We have found on both lexus sites that aftermarket air/fuel sensors dont like these engines...You can get them on Amazon for around $100 apiece (Denso oe MANUFACTURER) I remember that was the fix for one guy fighting the codes that seemed to keep coming back. As for the plenum, I had to replace my gaskets because of a water leak over by the thermostat. Torqued the new gasket to spec and never had to touch it again. As for air leaks dont forget the flex pipe on the exhaust which may be leaking air. Most of the time it just makes noise...I have read of like no ECM's being bad, but I suppose it can happen. Good luck keep us posted. By the way the fuel filter is in the gas tank, and nobody has ever posted it being a fix as it is a mesh screen that is self cleaning...my old RX300 had the original with 188k miles...

OK have had my RX400h for a couple of months now..I noticed recently with the warmer weather that when the car is rolling at slow speed (under 25) you hear a scraping noise from the wheels, mostly from rear. For each revolution of the wheel there is a scrape sound. Last night I took of the caliper and the noise was still there. I believe it is the emergency brake shoes. I took the drum off and noise is gone...Man is this car so quiet that we dont really hear these noise with the normal no hybrid? However this morning all four tires are make a weird squish noise rolling out...Does everybody hear these noises also? The tires are Toyo Country's The car has 92k miles. By the way there was no noise on the rear after removing the brake disk... The adjusters do work on the brake shoes and they seemed free. Maybe the release cable is not pulling back everytime..Anyway I am interested if anyone hears these noises also on their hybrid at low speed (backing up and forward)

Just took the rear brakes apart. Absolutely nothing special...Darn car is so quiet that when you roll slowly with hybrid power you hear the brake drums rubbing (emergency brake) but they were just fine...Took pictures of rear brakes and will keep handy...

We've come a long way BABY! Thomas, when I was a youngster (yea, that was a long time ago) I drove Olds 88's, and though I didn't drive crazy, those Olds just WANTED to go fast. Open country in Ill. and not many on the road made it easy. I had to CHANGE the plugs at 10k mi. because they were burned up! Bet you're glad it's not that way now with your F-150, although it may have been the Champions (that you run) that were burning up, I don't remember. You and I relate, I started my life with all of the British cars, MG, Triumph, Jaguar...They ate points (bet a lot of people dont know what those are) and plugs...Yea technology is great...By the way I have a feeling you and I are close in age.

By the way the Toyota Highlander hitch is the same part and cheaper....

Yep, those are fantastic plugs...Dont even look worn or bad at 125k miles...Somebody still had the originals at 250k miles and I am not surprised...Man beats the old days when I had to clean and gap every 10k miles on the old british cars...

The bearings generally are just fine...The rubber in the strut mount is what goes bad. I know Napa sells the bearing and strut mount for around $80 but Rock Auto.com is cheaper...or try one of the online lexus parts dealers like Sewell. Also, on RockAuto's web site they offer two type of iridium NGK plugs: NGK P/N 3764 which are iridium IX or NGK P/N 4589 which is Premium Iridium. Do you recommend one over the other? I wonder what the difference is and if it is beneficial to spend a little more for the premium ones??? The NGK are good, dont know the difference but there is also Denso iridium plugs as well.

Man that is a tough one...The Lexus belts are really well made, but the v/8 engine is a little tougher on them...dont know why. I know on the RX300 the belt looked like new at 100k miles but when I changed the one on the Sequoia (I believe same engine as yours) the belt was worn a little. Time does put changes to the rubber composites in the belt...Maybe others have some ideas.

I would find out if the timing belt was done...It should have been done at 90k miles...if not that would cost some money to have done.

Yes that is the part...YOU will have to take the entire strut out and compress the spring to replace it.

I know my Lexus RX400h with the 3.3 does not have a flex pipe...another possibility is a cracked exhaust manifold. YOU would have to take the cover off the front one to investigate.

yours could be exhaust related...maybe replace the gaskets between the different pipes....

Did you lube the guide pins and brake pad support points? The caliper may be stuck and the brakes applying uneven.... As for suspension parts the lower control arm bushings can be worn or excessively hardened...Requires the entire control arm to be replaced. A 1998 Toyota Camry contol arm will fit and is a lot cheaper....

This is the bearing on the Toyota highlander, it is located somewhere between the front differential and rear differential.... At Rock Auto it is about $125, no idea how much to install...

To add to that if we had tort reform and these stupid cases were thrown out before even being considered, our society wouldnt be so messed up.
