  1. I'm not interested in getting in to this one, but I've yet to read or hear anything bad about the new Hyundais/Kias. Kias and Hyundais were questionable 10 years ago, but I'm not sure I believe that still stands as true today. Yall see the new Sonata? That's a really sharp looking little car car.
  2. I think it's 15 posts. You're almost there!
  3. Walmart is pretty much the only place to go grocery shopping here in a small, hick town of less than 20k people. ;) Yeah, I'd have to agree that MB always has some of the best looking cars on the road!
  4. Am I serious? Like a heart attack. Depending on how frozen yours is, you might need to tap it a few times with a hammer and screw driver to break it loose. The reason mine broke was because I misinterpreted some pictures that were in this forum (it had absolutely nothing to do with the method I used to take it off.). I can't wait to hear about the official method....I mean your method.
  5. If it's a ticking kind of noise, maybe a loose plug or crack in the egr pipe...
  6. That's because of Consumer Reports mostly. What's the first thing someone does when looking at cars?? You go to Barnes and Noble and pick-up the auto issue. They are so damn biased towards the Japanese it's unreal. JD Power seems to be a little more balanced. It's about time Ford get's some good press! What troubles me though, why is Ford so much higher up than Lincoln and Mercury? They are all the same damn cars. Where is that chart from by the way? Mitsubishi made the top 10, now that's a joke! I'd consider public transit before a mitsubishi! LOL I'm suprised to see that Honda is all over the place with the pp100 vehicles...20-90...that's not too hot. I'll never understand the way that American car companies price their cars. The MSRPs they come with are truly humorus. I mean, a F150 King Ranch can be loaded up to $45k. Granted, you can expect $10k-$15k off of that sticker, but why not just price them so that the stickers aren't retardedly high, and by retardedly high, I mean not as expensive as a flippin brand new GS300! LOL
  7. That would be one helluva drive Ohio-->Sacramento!! ;) Where are you posting from in "The Natural State?" Monarch, you just get your channel locks and start wrenching on that bad boy! Look by the pressure valve assembly, there is one electrical connector to unplug then the solenoid comes unscrewed. We actually broke the solenoid in my car in the midst of taking it off....they're easy to fix so long as you don't destroy the wiring! Mine was actually pretty clean, not nearly as dirty as the pictures that I've seen posted here on LOC. Cleaning it did, however, cure a herky-jerky motion my steering would do when it was in a locked position
  8. I wanted to bring this one back now that the S550s are on the road. I really like them. I parked next to one at WalMart, and it was just gorgeous. The rear end is still growing on me, but I'm really loving the rest of the car! What are yall thinking after seeing them in person??
  9. Ooooops!! I fixed it, thanks for the heads up!! :D I think you'll like the PT. If the Lexus dealer finds one for you, I'd go straight to the Chrysler dealer and extend the bumper to bumper warranty....just incase something goes wrong.
  10. I can't believe what I'm reading...a non Toyota part on Monarch's car!!! I'm speachless! J/K ;)
  11. Welcome aboard Pawel!! The pictures of the cluster that I think you are referring to are guides on how to change out some electrical componets (capacitors mainly, I believe.) to fix the lighting issues with the needs and bulbs. From what I've seen on this forum, you solder in those new capcaitors, and that fixes the problems with the cluster. There is a massive thread pinned at the top of the LS forum in regards to the cluster problems for the 90-94 models. ;) Someone who knows more will chime in, I'm sure......
  12. I had a '04 for a rental for about a week when my LS was at the body shop. They're great little cars. The 4cyl is like a camel as far as gas is concerned, and the versatility is unreal....you can configure the back seats and cargo area about ten thousand different ways! The only thing I didn't like was the shape of the hood + low fenders made it tricky to park. I'm sure it just takes some getting used to though. The model I had didn't have crusie control (fleet options...a/c, stereo, and power windows, and that's it.)...what a PITA that was. And, mine was an aweful bright blue color.... The current PT is ancient; I'd take cross-shop the Chevy PT Cruiser since it's from this time period! LOL I was fairly comfortable in the one that I had (I'm not quite as tall as RX though!). It's like driving a minivan the way you sit so high up! LOL It's easy to get in and out of too with the big front doors and high seats.
  13. Delphi sells a wired FM modulator. I have one in my car, and it's definantly worth the $30.
  14. Are you using the wireless or wired mod?? I switched to a wired mod last week, and I'm very pleased. It's not CD quality, but it's pretty damn good for what it is.
  15. Did the shop pull the code from the cel the other day when it was acting up (I know some years will store the code.)? I've heard mixed things on flushes, so I just drain my pan every 5k-10k miles, and I've done it enough to have gotten most if not all the old fluid out of the tranny. The fluid that's in there now could just be old. I'd start with regular tranny fluid changes since tranny failures are very rare on LSs, and see where that takes you. There are also some shift solenoids that are above the tranny filter that might be worth cleaning. ;)
  16. Their are a few guys that have done this to their RXs with good results. I don't blame you Dolf, I'd be willing to chop that wire too if it enabled the bluetooth while in motion. Yeah, I'm waiting for the day that we have to sign a release to use the climate and stereo while the car is moving. On the other hand, their are several bluetooth carphones available that are fairly inexpensive and easy to install. Plus, you'll save your warranty should something grim happen.
  17. That's what I found too, and I'd consider my search fairly exhaustive. LOL ;) I think that's a great idea, but it doesn't look like those connectors will match up though. I bet it would be fairly easy to splice the connectors together if someone was brave enough! LOL
  18. I don't believe their is a hardwired setup. I searched and searched for a solution for my '95, but I never could find anything. I was actually quite pleased with my tape adaptor for my nano. Most of the hardwire kits that I saw were only for the latest cars. I tried a Monster fm mod, and I was stunned by the terrible sound quality. It seems like the best fm mods are the ones that are big and bulky like this.... I remembered seeing some wired fm modulators on Crutchfield which will probably be your best bet if they are still selling them. Maybe something like this: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-VEu3XO6sgob/c...71&I=142FMMOD01
  19. I don't believe so. I just ran a satellite antenna to my trunk lid, and I had to fish the line through some tiny centimeter hole near the subwoofer since I didn't see any other ways in. The gas tank is directly behind the back seat, so I don't believe there is any getting in that way. I'd just have the dealer make a new key since they are prime for situations like this one. ;)
  20. I'd pull one of your plugs to see if it's fouled or not. I ran seafoam through my intake and fuel not too long ago, and immediately after the treatment, my gas mileage plummeted. I pulled the plugs and cleaned the crap off of them, and my gas mileage is back to normal.
  21. Yeah, my rear pads are blue too! Mine squeaks only in reverse. Your pedal theory makes good sense, but I ride the brake the entire time I back out of the driveway since my driveway is a bit of a challenge since it is short and oddly shaped. After we back out, that's it, no more squeaking! LOL
  22. Good, I'm not alone!! Mine will do it occasionally....you wanna talk about loud too!!! The high pitched scream on my car comes from the back brakes for sure. I wonder if it's the parking brake hanging up or something?
  23. Wes, what aweful news. It'll get taken care of though, and it doesn't look too bad. I got rear ended while I was stopped. I saw it happen too (I could see this girl in a Solara closing in really fast in my rearview mirror--then boom!), but I had no where to move to try and avoid the collision. Luckily my car was fine, not even a scratch! I have a hunch that some idiot is going to total out my car before I get to see 300k on the odometer! If only I had a dime for everytime some has tried to change lanes in to me especially on the interstate....
  24. The flood control is such a pain in the !Removed! when searching...re-searching rather! That's probably the only complaint I have about this board.
