  1. Vid works fine now. I never skied on East coast, great intro for me.
  2. At least THE LINE - THE LEXUS LINE & 2015 MODELS magazine has useful information in attractively packaged booklet form. I picked it up at car show, probably dealers have copies too.
  3. Go Niners, (not that they are a factor today), lol.
  4. Yes it probably was "internet capital" back in the day (1999, at least per Gore and governor) pre-Google, not even close today. Now it's just another very out of date vanity plate. When doing (tech) business the further from DC, the better.
  5. Yes advertising by Lexus with additional advertising included....
  6. By motor vehicle, there's only one way in and one way out of my neighborhood, so we know what cars reside here. We know all our closest neighbors by name, not just that fake wave at everybody crap. The neighborhood backs up to open space and ranches so we deal with some wildlife nuisances and occasional escaped livestock. We have plenty of street parking because the homes are spread out on lots ranging in size from 1/4 acre to 16 acres each. All the houses have big driveways and 2 to 4 car garages, catering to those that like cars. Some houses even have a extra golf cart garage space, being 1/2 mile from country club, although I guess that could be used for motorcycle, etc. Semi-rural setting but 3 miles from major freeway, kind of unusual. But practical neighborhood for car nuts like us. Note: I only count 5 Toy/Lex products in my hood including my IS.
  7. Always good to get a report on a car savy neighborhood. I live in a deadend hillside neighborhood of 40 homes and we've got some car buffs here, we have annual block parties and people tend to know each other due to low turnover. Some of my neighbors' favorites include CLS, 911 (996) 912, 2 Vettes, modded 335, modded E350, Mustang GT, M3, S550. Today was my kind of car day, 71 F degrees and sunny. I drove IS with moonroof open into local hills and stopped at a cafe at 2000 foot elevation to enjoy view with 60 mile visibility due to super air quality.
  8. I could tolerate the latest gen Prius styling if the driving experience was closer to being acceptable. The CT Lexus hybrid (derived from Prius) that I had as loaner last year was more rewarding to drive.
  9. I need that real F-Sport mechanical feel...
  10. For a few days starting yesterday, a 2014 Prius. (The Mercedes C250 is at body shop due to negligent driver putting a $1100 scrape/scratch in rear door on the freeway, rental car and repair care of their insurance fortunately) Other than 40-45 mpg I have little positive to say after driving the Prius this evening, it's gutless, bland, slow/numb steering, mediocre throttle response, funny brake feel.
  11. Yes, I remember when Mercedes used to send those fancy mags (with ads), maybe Lexus contracted with same vendor to produce the glossy mag. But I'll wait to see what comes in the mail (to my old fashioned mailbox)...
  12. Yes you can login and change preference to receive hardcopy mag, I did it yesterday. I have a hard copy of THE LINE-THE LEXUS BRAND & 2015 MODELS, something I picked up at SF auto show in November. Was this one of the earlier publications (hard copy)?
  13. I just switched my preference on "My Lexus" to get the hardcopy version of magazine, so my opinion is still TBD...
  14. What lowering springs or coilovers were used to lower that RC?
  15. We're waiting for our iWatch...
  16. I have not seared my buns in my Lexus IS, but the warmers work fine.
  17. I have not seen one RC on the street so far, (I'm a bit surprised too). Seen a few NX's cruising around.
  18. Probably the end of the line for these normally aspirated 5.0L V8's is my guess (what I mean is these GS's and RC's will be the last gen of Lexus cars with this particular engine), to be enjoyed while we can....
  19. Per Lexus email today, arriving late 2015...
  20. My Mercedes and Honda do not have the sunglass case, so I do appreciate the overhead case in my Lexus IS. Since I only wear RayBan sunglasses and if I'm going to leave them in exposed in door pocket or console area, I put them in a cheap glasses case (not the RayBan case) for security reasons.
  21. Be safe, best of luck. And let us know outcome in 30 days.
  22. My results with battery life lately is not real consistent: 2008 Mercedes C300 - 7 years 2007 Lexus IS350 - 8 years in March, end still TBD... 2010 Honda Civic - 4.5 years
  23. Yes, but a bit cheaper to try the slight increase to toe-in settings which has helped a lot of IS owners.
  24. Roberto - This front tire (inner) wear issue is not uncommon on the ISx50's, although it's more likely on the cars that have been lowered. The stock alignment specs and low profile 18" summer tires are biased towards good handling (versus long wear). I'm not aware of a camber kit for this car. Try using a more experienced tire/wheel shop for the alignment (typically a custom tire/wheel shop that has worked on a lot of Lexus IS's). I think they will deviate slightly from the Lexus alignment spec and increase toe-in slightly to reduce the tire wear problem from what I've read.
