  1. Every Lexus vehicles required premium gas. Using any lower grade you will encounter some knocking. JPI
  2. These problems are normal on the ES300. Valve cover gaskets tend to leak after 45k miles. Since the power steering pump sit below the valve cover gaskets, it's probably not the power steering pump that leaking. Go ahead and replace your valve cover gaskets. Tell them to clean off the power steering pump if it is the pump you will know in 2 weeks. Why did you car fail the smog test? Let me know how it turn out. JPI
  3. Bill, You need to change your distributor O-ring and valve cover gaskets. Also, the inline six does consume a little bit of oil. To fix this problem you will need to replace your valve steam seals. It will run about $1,500-$2000 at the dealership. JPI
  4. Available at your Lexus dealer. They run about $50. I don't think Pep boy or autozone crazy these items. JPI
  5. To fix this problem you have to replace the entire steering column. Retail on this unit is $1,200 and labor is another $600.
  6. They are not your drive shaft. They call CV boots. About the valve cover gaskets you need to replace them. They are not that expensive but the labor. While you there I would rec replacing cam seals also. Lexus dealer would charge around 6-7hr of labor. That stranlate into $500 of labor. Do not replace your engine!!! JPI
  7. Do you have a voltmeter? It's ok. This is a common thing on ES300 or pretty much on lexus. Check your Mass Air Flow sensor. Let me know.
  8. Air servo mixer tend to fail on RX, GS and some SC. So here is the quick check. Remove your glove box compartment. Look closely to the air blower and you will see your air servo mixer. Adjust temp up and down if the actuator doesn't move. That is mean you need a new unit. It has been a long time since i replace one of these. If you still have trouble, I will look into the manual and let you know tomorrow. Good luck. JPI
  9. The TPS on GS's go bad all the time. Other than that GS are really good cars.
  10. All lexus use timing belt. Suggest replacing them at 90k.
  11. Please email me for the details. I can beat their quote. JPI :)
  12. If they can't do your T-belt bring it down here to dallas. I will fix you up. There is NO NEED TO CUT THE BOLT.
  13. it located behind the thirdrow seat. You need to bend the bar a little bit to get it out.
  14. Well if the bolt decided not to come loose then something got to give. Which is the bolt. I still don't understand why they still have this problem.
  15. I'm not being rude by no mean. Just trying to help lexus owners as much as I can since I know lexus inside out. If you decided to do this by yourself, it would be a fun project. Don't forget to change the O rings also
  16. Back then they came out with a new software and it supposed to fix the shifting concern. But it didn't. Lexus is try to resolve this issue. I will let y'all know if there is any changes in the future. JPI
  17. what code did you get? Go to autozone they will retrieve the code for free.
  18. Here is the answer again. When you replace your timing belt you should replace your water pump at the same time. Your timing belt drives the water pump to cirrculate coolant through the engine. If you are asking these questions I WOULD SUGGEST YOU NOT TO DO THIS ON YOUR OWN. Once you are in there it would be wise to replace your cam seals also. Pay someone to do this. JPI
  19. To program the alarm. Lock all your doors, open the driver's door. Put the master key in and take it out. Lock and unlock 5 times, close it open it again. Clock and unluck 5 times. Put your new key in Turn the key to ON. Take the key out, your door lock should recycle 2 times. Press 2 buttons on the remote. Now your alarm is programmed. JPI
  20. You can put regular tires on your SC430. Lexus sell a kit so you mount your spare tire in the trunk. I see client comes in with 8 miles and needing new tires. This is insane. But we always ended up goodwill the tires :P . I can find out the price for the spare kit. email me if interested. jpimport2003@yahoo.com JPI
  21. If you ask this question I wouldn't suggest replacing the water pump by yourself. All the nuts and bolts are different sizes. JPI
  22. I never see two sensor goes out at the same time. What bank did they say it was? I would suggest replacing lexus o2 sensor. You will need a 22mm wrench. Sometimes it's hard to take it off. email me your year and which bank. jpimport2003@yahoo.com
  23. Have you got this problem fix yet? GS are bad with their TPS(throttle position sensor). Yes the unit ain't cheap. After installing it you will have to adjust to 15% throttle. Good luck JPI
  24. What is the code? I never run into this problem before. I don't see why the CEL come in when there isn't a problem. They might just want to get you out the door. Get me the code and I will an answer for you. JPI
