  1. Here's the PDF file for the brake dust TSB. http://my.is/forums/attachments/f126/10188...-l-br002-06.pdf
  2. Sounds like mostly driver error to me.
  3. Theyre integral with the valve stems. If you look you'll see that the stems are metal instead of rubber. The TPMS part is attatched to that inside the wheel.
  4. The peeling should be backed up by the installer. They should fix it or install new panels.
  5. Before going any deeper, make sure you have a fresh battery in your remote. It could be giving a weak or erratic signal.
  6. ISF has info all over the place. All you gotta do is search.
  7. While all IS are made in Japan, the importing countries don't all have the same specs.
  8. Cough....that's LOC UK Bart, the Welsh, Northern Irish, and Scots will get upset if you say LOC England We don't have the auto lock feature, although a few of us were misinformed that we would have before we purchased the cars Presumably the OZ versions don't either, but right hand or left hand drive isnt a very good indicator as I don't believe the European spec LH drive has it. ...and I'm sure Bart will confirm the US spec doesn't have the tilting mirror option. Well I certainly wouldn't want to offend anybody. I just couldn't think of that new fangled name for the British Isles at the time and was too lazy to look it up. :D
  9. If that's all the drop you want, I'd go with Eibach pro-kit springs, for probably a lot less money and easier installations.
  10. Seeing as how we're all pretty much in agreement that the guy is going after the wrong people and since he's not getting any great shakes going on Digg, I'm going to close this thread.
  11. This is in the wrong forum. Moving to IS350 forum. Why exactly did the engine fail to the point of needing replacement? Did the animal block the radiator causing an overheat condition, or what? You say that all the warning lights came on, yet you continued to drive the car. The prudent thing to do would be to pull over, call AAA or whoever and have the car towed to a service facility. It appears to me that you bear more responsibilty for this engine failure than you would like us to believe.
  12. I've got mine set to lock when it's taken out of park and put into any gear. That's even better for car jackings I think. I also had the dealer set it so the doors do not unlock when I stop and put it in park. Have you asked on LOC England? On the US Lexus com page we can access owners pages. Don't know if the Austrailia page offers that or not. http://www.lexus.com.au/
  13. It would not work well in a situation other than "straight line drag racing" for the following reasons: (1) The steering wheel may be in the line of sight (2) I may need to downshift when doing 3000 rpm so as to achieve better steering dynamic during a bend (3) I may need to upshift before the max torque to avoid rear wheels skidding (or the annoying beeps and throttle cut from the ESP) in a bend (4) I may need to downshift to achieve engine braking in going downhill (5) Checking the "orange" ring still divert attention in winding narrow roads with tight bends I wasn't aware you had lost your peripheral vision. The real point is that you can set that RPM lighted ring wherever you want it and if you want to stay on power, set it where you want to shift. But then, I'm not a pro road racer so what do I know? Being an old !Removed!, I pretty well go by seat of the pants feel and engine sound (yes I can hear it in stock form) anyhow. All I really need is a speedo so's I know if I'm going the speed limit if cops are around.
  14. The ISP Mode wheels do nothing for me. I do like the G-Spiders better than the stock wheels, but not $2450 worth. If it were me, I'd take that $2450 and put it towards upgrading the IS250 to an IS350... Agreed.
  15. Hi bartkat, My auto levling light on my dash is on for my 01' is300. Do you still have the pdf files on how to troubleshoot the auto level system. If so, can you send it to qmichaellu@gmail.com thanks in advance /mike I'll look for it. Meantime did you look at this thread: http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=20049...dlight+leveling
  16. From what I've seen with other drivers, the Aerotect kit is very good.
  17. Yes, that's correct. That's also called an "Automatic" transmission. If I wanted it to automatically select another gear for me, I wouldn't put it in manual mode. If I'm not hurting the engine, and I give the car a little gas (I stress "a little"), in manual mode, the car should not downshift. Ever. Manual mode is not solely for "performance", it's to have full control over shifting the transmission. I serioulsy doubt Audi's DSG would do that. Never mind.
  18. Funny, "it doesn't sound like a Civic with pooty pipes" was one of the car's selling points for me.:whistles: I like very much the quietness of the car especially when listening to music from the very good audio. However, I would appreciate some audio clue when driving with the manual mode. I now have to keep an eye on the rev counter to do the shifting. Even with windows opened, the engine rev is not obvious (especially against the tire noise). Openning the windows is also not a nice option when driving above 60 mph or in the hot summer sun (or cold winter). I am wondering if anyone would make a synthesizer linked to both the rev counter and the audio input jack so to have some artificial engine+exhuast sound according to the revs when one would need some. :D You have that little red ring for speed and RPM that you can set to come on at whatever speed or RPM you want. I keep my speedo set at 100 MPH and the RPM set at 500 below redline. That's enough cue for me.
  19. I wouldn't worry about a little run like that. It would probably be worse if you drove a steady 50 MPH for 50 miles or something like that.
  20. I have a California Duster that I've used since 1994 and it still works great. This is the 4th car for it. Mine is Matador Red, and as long as I keep wax and sealant on it I can just dust off the car whenever it's needed and it shines just like new. Since we haven't had a lot of rain this year I've only had to go to the car wash a couple times.
