi comparision. turbo will make more horse power and earlier power. SC300 = Turbo SC400 = Supercharged
  6. I got Phil's book on the conversion. I would like to sell it. Its original. PM me if you are interested half price.
  7. Had the same problem with my LS400. I changed the torque converter and everything is cool now.

  9. Stock is 251 cc/min, new Supra MKIII is 440 cc/min. The thing i am happy about is not the size, rather we manage to run low impedance injectors in a high impedance car and saved hundreds. <7 psi - Stock Injectors 8-12 Supra MKIII N/A 295 cc 12-15 Supra MKIII N/A 315 cc. The above 3 injectors are plug and play. 15-18 psi MKIII Turbo injectors 440 cc/min (slight mod) 18-22 psi Mazada Rx7 550 cc. (just the clip)
  10. Hey Gang, Did this in my car and i would like to share it with you to save you some money. I upgraded my car with MKIII Supra Turbo injectors 7MGTE 440cc/min. Modifications and saved almost one thousand from this setup. Enjoy and let me know what u think? http://www.lextreme.com/R&D%20Injector.htm
  11. get a low mileage engine instead of repairing the cams. I have cams at home and other engine parts...
  12. I assume they might be the same as the GS300 and the SC300. Not sure.
  13. Any smoke from the tail pipes? Does the car make excessive noise with quick turns? Any smoke from the engine? Check the oil dipstick and see if it look normal or not. Give us more info, so we can help u dx the problem.
  14. You can also just buy the repair kit. The seal kit runs about $120. Lexus OEM product. If you P/S pump is out, you should hear noise when u do quick turns.
  15. Hardcore oldschool first generation with twin turbo.
  16. Hard to say, you are seeing the end result. Oil will drain to the lowest point. It could be bunch of things. I would say, clean up the oil with Gunk and left the car up and start the engine and let it run and monitor the leak. Good luck
  17. It might be your power steering pump too. If you are looking for rebuilt rack and pinion. I have connection.
  18. I would work, but dont waste your money. I really dont think it help at all.
  19. Nice....love the color, love the body kit and rag top..... Now, if we just put in some source of Forced Induction would be perfect and along with a 6 speed. My dream would be twin turbo V8 with 6 speed on a SC400
  20. Ok, Here is the second generation LS400 Dx Codes. http://www.lextreme.com/Lexobdiicode.pdf
  21. You have to ask the owner what was the rebuild process involved. In my opinion, it would cost more money to rebuild the 1UZ than getting a low mileage motor. OEM parts are expensive. I got a 40k engine for $450. The price you mentioned is little high for that year. Look around little more. If you are into fixer upper, I have seen $2800. Good luck
  22. www.lextreme.com/misc.htm its there
  23. Few supra guys are putting in the 1UZ into their MKIII 7M body. Love to see more.... Our site is little hardcore for some of you, but lots of info.
  24. I agree with AWJ. You have to pay to play. However, it will cost a lot more to pay to in order to play with Lexus. Here are my answers to your questions: 1. Demand and Supply: Lexus owners are into luxuries and smoothness of the ride. Not loud, rude horse power like the mustangs. Its just not a muslce car. The demand for performance is just too low for any medium to large company to invest time and money in. 2. The V8s are so well design and made, space for Forced Induction is very difficult. 3. Money is the last factors. Now the older lexus are affortable to younger buyers. However, young buyers are into looks. Therefore, most of their money are allocated to Rims, Body Kits, HID lights and Audio system. If the above is priority, go fast money would be gone. The above three factors are what i have been seeing. People want go fast stuffs, but not willing to pay for it. However power is expensive. You have to willing to pay to obtain HP.
