  1. sounds like you need a new pump. no power. I replaced mine with a reman pump and the system works fine. same noisy as before. but fine. I have no other advice other than take it to a mechanic. You aren't going to be able really tell anything by taking the hose from the rez. the rez will drain on you and I'm not sure what the return rate is on it. I don't know of a spring in the rack either. Or a any soelenoid on the 95. But you are sc400, mine is 300. Might be different... I recommend the factory service manuals. I'll look in mine if I find some time. I can't promise anything though. You got no flow. If the pump was working and a high pressure block was going on, you would hear it and the engine would load down, but the wheels will turn or the pulley will stop and burn the accessory belt in two.
  2. Be advised, altering the emission system of your engine is illegal if it will be used on the road. Florida is probably not a problem. Neither is my state. You know there is a little cotton or fabric filter in the top of the egr modulator? It can be cleaned or removed. If you want to compeletely remove egr, there are some options. Overprice plates from performance houses or the e-bay specials. They appear to all be the same. I chose to drill and tap the bottom plate for the oem temperature sensor or thermocouple as us industrial people call them. Joined vacuum lines in places on the same ciruit simply bypassing the egr valve and modulator connections and capping the vsv for egr line, acutally just tied it right back to the intake and plugged the signal line. I even left the vsv switch off even though I bought a new one when I broke the old one while working on it. I have not hard loaded the vehicle since this recent work. I have started it several times, brought it to operating temperature and drove it around the block. No mil ... yet. EGR is not necessary but will effect emissions. I have heard cars with bypassed egr can pass emissions with some tricks. Legal or not. I can't advise on this.
  3. I have heard reports of remanufactured power steering pumps not working at all. Disconnect your high pressure line at the rack and see if you have fluid if you are up for making a mess. Otherwise, I'd say your pump is crap. I just replaced mine with a reman pump also, it works, but wines just as bad as the old one.
  4. you already have the 6 speed? Use it.
  5. Congrats! When did you order them? How long did it take them to come in? I'm having a little problem with my wheels order... I'm curious what others turnaround has been... waiting for those pics too bro... post it...
  6. 600 ponies no prob. drop compression with mhg and rock it on a 73. thanks bro
  7. probably the ac compressor. not cheap. but it's normal for idle to raise when the ac is turned on. How much? is the question.
  8. I'd like to do more. But I think I'm just going to bolt it back up. The need for boost is taking over...
  9. So Mary, Lexus offered a pebble beach edition of the SC430. It came with a Pebble Beach Company golf bag. I can only assume it will fit in the SC430 trunk. I have not had any luck locating one though. Perhaps you may. Good luck.
  10. I read that way back. I've worked at car dealerships. Seen some pretty clever stuff. Also some pretty unhappy people. I stay away. Although, I must say, some smaller private lots, are on the up.
  11. Sorry Mary. That's a new one to me. Let me do a little digging on that. It's interesting. I know that is the complaint of most golfers. Can't get the bag into the trunk of those things. Or not two of them or something like that. Lets check it though.
  12. Yea +20 is no good. Avoid them. You should run a 45 to 50 ideally. 35 is the max you can do, and it will rub. Change the way the car tracks. Up to you. But I would say, look elsewhere.
  13. on the 2jz, the ps pump, alternator, and ac compressor all are adjustable slightly in their brackets. I'm sure one or all of those are adjustable slightly with 1uz as well. Any and all of these can produce the effects. Regardless, it doesn't sound like a big deal.
  14. your belt tensioner may be not so strong any more.
  15. It is a great deal. But I must say, the engine is not quite the same. It is still the 2jz-ge, yes. But, the 1998 will have vvti - I think. This means weaker conneting rods. It's really no problem until you want to run 12 pounds of boost. So it will be a great car for the price. Even if you have to replace a few things.
  16. sc300targatop, you will need to register as a vendor to promote any service for profit here. Contact Matt McNally if you are interested. Streamline, Steve Ganz of Carson Toyota in Cali and Curt Aigner of Elmhurst Toyota in Ill. can set you up right. If you just want OEM front rotors, I will send you mine if you cover shipping COD. They need to be turned and sandblasted. 60,000 on them when I took them off. All 4 if you want them. Heavy stuff. Send e-mail if interested.
  17. Take the hose to Napa and tell them to rig you up something. E-bay.
  18. Really!?!? wbb1772, do yourself a favor and type turbo in our search feature. You will find all you need to make an intelligent decision. Good luck.
