  1. It's a non-interference motor. Only on VTT-i engine. I see timing belt last up to 140k miles. Just to be safe I would replace it now. JP IMPORTZ
  2. :P i;m going to be nice ....................
  3. The GS is due for a new design. Coming out in 2005. Gs are good cars, they have the least problem compare to the es and rx. Good luck with purchase. You will love it. JP IMPORTZ
  4. It doesn't matter what kind of oil you use. You need to change your oil every 5k period. I replace at least 2 of these engine everyweek because people don't change their oil. I had this client change her oil every 30k :( . Bottom line, lexus repair it for free but you don't want your car in the shop for 2 weeks. JP IMPORTZ
  5. Check your batt cable. JP IMPORTZ
  6. Lexus is a good company and They will take care of their clients. I work for lexus and I see clients get away with everything and anything. But Since you have a accident in the front, my guess is it damaged the radiator and leaking coolant. NO coolant say bye bye to your engine. That is why they won't replace the engine for free. The long block is not cheap, this repair will be costly. You are looking at $15k in parts and labor. Good luck. JP IMPORTZ
  7. There are actually 3 books. 2 mechanical and 1 electrical. Anyone want a GB? I will set up one if there are enough demmand. Let me know. JP IMPORTZ
  8. Who did the repair? Sewell? Sometimes the tech didn't put everything back together like it supposed to go. I see a lot of tech forgot to put the check valve spring back. Are you in the dallas area? I can help you out. JP IMPORTZ 469-363-8652
  9. This whole job is easy but the hardest part is getting the two bolts on the starter to line up. Usually take me about 1.5 to 2 hrs. It's wise to test out the starter before putting it back together ;) JP IMPORTZ
  10. It's not the gas. Go to autozone and let them retrieve the code. Write down the code and I will tell you what is wrong. JPI
  11. Sometimes the sensor is stuck and it give you the false reading. Check your coolant level if it's low then top it off. Otherwise take your coolant level sensor out and clean it. Coolant level sensor located on the reservoir. JPI
  12. Tranny on the sc is an easy job. Probably take you about 4hrs. You need a lift and a transmission jack. Do not rebuilb the tranny by yourself. JPI
  13. This question is for AWJ, so i;m not qualify to answer. But anyway, V8 set up is totally different from I6. Do you want me to scan the diagram for you? Gimme your email and I will try to do it tomorrow. Also Check your tensioner, it's a good to replace it now. JPI
  14. You have to run all the wires through the carpet. Buy the ECU for the Nav ended up cost more than you planned. So the is "NO". JPI
  15. It's not the bump. You need to bring your vehicle in for them to retrieve the code. Or go to autozone for free. JPI
  16. you must be bored. Good info :magic: JPI
  17. They know what they are doing. They were in the one that put a 2jz in a rx7. JPI
  18. Rec replacing your T-belt @ 90k miles. It's a good time to replace it now since your car is a 91. Expect to pay from $600-850 for t-belt and water pump. JPI
  19. 96 and up es300 take me 45 minutes, 96 and later take me 1 hr. Older Es kinna trikcy and you have to take a lot more out. Drive in and out for 45 minutes. Would you like an engine swap to go with your T-belt? :P JPI
  20. Only the new ES300 has the fly by wire. Any codes? Have them check out the TPS and your tranny. JPI
  21. Overtime the gasket will become deteriorate. When the gaskets are harden They won't seal period. No mater how much you tighten them down to. PLus you have to take the intake manifold out, the gasket cost only $10. What cost is the Labor! It wouldn't be wise trying to save a $10 part and ended up doing job the over again. Time is money. AMF all cars are different, some methods will work on GM but don't work on Lexus. JPI
  22. There valve cover gaskets are bad and tend leak all the time. No, You can't tighten these bolts and hope it wouldn't leak again. The dealership would charge around 3-3.5hr to replace these gaskets. JPI
  23. I can do these T-betl in 45 minutes but if you don't know what you are doing it could take 3 days and cause a lot of damaged. JPI
  24. DO NOT USE APPLY BRAKE FLUIDS TO YOUR BELTS. This will make the problem worst and cause your belts to slip. JPI
  25. Instead of buying a new one I can rebuilb this unit for half of the price. JPI
