  1. I'll take the "1 gallon" remaining in small diameter hose as a unmeasured and unsubstantiated guess at best and not worry about it. Recent estimate per Shell puts it at 1/2 litre or about 1/8 gallon. Motorcyclists riding old high compression bikes with very small 2 gallon tanks are aware of impact of remaining fuel though as they should be. For regular Lexus drivers like us, not significant. My preference is to use nearly 100% Chevron because of the detergent/additives, even if other brands claim top tier the (minimal) additive amounts and qualities are different. I learned from a (fellow Mazda-owner) engineer that worked at a major gasoline distribution center. Also running regular in a engine designed to run on premium will negatively impact performance and fuel efficiency (reducing net cost savings), not good for long term use.
  2. These Lexus IS cars do induce happiness, a good thing.
  3. One gallon in hose? I guess the stations here don't have the same 6" diameter fire hoses, lol. Yes using recommended fuel is minor difference in operating cost.
  4. Gas prices popped up here about 25 cents.
  5. Maybe some of these accessories will make it to US dealership parts departments, as F-Sport accessories.
  6. Yes, the F-sport exhaust sings nicely at higher revs, I never get tired of that.
  7. My IS is one of the relatively rare Sport Package versions and has the aluminium pedals, a nice touch. The dead pedal is very Porsche-like.
  8. Heated steering wheel is a nice luxury option. We've come a long way from rollup windows, manual door locks, manual side mirrors, unheated vinyl seats, etc. and personally I'm not interested in going back to that archaic stuff.
  9. My preference is using my right foot to maintain the 75 mph on flyover, but either way I like the feeling/G forces. We have one here 3 miles from my house that I enjoy at 80 mph only when no cars are around.
  10. Yes very fortunate and expected here in CA from a Lexus dealership. Even the Mercedes dealership a block away has stepped up its game to be as good as Lexus dealership. Both are better than Porsche, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Audi, Mazda and Chrysler/Jeep experiences here.
  11. Welcome to LOC Seth. My local Lexus dealership would never deliver a CPO car like that. That's not how Lexus dealerships here take care of customers. The Lexus dealerships here are very good and usually better than a majority of dealerships, including Honda and Toyota. You should be very disappointed and take future business somewhere else. In the mean time your reasonable requests via current dealership should be acted on.
  12. Not much difference in straight line performance, due to combination of more power and more weight. I've driven the IS-F and the front end weight bias was noticeable (not a plus).
  13. I did the same thing (took a pic of engine) last summer for some reason....
  14. Great pics. Looks way better than the orange RC-F shown at our local dealership here.
  15. Uhhhhhh XD, the less memorable Scion... The 2012 IS sounds very good in vid.
  16. Next will be the request for recommendation for ear plugs.
  17. In the US (2nd gen IS), F-Sport exhaust was always a dealer-installed option or aftersale addition via Lexus parts counter/service department. It's made by HKS, engraved with F-Sport logo. I had it installed on my gen 2 IS350 a couple years ago. F-Sport ISx50 model cars never came with it as standard equipment. Same goes with the F-Sport springs (Eibach350 equivalents in blue).
  18. Hannibal - My understanding is the midpipe and test pipe are the same thing, a common aftermarket accessory. Essentially just a section of pipe to complete exhaust after removal of cat converter. Main impact is sound, not enough power increase to be significant. Not sure how a California car would pass smog (6 years out for new car, every 2 years thereafter) with that in place, maybe people just reinstall cat for testing. Your IS250 is a 2012 or 2015? Are you running any axle-back exhaust such as F-Sport or Tannabe?
  19. Roberto - I assume you are not in Miami area, in Miami plenty of lowered ISx50's with this problem and the high end tire/wheel shops deal with it on regular basis. Yes, camber can not be adjusted. And Lexus warns about tire life on these cars running high performance tires (life not expected to exceed 20K miles). Have any of the 2 shops that you are talking to installed these camber kits before? What kind of tire life (miles) are you dealing with? I put 24K on my last set of 19" summer tires (IS350 lowered 1" and alignment done by my local shop that specializes in this stuff), rears were worn more than fronts at time of replacement.
  20. Roberto - Any success finding a shop with experience to deal with alignment?

    Is It Me!

It's not just you. I noticed similar effect while watching baseball live at AT&T park. But yes the excitement isn't there without my favorite team.
  22. Mike - Did you get a chance to drive the IS? My opinion is driving behavior is the main factor in keeping driving record clean. I see many low powered/gutless econo boxes receiving tickets. Rattles and squeaks are not common problems with Lexus cars. (I already explained the different transmissions above)
  23. Thumbs up on Katy Perry and Missy Elliot performances.
  24. Katy Perry was hot, while the Lexus was cooling in garage until next Friday or so, (unless it rains which is forecasted).
  25. Put the Lexus back in garage after returning from 90 minutes of tennis with club member half my age, good fun. Did my stretching and exercises, I see score is 14-14, looking forward to Katy Perry in a few minutes.
