  1. Good idea, leaking gasoline is dangerous to say the least.
  2. Yes we are aware of that recall, owners have received their letter by now. My 07 IS350 is subject to that recall and it will be taken care of this summer during routine service visit. I assume the difference is that your GS350 was actually leaking fuel (as a result of faulty fuel delivery pipes)?
  3. I would try to get the Lexus dealership service to cover it under CPO warranty, given the sequence of events while the car was in their possession. What was the nature of the repair that had them keep your car for over 4 months (October-February)?
  4. I like sushi, but not while driving my Lexus (or any car).
  5. I'm waiting to see if Mercedes or Lexus can knock BMW out of the #1 US premium brand sales spot. Both have a chance.
  6. We now have a inhouse iPhone expert LOC.... Another plus!
  7. Regio26/Roberto - Did you find another shop?
  8. 2007 2nd gen IS350 has timing chain. New 3rd gen IS350 has same 3.5L engine.
  9. Stormchaser - Welcome to LOC. Great find, the IS350 has been proven to be above average in terms of reliability. No real issues that aren't addressed by recalls and only a few minor issues addressed by TSB's. Your Lexus dealer will identify and schedule fix for any open recalls (because there have been many for these 2nd gen ISx50's). I assume the title is "clean" and not "salvage"?
  10. That's what I'm using currently, will get 6 in October when I'm due for upgrade.
  11. Nice pics. What phone was used?
  12. Welcome GlenK. The ATS certainly is a nice compact sport sedan, post a picture when you have a chance.
  13. IMHO I'm not convinced that CR's view of the automotive brands is that important. Certainly I find their reliability data to be some of the best available and very helpful, but beyond that no thanks.
  14. Lexus at the top of a CR ranking that I feel mainly focuses on reliability was expected. I owned a Mazda CX-5 for 2 1/2 years and sold it to a family member. The design, reliability and premium feel was outstanding for a affordable compact SUV. If that's a sign of what to expect from Mazda for all of its latest gen products, they deserve to be in at least top 5.
  15. Sounds like seatbelt tensioner possibly acting up. Unbuckling belt at 70mph as a solution, no way! Only time I've experienced something like that is on a very steep downhill while applying brakes (near my house).
  16. Beckie - Your model year IS250 is not included with the 2 issues originally noted. The dash problem is not a recall, it's a warranty enhancement (extension).
  17. For owners (both new and used) that have properly registered ownership with Lexus, letters should have been received for both issues by now. I received notification several weeks ago on my 07.
  18. Nowie - Did you get a copy of your CPO checklist? What comments were on it in chassis-shock/strut section?
  19. ShawnOklahoma - Yes mine is 07 IS, and most likely very different electrical system.
  20. But yes, 3K year on a garage queen car is hard on battery. My original Porsche Boxster S battery lasted 3.5 years, annual mileage was 2K to 3K per year.
  21. My original battery is still in my 2007 Lexus. I'm guessing it might get replaced this year after its 8 year life in car, if so I'll replace it with same Lexus battery. History: 6K/year has been the annual mileage/usage. Regarding the AUTO headlights, usually left OFF.
  22. Nowie - I do understand your disappointment with the CPO certification and the service department's work The Lexus CPO checklist calls out for checking as it relates to your issue in the section called Chassis Inspection (and has a place to enter comments and estimate repair cost): . Struts/shocks for operation/leaks
  23. No kiddin, everything. The lame upsells. In 2015 already I've had to decline offers to buy extended warranties on washer, dryer, laptop computer.
  24. Mine's coming out of the garage tomorrow, weather sb 65 F and partly sunny. Lexus called the color smoky granite mica (fancy name for dark graphite metallic color), it was popular on IS, GS, LS, RX for several years. btw - I hope OP had success in getting the issue resolved.
