  1. Hi Martin Have you checked the UK site www.lexusownersclub.co.uk as there may be the answer lurking in there somewhere? Personal thoughts are as the battery was severely depleted then it may be the voltage has registered in the system and needs a reset (search how to do this in the forums). Let us know how you get on with it
  2. That sounds like a great result all round....glad to hear the cost was relatively low also Thanks for letting us know the outcome for future reference
  3. What are the symptoms from the failed transmission
  4. Sounds great (no pun intended) have you got any pics of the device/system?
  5. https://www.toyota-tech.eu/wire_harness_rm/RM06H0E.pdf It's a great repair manual for fixing broken wires at terminal clips or replacing the terminal clip itself. Toyota shows the tool to use, the way to use it, the terminal clip ID number with photo and which terminal pin works to make the repair.
  6. Sounds plausible I guess
  7. It does sound like either the exhaust system knocking against the underside (maybe loose mount) or otherwise and engine or transmission mount is weak and allowing too much flex on the motor on acceleration
  8. Hi Dennis.....welcome to the Forum Sounds like you need to start chasing through any connections that you previously encountered to ensure they are tight and corrosion free. From there, maybe consider removing the heater control panel to inspect any wiring or connections in there. Let us know what you eventually find
  9. Thanks for the feedback, always nice to know the way round these problems
  10. Hi...welcome to the Club I would recommend peeling back the rubber gaiter that goes from the door to the roof area to see if there are any broken wires in there. As the door opens and closes it can fracture the cables which could be the reason it is not functioning
  11. Hi John....welcome to the Club I would personally have a charger wire directly to the battery and have a quick connector which you can plug into the trailing lead from through the grill area for example. You would be best to get hold of a trickle charger or battery conditioner (such as C-TEK) which will cycle the battery charge to keep the battery in tip top condition.
  12. I have used 'Slime' and similar vulcanizing treatments in my cars and bike tyres successfully for years. It works by sealing any deficiencies (such as porosity in the alloy rim) and also any other slow punctures. It is introduced through the tyre valve and state that it is okay to use with TPM sensors.
  13. That is the benefit of having a luxury brand such as Lexus....enjoy!
  14. Hi William.....welcome to the Club Firstly, why has the pump suddenly stopped? Has the vehicle had any work carried out on it recently or been involved in an minor bump? There is an inertia switch on some vehicles that cuts the fuel if there has been any sort of impact, it is reset by pressing the button (rubber cover on it).. Alternatively, the fuel control system needs to register the engine rotating to then know it is okay to run the pump and provide fuel to the engine. If the Crankshaft sensor is not functioning then the pump won't run. I would start by scanning for fault codes and then look at relays (usually in the engine bay area)
  15. Hi You are welcome to place an advert in the For Sale section of this forum at no cost. Worth putting up some photos of it as well
  16. Ouch! that's going to be expensive. Maybe you can find an aftermarket or recon item as would be cheaper than OE part Let us know how you get on and what you find out there
  17. There shouldn't be any issues with the transmission and hybrid motors as they are extremely durable and don't have any major inherent problems
  18. You should be able to move it enough to clear the bolt if you remove the pump just enough as there should be a small amount of flex in the brake lines (obviously not enough movement to damage them though)
  19. You should be able to replace the pan gasket and fluid and filter and this shouldn't lead to slipping. Certainly worth a try for the limited cost involved
  20. Hi Barbara Ann.....welcome to the Club It sounds like the hydraulic lifters are starved of oil on start up. If the oil cannot fill them instantly or they are draining down easily then I would change the oil to a lighter weight grade and see how you get on with this. Also have the oil filter changed at the same time for a genuine Lexus part. Ensure the oil is as good as you can get (e.g. Mobil1, Castrol, etc)
  21. Hi Barry.....welcome to the Club Firstly, most fuel mileage claims by manufacturers are vastly outlandish and have been proven to be fixed. A few years ago pretty much all the major vehicle manufacturers were caught with their pants down when it came to true mileage claims from a tank of fuel. However, when it comes to the most recent vehicles then there is now a transparency with claimed mileage and economy. Two things that are inherent with Hybrids is that you are constantly carrying the weight of the batteries no matter how full or empty they are the weight will not change, unlike a tank of fuel. Also, the Hybrid does need to regenerate so constant freeway driving for example would not lead to topping the batteries unlike driving around town. Maybe it is worth trying different roads with more bends and stop junctions at a moderate speed to see what difference it makes to the range. Let us know what you find
  22. Hi Logan.....welcome to the Club That truly is a fine looking machine, as was the Legacy as well but two totally different beasts I imagine. Good to have you onboard!
  23. Hi Cody......welcome to the Club I would advise to check the Cabin (Pollen) Filter as if this blocked then no air will come through. Cheap and easy to replace but may have to crawl under the dash to access it
  24. oh yes! They certainly look the part and fill the arches nicely 🙂
