Dash problem is not a recall. It's a warranty enhancement (extension) that applies only to the cars that actually have the problem.

Usually a separate printout (separate from invoice), sometimes they put in glove box.

I hope OP was able to find a nice used Lexus RX, since they've had over 3 years to search...

1. Full sized wheel/tire will not fit in spare well designed for space saver wheel/tire. This is common today. 2. Yes, the space saver is not the ideal tire setup when you have lots of freeway/highway to go. Modern runflats/extended mobility setups have problems too. What caused the regular tire to fail in the first place?

Maybe mechanic wants somebody to buy something unreliable to enhance revenue stream.

"Corn sugar" and other crap in the typical western diet are factors in the fatness of many American, self-control (or lack of) with the fork and spoon are also very important factors too. So I do give some of the blame to subsidized corn products. When I look at how a large company like McDonalds slow-rolled and fought the elimination of transfats from their crappy processed foods, it's pretty obvious they did not care about health of customers/consumers. (Not to mention corn sugar and wood pulp fillers used in their food-like products)

I use them on mountain roads, usually to get moderate engine braking on long downhill sections, quite useful. The Benz C250 Sport package plus has paddle shifters too. With moonroof open and a heavy foot in lower gears (accessed via paddles), the F-sport exhaust on my IS sounds wicked too.

Thanks Jim for the Venza info. My guess is when Americans choose a smaller/sleeker SUV they tend to buy the newest compact models which is now a high growth segment.

Anybody at LOC running a air suspension system on their Lexus? (or any car?)

So when will we see a new redesigned VENZA? It's getting a bit old. Although I've always liked it from a style standpoint, it was never a very good seller in North American market.
