  1. You need new brake pads, and since that light is on, I believe the sensor itself needs to be replaced also. Log on to lexus.com/owners to order a new owners manual for no charge. ;)
  2. The white ones look pretty nice, but the luxmods site shows that the package doesn't include all of the lights for the interior... we would need 2 more dome lights (for the housing with the sunroof controls....3 total) and the 2 lights over each of the rear doors. How much should we add for the rest of the lights?
  3. Jason told me the same thing that Wanda said as far as which engines are interferance and which ones aren't, and that's good enough for me! :)
  4. Yeah, we're fine!! ;) We didn't even get water in our house, and the electricity came back today! We only suffered minor wind damage, to the roof mainly(the satellite was sucked right off of the roof...it's pretty funny! lol). There is a big hurricane thread in the LS forum (I don't really post much in the ES forum anymore since I hardly drive it.). We were very, very lucky! Thanks so much for your conern! -Blake
  5. That's pretty funny! He never did say if the !Removed! is included or not in the Q & A. And what's with the lp drilled to the trunk lid?
  6. That PN checked out with newlexusparts.com, and it's a lot cheaper! I tried to attach the url, but it wouldn't work, so I'll attach a screen shot. The other items they mentioned are certainly plausable for an almost 10y/o car. Depending on your car's mileage, I'd really look in to the timing belt, so that you don't end up stuck on the side of the road one day.
  7. more power ← ...and better fuel econ, but the power is, wow!! The quintessential wolf in sheep's clothing!
  8. The other day on the hwy, I had the cruise set on 80, and then, the car starts jumping back and forth between 70-75 in a jumpy motion...then down to 60. I cut the cruise, and she maintained 80 perfectly. I haven't used the cruise since. Also, the speedometer doesn't work when the car is first started (I'm not talking about the lighting but the actual speed reading.). A thump over the dash where the cluster is housed gets it going. And starting the other day, the ECT PWR light comes on when I turn on the headlights regardless of what postion the switch is in. The car is a '94 with 135k miles, currently has a cel for an o2 sensor. The car runs and shifts beautifully and looks even better in and out, but I swear all of the electrical problems this thing has had... Any guesses?? The only thing that comes to mind is the ECU or the cluster itself.
  9. Spend 16 months in prison, and you tend to learn all about these types of things! j/k I should have seen what I set myself up for when I posted that.
  10. I use a Swiffer. It works great! I would imagine the towel you are describing is a microfiber. You should be ok using the microfiber on the interior.
  11. Congrats, those are really sharp looking cars!! B) I would imagine your X5 is easier to work on...Lexus is among the worst in that department. Enjoy your new car!
  12. NC, primo has a '93, so he's using OBDI codes. ;)
  13. You might want to try PMing 93LSOwner. He's been gone for a while (I guess he's been busy with school.), but he is a Photoshop expert. He edited some pics of my car, and they looked great!
  14. Not all the time. Requesting numerous continuances is actually a pretty common defense tactic. Cops here sure as hell wouldn't show up to trail for a petty speeding ticket they gave 6-12 months ago, and when he doesn't show, it's tossed out. I actually know a handfull of people this worked for. Some counties/parishes allow you to just pay a speeding ticket, and they won't pass it on to the insurance...that's nice!! Or, it's always convienent to have a friend in the dept! I was depressed when a friend of mine who was a cop moved away since he's fixed a few tickets for us. lol Do all states have a point system?? I've never heard any mention of points here. It depends on what the cop wrote on your ticket. You're right about the moving violations...non moving would be something like old inspection stickers, tint violations, parking, no proof of insurance/registration, etc.
  15. Here's to NOPD's absolute finest: http://www.sparkvideos.com/policelootersvideo.shtml .....is that not absolutely unreal??? :o
  16. I found this very interesting! I have more time than I know what to do with right now, so I compared the prices. Ebay auction for the lights: -BIN price of $36.88 add $14.95 shipping, comes to: $51.83 Park Place Lexus (Plano): -Turn Signal lens: $38.54 x 2 = $77.08 -Orange side marker lens: $38.02 x 2 = $76.04 Total: $153.12 $153.12/$51.83=~2.95 That's roughly a 3:1 price ratio, so Steve, you were right on, Chris can replace them once a year for 3 years instead of one set of OEM lenses! ;) Wow! :o Gotta love Lexus prices! University, I would try http://www.car-part.com. Also try: http://www.taprecycling.net/modules.php?na...file=emaillexus For OEM parts try: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...m?siteid=213808 http://www.discounttoyotaparts.com/ http://www.irontoad.com (give them a try, they pick and choose which parts they'll sell through the mail.) Consider it your lucky day that you didn't get a ticket! Regardless of the other motorist's speed, it sounds like you turned in front of him-violating his right-of-way. I know a few people who have been in accidents like this, and they were demed at fault and ticketed.
