  1. I think you can get O2 simulators to replace the sensors and stop the CEL. People use those when they install headers with no cats.
  2.
  3. This has been covered here including the TSB.
  4. I woulnd't worry about it yet. The test could be off that much.

  8. Bull, 2 million cars in Europe, now China its a design problem with the car, and Lexus is included. Bull? Did you read what I said? There are two problems being addressed. http://www.toyota.com/recall/?srchid=K610_p278710208
  9. There may be more than one cause of the problems being addressed. I think one is the pedal itself and the other is the actual system. The pedal design may be common to Lexus and Toyota, while the system problem applies to parts made in North America. I believe the Lexus parts are made in Japan.
  10. I think we've seen bigger incentives than those.
  11. Yes that Philips bulb will work. I've used the same ones. No, you don't need to remove the whole headlight to change bulbs. Have you even looked in there to see what I told you about?

  13. Yep, when the bulb turns that color it's worn out. You might want to consider replacing both to get the original 4300K color temp. If you look at the back of the headlight you should see a gray disk with some ears on it to grip for turning. Turn that disk just a few degrees clockwise if you are standing in front of the car and that cover should pop right off. I believe it's sealed by a rubber o ring. Once you have that off, you can see how to unplug the bulb and replace. There are some wire clips holding the bulb in place. Pop those off and replace the bulb. Be careful not to touch the bulb surface with bare hands. Use cloth gloves or something to hold it.
  14. Which bulb do you need to replace?
  15. That cant happen. The window would stop and go down if it sensors any resistance going up. You willing to try it? I put mine down to flip out a cig and hit the express up too soon and it like to smashed my arm. I couldn't get the down button quick enough. The feature may be there but they aren't 100%.
  16. Here's one method. You bypass the circuit around the headlight part of the system. http://my.is/forums/f53/how-stand-alone-fo...hts-mod-106666/ This one makes a separate circuit for the fog lights. http://my.is/forums/f64/is300-alternate-fo...dlights-340800/
  17. Still the question, is it a good deal? Or did I miss that? If you've gone over it and it isn't beat out inside and looks good outside, it's still under original warranty, then what else can anyone here do for you?
  18. If they'll let you, take it to a Lexus dealer. They'll do a thorough inspection for about $100 and if it was serviced by Lexus can look up the service records and verify that any TSB's were done. Also how good is the price on this car compared to what may be one owner cars on a Lexus lot?
  19. Are you really sure the trunk light goes out when you close the lid? I mean are you really really sure? And how about the fact that when you buy a new car you have to find the switch and set it so the light comes on because when the car is shipped as is the light never comes on even when you open the trunk lid. Then you have to go on a car forum and make a thread that you have a defective trunk light that doesn't come on, only to find out that in the owners manual there it a little part that tells you how to set the light switch? Shouldn't someone already set that switch or at least show you how to do it before you drive away in your brand new excellent Lexus?
  20. How do you like those tires regarding handling? My concern is that they have a softer sidewall and give a softer feel as well as add more sway to the car. The dunlops I have on now give good response on handling. Thanks! I had the OEM Dunlops. I like the Continentals as well or better. in fact i think cornering traction is maybe a little better. It all depends on your driving style I suppose, but I'm happy with these. It's not all about sidewalls stiffness when it comes to handling, it's about the entire construction of the tire, compounds, and the way you set up your pressure balance. I'm running 38 PSI front and 40 PSI rear. There was another guy on here that had the Continentals and liked them too. I lived in Stow and worked in Akron for 15 years and there's no way I'd try to drive on summer tires in winter even with AWD. You gotta have some sharp tread edges and some self cleaning ability in your tires or you may as well be driving on slicks.
  21. I have the Continental Extreme Contacts on my IS350 and I like them a lot. I got caught in some freezing rain in Ohio last year and the tires did fine.
  22. I thought he said drivers flashing light.
  23. You don't fasten your seatbelt?
  24. Make sure the selector is on the right tire set. If all are within spec, then maybe go through the initialization that's described in the owner's manual. I believe it's 5 PSI change in pressure before the light goes on.
  25. To each his own. We have a long thread where octane levels are discussed. The arguments are pretty much personal preference, similar to the discussion on oil and oil change intervals. I prefer to use premium fuel, not just for performance, but also a name brand for the additives to help keep my high performance, state of the art engine clean and operating efficiently. I also choose to change oil every 3000 miles or 6 months, just because that's what works for me and makes me comfy for the last 50 years. Cost differences aren't that big of an issue for me in this case. I really don't know how the dealer sets the maint light to 3000 miles. I set mine to zero and it doesn't come on again until 5000 miles. That's the only reset I know of. Premium gas discussion here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...t=0&start=0
