  1. The popping noise has been discussed ad infinitum. Do a search on this forum and you'll find many posts. I don't think anyone has found a solution though.
  2. You might be able to sweet talk the dealer into doing the reflash on the TSB for free.
  3. Internet works fine. Buying during an incentive or sale time is even better.
  4. $36K is darn close to the original sticker price with that option. However I think the heated seats came with a bigger package. At any rate I think their asking price is way too high. At any rate for a car with those miles and options Edmunds says. $32,951 retail. That's top dollar. http://www.edmunds.com/
  5. I don't know about a jolt. Most 2001 models had a TSB that called for a reflash of the transmission ECU because of early downshifts and a sluggish shift from 1st to 2nd. These were all fixed for free. I believe there was also a reflash of the engine ECU as well. Check with the first owner and see if they had that done. Usually they put a sticker under the hood when the dealer fixed this.
  6. They are brighter. The standard lights are halogen while the adaptives are HID.
  7. Bump your other thread if need be, but don't becoming around talking *BLEEP*.
  8. The SRT Swift Racing Tech is the only intake that gives measurable gains. It's drawbacks are it's more expensive, and you have to solder the wiring of it's piggyback into the ECU. People that have them love them though.
  9. Tun off the trac/vdim and turn on the ect. When it's time to go just mash the gas and let the car do the rest. You won't have any problem beating the TL. People are easily running 13.4 to 13.7 in the 1/4 mile using this method. Running with 1/4 tank of gas, and removing the spare tire and anything you have stored in the trunk, etc. also helps a little.
  10. Yeah the body kit would be hard to disguise. Maybe start taking IS350 parts till you have an entire engine?
  11. Yimbie Please come back and give us your impressions of the BMW after you've driven it awhile. That would help us a lot in our ongoing comparisons. thanks
  12. Just a slightly cheaper spec for the US market, and I should think so too...we pay over $64,000 for a fully specced SE-L ...and that's calculating with the current high £ to $ rate. How much is the infamous VAT on a new IS there?
  13. We used to see those pitchmen with some amazing new gadgets at the state fair. Then they moved to TV.
  14. Not true. Tilt mirrors are not standard on 2nd gen IS models.
  15. You mean permanently or just as it happens? If I have the door open and want to stop the alarm I just push the closure switch in once and it stops. Must be another Euro thing. I just tried it and it resumes beeping.
  16. Could be lots of reasons why it didn't work for some people in their situations. If I get a scratch, I'll try it though. I never had much luck with the mild polishing and rubbing compounds for that.
  17. Cabin filter may be clogged. Try running it with the filter removed. Or the air diverter may not be directing air to the AC vents. Sometimes the switch or the acuator goes bad. That's a pretty common problem.
  18. There is already a recent topic about this. Take a look around. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=30456&st=0
  19. The mildew and stuff is growing on the evaporator coil. The only practical way to get rid of it is to clean that coil. I used this stuff on my IS300 and it was still odor free more than a year later. http://www.ackits.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=...e=coretreatment The cleaning agent has to be injected into the air duct that goes from the fan to the evaporator coil. It foams up and cleans the entire coil and is flushed out via the condensate drain. I'ts pretty easy to do and is a real cleaning job, not just a deoderant or whatever.
  20. It's worth a try. They've replaced a bunch of them. A dealer can help you out if he wants to.
  21. Thanks. The video runs ok for me from that link.
  22. This is correct. That should be the first thing to check.
  23. You'll be better off to pay a little more and get a 2002 or later model if you can.
  24. My big dent disappear. :D :D
