  1. I absolutely love these erasers. They are probably the best thing since sliced bread...no joke!! There are pictures floating around this forum of my interior when I spent $3 on a 4 pack of magic erasers! My seats/console/doors went from dark brown to light tan like they are supposed to be! I also used them to clean the dirt off of the driver's airbag and shifter knob (I thought I was going to have to replace the knob!). A fine, fine product!
  2. The Apple store offers 20%-30% off for students. I don't know if you'll find better prices on ipods straight from the factory. Here's the link: http://store.apple.com/1-800-780-5009/WebO...AOSA10000008186 Fill in the info to find your school, and it will redirect you to the Apple Store with the adjusted prices for students.
  3. I'm not so sure I'd see any improvements since my car is operating just like new with excellent fuel economy and 0-60 times that are in accordance with the factory specifications. Sometime in the future, I might just change it for the hell of it!
  4. I haven't, and I'm riding on a fuel filter that has 264k miles on it!
  5. You should have waited to do the ignition while you were working on the timing belt since most of the igniton parts have to come back out to do the timing belt! ;) Here is a link for some info on the cam and crank seals: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=19816&hl= Your W210 is just breath taking!!! B)
  6. I know each person can do what he wants with their car, but I can't resist bashing him for not putting $200 aside to have Walker or Mikado put a new climate control LCD in before plunking down serious dinero for those "dubs" and yards and yards of Gucci upholstry. I love that AutoZone steering wheel cover job!! I get dizzy just from looking at that headliner; it reminds me of a Magic Eye puzzle! lol
  7. I noticed the Ultra Lux package is gone for '06. I wonder what that deal is?
  8. I never have. I need to find one to drive for comparison!
  9. I think he's talking about the $400/strut for the remanufactured Arnott struts; I'd definantly buy them since they come with a lifetime warranty. I think the traditional strut conversion is like $800-$900; I'd put up a little more to keep the air ride!
  10. Caddy DeVille has an excellent rear with one of the best executed led tail lamps ever (damn, look at the trunk gaps though. Shame on you GM.). B) The W220 Mercedes is very near the top of my list also.
  11. Congrats! ;) I noticed your car has 95-97 chrome rims, do you know why? Always, always, always keep a coat of wax on your car since us black onyx guys don't enjoy the privilege of a clearcoating. I see she's wearing Michelin Energy tires; you'll love them! Enjoy your great new car for hundreds of thousands of miles to come!!
  12. I recently had to start wearing glasses. I went with Transition lens, and I love them! It's so great to not have to switch my rx glasses with rx sunglasses or have to put one of those sun glass clips on. They are expensive though. These lens costed about $180 (for single vision and astigmatism Rx) which could get you a great pair of traditional, non Rx sunglasses. I'm sure they can be found on the internet for cheaper, but this is something I didn't want to gamble $50 or $75 on. I've got a few pairs of RayBans and Oakleys (enough for Sunglasses Hut to send me $40 off a pair of glasses each year in a birthday card. lol). I love my RayBan glasses better for casual wearing, but the Oakleys are much better at staying on my face when I'm moving around. You can't go wrong with either!
  13. It's wonderful to see you back Ralph!! I'm glad your house is ok! I wish I would of known that you were in Shreveport...I'm right down the road in Ruston. Robert, I'll take you up on that offer one of these days!
  14. My car ended up fixing itself. A few days after the light came on, it went off after I put the car in second gear and went about 70mph. I guess there was something messing with the o2 sensors, and the high rpms blew it out. The cel hasn't come back. A 420 and a 430 can also indicate bad o2 sensors not just cat problems. You should check your o2 sensors before replacing the cats. ;)
  15. I don't know if I can talk you out of that! I've spent several hours at the helm of a '00 GS300, and I can't say enough great things about the car! They are actually very roomy inside. The ride is very smooth, but it handles well at the same time. They look great inside and out. I'd just steer clear of the 300 since they are like every other Lexus 6 cylinder, and they don't spring to life until 4,000+ rpms. The V8 model is a completely different story though! It's a tough call!
  16. WOW, that is unreal, I love it! Superb work!
  17. I'm just curious, what kind of trouble did you have with a very small taped screw driver? I've pulled that piece of wood up well over 15 times for various reasons in the past 18 months without a single problem using the screw driver. I'm more afraid of the a/c vents since they feel so brittle. lol This is what I've used numerous times with great success (as you can see, it's nothing special at all)...
  18. LOL I took a similar piture of my car at some property that we have. I don't really take it off road though; atvs are more fun offroad!
  19. I use M1 synthetic 10w30 with an OEM Toyota filter (the car has 260k+ miles).
  20. Yeah, it says "CARFAX Advisory: This vehicle was registered in a county declared a flood disaster area by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA )." I'm still shocked that doesn't have any mention of the body work I had done last year. <_< I should email carfax to let them know that Louisiana is f-ed up, so we don't have counties. The only thing I can think of is maybe you made a typo and pi$s got mixed in!
  21. I would have no reservations about going with a remanufactured strut from Arnott. $400 per strut plus shipping is just great; not to mention the lifetime warranty. They are oem struts that are rebuilt to new specs. http://www.arnottindustries.com/parts_Lexu...400__yid65.html
  22. The light blue one is very 5 series BMW, but I kinda like it. I like the two shots of the silver ones. I've driven 1990-2005 models, and they are all too similar. Revised sheetmetal, reduced nvh levels, slightly different interiors, and a few new gadets is how each LS generation has evolved. I'm ready to see a real "new" LS series. I hope to see a big V8, a lwb option (I remember reading somewhere that it might only be available as a hybrid; I sure hope not.), and driver area dimensions that can compete with the German competition. Otherwise, we will be dealing with yet more of the same from the LS...not that it's a bad thing (although it is a bit boring), and it seems to work since it has class leading sales (correct me if I'm wrong).
  23. I wouldn't be worried with only 175k miles on the car. Highway miles are the best kind to have! My car was not maintained for 225,000 miles (it has 260k+ now), and it runs and drives better than most cars on the road. The only suspension problems I've had were cracked strut rod bushings. I'd also be concerned with oil leaks (valve covers, cam and crank) and power steering issues (my pump was already changed, and my rack has a slow leak now. ugh). I wouldn't have any reservations about buying the car. I bought my '95 with 224k miles, and it had 2 service recipts (1 for ps pump and lines, and 1 for front rotors and pads. None of those 5k services and/or 30k/60k/90k/etc.). The test drive just went too well (ran and drove perfectly) for me to pass it up! 40,000 miles later, I've never been stranded or never made any maditory repairs (just cosmetic work mainly, strut rods, and fluids). LSs are very long lasting cars even with their little nagging issues.
  24. I can see this as an entirely plausible speculation. The rims/tires are most likely heavier than the stock setup in conjunction with the larger footprint of the 17s; I can see some power lost in that equation. ;) My guess is that your tires are fine since you mentioned a clunk although it is entirely possible that they are bad, but something in the suspension componetry has to be faulty since there is a clunk. I can be your get-away driver if you want, I already have a ski mask! lmao
  25. Robert, they're not that expensive!! ;) I found them online for about a buck twenty a piece which is about $20 less than tirerack.com: http://www.ec-securehost.com/OnlineTires.c..._MXV4_Plus.html