  17. That's my problem too. Even if I would just change the outter part, the plastics wouldn't match the OE ones since they are very dark and the after market ones are very light in color.
  18. Wow, DC! You nailed all of the issues!! I can't stand it when I go to WalMart, and the able-bodied people in front of me have two buggies overflowing with items. Then, they whip out the good ole food stamp card, and their troubles are over. Now, here's where the interesting part comes, the car in which they unload $200-$300 of items. I would think it would be some jalopy that barely made it in to the parking lot. Wrong! It's a brand new, high end car like an Escalade, Navigator, 300C, etc. all have expensive 20+" rims. I guess when your housing and food is taken care of, you can buy things like that. I think the media got a little carried away with the comment on the prisions releasing the inmates. It's just too hard to believe. I also saw a story on the news that said there was a hostage situation involving firefighters and their families. As it turns out, the building in which this was supposed to be taking place was under water. Gotta love the media!! Kayne is missing the facts. In Orleans parish, white people are the minority, and in that minority, the vast majority are middle class and up, so they can afford to evacuate. So, statistically, the majority of the looters you'll see on tv will be black. My sentiments exactly!!!!!
  19. LOL It's just my opinion, so I think the world is still ok!! :D I'm going off of Nissan's current line-up. I was truely shocked when I looked at Titans, Pathfinder Armadas, Xterras, 350z, etc. They are all tiny inside. The Titan is a massive looking vehicle, but the seat travel was severely lacking...same goes for the PA. The Altima is the only decent Nissan as far as my comfort ratings go. 300zx tt....definantly!!! B) Interior dimensions, interior volume, and exterior dimensions notwithstanding, the first sentence in the above quote is the most important thing in a car to me-seat travel. I'd much rather have a little more travel than not enough! The greenhouse effect does very little for me...our ES has an absolutely superb greenhouse, but that doesn't change anything about its lack of legroom. I was only speculating about the DeVille/DTS. I've never driven one, but I do like their style. I've driven a relative's '03 Town Car numerous times, and it's very comfortable. The 98-02 TC's dimensions weren't as good-head room is superb, but the legroom isn't too stellar. The legroom in the old W123s is great. Your S600 was like 1-2 years old when you got rid of it and very low mileage. How do you know that it wouldn't last a while?
  20. I'm 3 or 4 inches tall than you, so I can see why! ;) lol I used to wonder what as in my head as far as which vehicle has more space than the next too, but when I'm unable to reach the pedals, that tells me something huge (excuse the pun). I can slide the seat all the way back and be unable to reach the pedals in the '03 S430 I drove...the LS430 is just not close to the seat travel a S class has...that's a shame too since the LS430's seats are truely unreal-one of the best seats I've sat in. Of any manufacture as a whole, I'd have to say Nissan is the absolute worst as far as legroom is concerned. Crown vic with wood....
  21. I'm not holding my breath for more head and legroom with the LWB option on the new LS. Europeans have a completely different ideaology than the Japanese as far as legroom is concerned. The '04 Saab 9-3 I sat in the other day has more head and legroom than my LS. I was really awestruck that this little tin can has acres more legroom than a car atleast 2x its size. It's really a shame that such a perfect car like the LS has a short comming for me. I can't wait to see a DTS in person...I think it's a pretty sharp looking car from the pictures I've seen. I wonder if it just might be a little to far out there for their usual clientel. lol I forgot to add a current MB CL class to my list of possibilities since that is one of the most amazing cars in my book...CL65 AMG wow!!! B)
  22. My next car will not be a Lexus, and it's not because I don't love the quality and reliability of mine. I am 6'4, and Lexus simply doesn't accomidate drivers over 6'1 or so like Mercedes, BMW, Lincoln, or Cadillac does. The LS430 is the most comfortable Lexus yet, but it's still no where near the competition at MB. I really like the new DTS, I've always loved the Town Car, and the current S500 is timeless and is the most roomy car I've ever driven. I love them all, so I guess an extensive test drive and who's more comfortable will decide. I'll never get rid of my '95 though! B)
  23. Steve, you make sure that you and your fiance keep alert....these people are crazy and ruthless from a number of factors. ;)
