  1. I always wonder if the solution / water pressure is safe for the paint. I've been using the touch less car wash for a while myself but for a long run, is it good for the paint? The pressure seems really strong and the solution maybe quite harsh. I don't know... I was just wondering... Keeping a good coat of wax and sealant on the car should protect the paint. I'd much rather use the touchles than trust some yahoo with old diry rags and a dirty bucket of water to wash it. Mine's coming up on two years old and not a blemish on it.
  2. Good grief. I guess that makes 7 or 8 people that have brought that question here. :D :D
  3. Yep. Toyota Dealer Advertising. You should be able to get rid of that. It's really part of the dealers operating costs and should be already in his overhead.
  4. Being a Lexus owner I never pick up my change. :D
  5. I always use the touchless car wash and do the detailing myself. The car has never been touched by anything but the wash solutions and microfiber cloths. There's not a scratch or swirl mark on it. If I go to the dealer, I tell them not to wash it.
  6. Some of the emblems have pins and holes inthe trunk lid, so be aware.
  7. Has anyone pulled the plate out for a look? I think my dealer made a comment about it not being able to be included with the moonroof. So, I assume, the lower spec 250 without moonroof should have the sunglass holder. Is that right? That's how I heard about it. Someone in UK, I believe pulled it off and found wires. I'm not sure about sunroof though. YOU can get the JDM box here, if you want to spend big $$ http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2168
  8. A PDF of the TSIB for brake pads has been posted here several times, once within the last few days. Here's the latest post. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&p=252973
  9. I've heard this a couple of times. It seems some of the spoilers come in warped, don't fit and the tape can't hold the ends down. The solution if for them to keep trying till they get one that's straight and that will solve it. It's a pain, but I think it's the only way.
  10. Before digging too deeply into the suspension and/or driveline, get your wheels checked to make sure they are true and round. One small ding on a wheel can cause much problems.
  11. I'm betting you'll want the 350 after you drive it Meesha.
  12. Just to make sure, you gotta eject the cd that's in there before you can load one.
  13. It doesn't. But you can set it to work as a shift indicator light. You'd only use that when shifting in manual mode.
  14. If this feeling of stability outweighs the need for speed, then the AWD is what you need. If you get much snow in the winter that's also a plus.
  15. I've seen some DIY emblems done with black pearl model paint. They look pretty good.
  16. The real question would seem, why is AWD one of your choices in the first place?
  17. You can set the tach ring to light up at the RPM at which you wish to shift. Mine is set so it comes on just as the car auto shifts at WOT.
  18. It's my understanding that in some countries there is some wiring behind that plate.
  19. Read more in your manual and it will tell you how to set that ring to light up at any speed you want it to. It means nothing more than your own personally preferred set speed.
  20. What the dealer said about sending TSB's isn't necessarily true. They send them out and list the range of VIN's that apply if all the cars don't have the problem. I think another dealer still might take care of it for you on good will. Tha above suggestion to call Lexus is also good.
  21. Supplies of 08 models may be late or low because a major parts supplier got shut down by the recent earthquakes in Japan. Several auto plants have shut down due to lack of parts.
  22. Where can you get Lexus OEM wheels for $100-? EBAY keep your eyes open they are there.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS-IS250...138383806QQrdZ1
  23. Dunno where or how bad the scratches are, but I found that Rustoleum Aluminum paint is a good match for the IS350 stock 18's.
