  2. Ever since i bought my car sc300 my reverse light never worked. I have a 92 sc 300 and the person who i bought it from upgraded it to the new 97 sc300 tail lights. They also did the mod to change the electrical current so that the new 97's taillights would work. When i go in reverse, the reverse lamps don't turn on. I took out the rear tail light housing just to find that the blubs were still good. I look at the filament and it is still in-tack. So it just leads me to believe it is the wiring. If anyone else has had this problem or may have an idea to the solution to get these puppies working let me know. Thanks in advance.
  3. Sorry i know this is in the wrong forum, but i couldn't post on the buy and sell forum. I just wanted know if anyone has a SC300 97+ bumper they are willing to part with.   4. Just thought i would let everyone know. I found out what the problem was. Thanks to the help of SKperformance, and my other friends, the ballasts wasn't getting enough power. So, i just added a relay that got power straight from the battery instead of the 9006 connectors and bam everything powered up. So, it wasn't my ballasts after all. Hopefully this helps other people that have hid's that are having the same problem as me. Instead of using the OEM 9006 connectors just buy a relay and some 14 gauge wire and hook it straight to the battery so you get enough juice.   5. Thanks SKperformance.... Ill try swaping the blubs and seeing if it works, but from the sound of it i think your right. Does anyone have an extra phillips ballast laying around... Happy to take it off your hands... hehehe
  6. Hey Guys... Yesterday on my way home i noticed that my right headlight didn't turn on. I have the Philip's HID conversion setup. For some reason, the right headlight just blinks, when i try to turn it on. The left side warms up just fine and turns on. I have no idea what is wrong. PLEASE HELP :cries:
  7. No... im am replacing the lsd with whatever tranny i do decide to get. If i do get the r154 i will get the rear diff from a MKIII supra turbo and if i decide to install the v160 ill get the MKIV supra TT rear diff. But i think im going to sell the v160. I just drove a r154, can i can't tell that much of a difference. A lot of my friends who just did 2jz swaps in their cars both got the r154 and they are very happy with it. I am not looking for more then prolly 450rwhp. I will be happy at 400rwhp. So i think the r154 will do wonders for me. Thanks sc300ccret for your input
  8. On my 92 SC300, my switchs are bad. I have to really pull back on the switch for the driver's window to come up, going down is fine. I also have a bad switch for my unlock button. I can lock the car just fine, but when i try to unlock the doors, i have to press on the unlock switch multiple times just for it to open. But if your winodw doesn't roll down or up at all, you might want to check the motor just like chubacabra said... good luck and Hope you find the problem :D
  9. I just wanted to say thank you for all your input. I still want to see try to test drive both tranny to find out how notchy it really is. A lot of my friends have the r154 and love it, but i think it could be that they are all supra mk III guys. Well i have a chance to drive both trannies this weekend. I am on a budget... and want something that is practical for everyday use. I am not into dragging the cars.. but i would like to take it to the track later on in the future... so i just want a good all around tranny that can handle about 400 hp. I just don't want a tranny cuz of the bragging rights, i would like to keep it if it is actually practical to spend the rest of the money to get the rear diff, axles, etc... Thanks for everyone's input... New to the club and i already feel very welcome.... thanks guys...
  10. I currently have the 92 SC300 with a 2JZ-GTE (JDM) motor. I currently have the w58 tranny (Stock 5sp SC tranny) I already have a v160 (Getrag 6sp tranny) ready to install just need to pick up the rear diff off a Supra TT, but a lot of people have been telling me to sell the v160 and get the r154 (Stock 5sp tranny for the 1JZ-GTE 2.5 TT). They tell me that the r154 is a lot cheaper and can handle just as much power as the v160 with less shifting. I'm looking to get around 400hp, 500hp at max to the wheels. Does anyone else have this setup either the v160 or the r154 and if so what is your opinion on them?
  11. Well i finally found the problem, the connection between the parking lights and the fog lights were not securely tightened, the wires were loose and therefore the lights weren't turning on. Thanks for all the help everyone especially lovlex....
  12. Yup Its legal.. unless you did what I did... get the 2JZ-GTE (JDM) no egr :chairshot: .... hehehehehe. As long as you stick with the 2JZ-GTE (USDM) you are good to go :D A little off topic.... sorry don't mean to thread jack... but BlackSC4, what what kind of tranny do you have. As of right now I have the w58 tranny and rear dif... I do also have the 6sp getrag v160 tranny waiting to be installed, but was wondering if i should install the v160 or sell it and get the 5sp r154 tranny. I have heard mixed things about it and was wondering if you could shed some light on the matter. A lot fo the people i talk to say that the r154 is an excellent tranny and can hold almost as much as the v160 and on top of that i wouldn't have to shift gears as much. But we all know how good the v160 is. Please let me know your opinion on the matter
  13. Hey LovLex... What do you mean when the light is on dim. I tried jus the parking light and then tried to use the interior dim light lol. But i was lookin at the wires connected to the relay and it is hooked up to the parking light. So i figure that it would be activated by the parking light. If you have any more insight that would be great. Thanks for the help

  15. I have a 92 SC300 that i just bought from another person here on the boards. He already did the mod to keep the turning lamps on whenever the headlights are on. For some reason, the turning lamps do not turn on when the headlights are on. The previous owner said that they were working before. I checked the fuses and blubs, but they all checked out. Has anyone had this problem too? The only thing left is either the wiring which looks right, or the relays? Can anyone shine some light on this topic?
