  1. First two are in the owners manual. For snow, you're gonna need good snow or winter tires.
  2. It doesn't concern me a whole lot. In 50 years of driving I can only remember having 4 flat tires. Besides, I got AAA.
  3. That's so the cops can watch you and make sure you don't drive over 50 miles on that tire.
  4. How many miles do you have on your car now? I have the stock Dunlpops.. and at 17.5k they are running thin.. was sort of "forced " to replace the fronts this week... I only have about 9000 miles. When I referred to even wear, I mean that the tires are not wearing more in the middle than they are on the edges. People seem to be getting 15,000 to 20,000 miles on these tires. I think part of this is due to the low profile/high performance aspect.
  5. On the trunk floor there are tie down loops. You can hook bungee cords into them and the ones that the net hooks to to hold down objects in the trunk. If you look/feel in the top of the trunk there are two more hooks that are there to hang things like plastic bags of groceries etc to keep them from rolling around.
  6. That's only 3 PSI above the mfr recommended pressure. The tires are wearing evenly so far. I almost always ran at least 2 PSI above mfr pressure, especially for highway driving. I have the stock Dunlop 18's.
  7. It's much easier to use tinted film.
  8. It needs to go to the shop then. It might be something as simple as an interlock switch.
  9. I'd go with a tape stripe because you can always take it off if you don't like it.
  10. 05 isn't still under warranty?
  11. Make sure the car is in park before you shut it off.
  12. Homelink. http://www.homelink.com/home/faq.tml It's very important to have a new battery in your original transmitter before programming the one in your car. Also there are PDF pages from the IS300 owner's manual in the section at the top of this forum.
  13. Check out this supercharged IS. http://my.is/forums/f42/one-kind-supercharged-lexus-329355/
  14. There were lots of problems with these changers. At one time Lexus was replacing them, but by now I doubt they'd do it for a 2002 model. Maybe if you ask real nice? If not then get one from Fish.
  15. The paint chip could have happened anywhere. A piece of plastic? That should have been removed during dealer prep, but like you say, no big deal.
  16. The seat heater doesn't use the blower. They heat using heater coils built into the seats. Only the cooler uses the blower.
  17. The VSC and CEL came on when the radiator lost fluid because the ECU put the engine in "limp mode" to help prevent further damage. Fixing or replacing the radiator shouldn't be a big deal. Others have heard the loud pop/crack sound but not on a daily basis. I'm inclined to think it's in the sunroof but I've only heard it maybe a dozen times in a year and a half.
  18. Without going FI there's really not a whole lot of power you can get with NA mods.
  19. Best I can come up with is 35 offset if you're going with 18 x 8 or 8.5
  20. The TSB only applies to the IS 350, not the IS 250. Are the brake pads different for each vehicle? This one refers to the IS350 and the GS. I don't know if there's one for the IS250. The latest revision includes the IS250 on the TSIB updated April 27th 2007 TSIB.pdf Thanks. Now the 250 people have an option.
  21. My IS350 was one of the first off the line and I have not had the problem. The only ones you'll hear about are from people who have trouble. I doubt it's a design probem or all the cars would have it. I took a cue from a buddy that runs autocross and am running tire pressures at 38 front and 40 rear. Gotta watch that pressure and check it at least once a month. I almost always find them a couple pounds low. The car tracks really well over almost all road surfaces whith that setup.
  22. my garage example was not saying that the DRLs were subsitutes for the headlights. i was saying it provides some lighting for those 30 seconds before the headlights kick in. I wasn't referring to your example, but one in the long list of silly reasons on the anti-drl website. I doubt anyone needs tail lights in the garage anyhow. :chairshot:
  23. Doesn't look like http://ihatedrls.com is gonna get an influx of new members. :D
  24. The only DRL's that are objectionable are the ones that run full power high beams. I thought they did away with those though. As far as them being a substitute for turning your lights on in dusk/dawn or low light conditions, that's simply not true. State laws say you have to turn on your headlights. Otherwise you don't have any tail lights on. What good is that?
