  1. I would carry out a wiggle test which is to wiggle the wires to see if it cuts in and out then you know you're in the right area
  2. I have encountered this on a Lexus before and found it may me a bit squiffy for a while until my eyes adjusted to it. I couldn't tell you why though, only thought was the rake of the screen and your eyes are focusing on differing angles?
  3. LS4HM ....welcome to the Lexus Owners Club Carrera....very nice! Would love a 911 myself - maybe one day 🙂
  4. This is the complete factory owners manual for 1998 GS300/400 You will need this: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html to read these files. 5. I always loved the 55 Chevy in Two Lane Blacktop and this was the closest I could get to one. Wow! a V12 in a Malibu....snug fit as the V12 is a hefty engine in any engine bay at the best of times
  6. Totally agree, battery drain can be minimal such as interior light being on - don't forget trunk light but you won't be able to see this unless you are inside with the lid closed (bit like the fridge light 🙂
  7. Hi Jim....welcome to the Club If in doubt then I would certainly replace the timing belt and tensioners due to age and mileage. Also, it if you are replacing the coolant hoses then I would also recommend replacing the water pump at the same time as the belts. Here is an article that may provide some useful information to tackle the job https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/84315-cambelt-question/
  8. Hi Rick....welcome to the Club In the UK they are phasing out AM/FM analogue radio stations and going digital so not sure it this is something that is happening in the US?
  9. Sounds insane! I love cars like that, takes me back to the custom car days where you built crazy machines (see pic below of my old Vauxhall PA Cresta with Jaguar V12 under the hood) The Pilot's hat sounds like a cool option to keep the bugs out of your eyes 🙂
  10. Hi .... welcome to the Club Have you got any photos to post up to show the condition of it? You could possibly look at selling it to an 'off-roader' as bodywork is not important.
  11. Definitely seems a lot cheaper to tow it where you want to launch it and leave round the side of your house when not using it. Can you get something like a Caravan Mover (motorised device that drives one wheel and remote control) which saves dunking the vehicle into the water as well? Or as Jim says, you could probably use a winch which may be worth a try?
  12. Sorry, You're right.....not really a boaty type myself and not realising you would be pulling the trailer in and out the water on a ramp....that makes for a totally different scenario where an f-150 would definitely do the job nicely. So not sure the RX would do the job reliably
  13. Wow! that's an insane car (if car is the right word to describe it).....looks like a lot of fun! insane power to weight ratio much like the KTM X-Bow which is completely nuts!
  14. As far as I am aware there are not any pumps or belts behind the dash but there are motors to direct the vents and flaps and these can be heard when the ignition is switched on / off.
  15. You are absolutely correct....seems like the trim level is now reflected in the badging, e.g. Audi using 'Sport-Line' Very good point....sometimes its not always about power and I think Lexus have the best combination of power, ride comfort and reliability
  16. Hi....welcome to the Club I believe if the trailer is braked then the RX should be heavy enough to slow the trailer on deceleration. With regards to the transmission, I may be advisable to fit an auxiliary transmission oil cooler to avoid overheating the trans
  17. Useful video, thanks for posting. Recently changed the lights on my Mitsubishi L200 and had to replace the indicator relay to slow down the flash rate....worked a treat after that
  18. Not sure, but worth raising the seat to see if there is a tray under there
  19. Hi.....welcome to the Club Does it seem to make any difference if it is hot inside the car as opposed to cold, e.g. does temperature make a difference and if so, maybe it is an interference of the two materials contacting and goes away once expansion occurs as it warms up?
  20. Should also increase your economy if you're not dragging the additional drivetrain when driving (2WD high is better for mpg)
  21. That's a valid point LexusGuy603 and you're right, it doesn't do any harm to have an identity...Audi seem to have used this ethos rather well with their unique grill design
  22. Another truly reliable Japanese car, you can't wrong for a daily driver Icecold-F
  23. Superb machinery you've had the opportunity to drive...totally jealous Dave
  24. Do you have photo of it Scott?
  25. There wouldn't be any temperature sensors on the doors but it could be down to heat expansion on the connector blocks possibly. Would be worth disconnecting each connector on the doors and clean up to see if that improves things. Alternatively it could be the remote fob that is at fault?
