  1. I used KYB on my RX300 and they were great...Close to oe ride....
  2. hey the 2007 es has the smart key, same basic platform, however different engine...
  3. I dont believe it does that....
  4. I hate to tell you, but I cant remember the brand, and I gave all receipts to new owner of my RX300...I did buy with ball joint as I found the price better than buying ball joint seperate. I figured, heck, the bushings are bad, may as well replace ball joint...As for tools nothing special, but you do have to disconnect the shock tower from the hub assembly to do this job...Also getting it in there is a challenge. the first side I tried to do it without removing stuff, but found it is easier to just bite the bullet and get everything out of the way...THe bolts are really tight on the control arm and I had to use breaker bars and a crow bar to get the thing out. No special tools, just a lot of stamina....
  5. That is precisely what worries me...my next door neigbor has a 2003 highlander that experienced the sludge, and because the lawsuit was filed in 2002 his vehicle was not covered, exactly the same engine, and no fixes...I hope we arent left out to hang in the wind...Sometimes their propriortory information is just plain customer unfriendly....
  6. oRDER A CONTROL ARM for a 1998 Toyota Camry... it will fit perfectly...should be able to get part for around $100 and I as well as others did this on the CLUB Lexus site...I can attest it was a perfect match...I compared them to the old arms and there was no difference except for some bracket mounts on the arm which can come off...THE bushing ideas was tried also, but without success. They seem to not stay in position...Rock AUTO was where I ordered from and the control arm can be had with, or without ball joints attached...Good lUck.
  7. Actually the roof rack remove kit includes brackets with rubber gaskets, and bolts with rubber gaskets, however I did one better and added RV putty under everything...tight as can be.
  8. OH mY goodness, symantics, I read that he had a leaking converter, and some friend had a inverter failure internally, (not leaking) Lets build a bridge and get over it. :chairshot:
  9. OK rxrey, where did you get your front end lower panel...? I did the roof rack removeal last night...Sewell Lexus sells the kit for the plastic pieces and if you mention your membership to one of the lexus sites the price drops to around $62 shipped...Man does the car look lower and sleeker without the rack...No more socker mom look....
  10. dont forget that some mercedes components use no gasket material...
  11. I hope it covers all years of 400h, not just the 2006 and 2007 because of complaints with those years...Toyota did this with the sludge problem, because of a lawsuit, but didnt cover the 2003 year and many have had sludge in those engines as well, but guess what, not covered....
  12. When was the last time the transmission was serviced? DO NOT do a transmission flush under any circumstances..... Could be just a matter of having the pan dropped and and filter being changed, then refill with fresh transmission fluid. But on the bad side, not going into overdrive is how my transmission failed. Good luck
  13. AHHHHHHH we miss your dialog.....
  14. That is just the tip of the iceburg....amazing what they get for retirement....some over 100% of their salaries...
  15. Our schools would have the necessary funds if it werent poured into non-teachings staff and outragous salaries for supertendents and vice pricipals and golden retirement hand shakes...The level of staffing outside the classroom is a crime...
  16. Go back over your work, you may have left a harness unplugged....
  17. Sounds like you have a bad coil pack on cylinder 6 which is the right front coil on the drivers side of car.
  18. Personally I would call back and make sure it sticks in this young mans head...I would say maybe these kids should mow your lawn for the summer and do any yard work on a weekly basis...I dont particularily trust parents to do as said, They pay for their kids mistakes, and dont follow thru... Years age some kids used to bash mail boxes and hit a neighbors fence....in their car..It went to juvi court and I loved the judges punishment...not only did they pay a fine, but had to come and put the fence back up...Judges orders...That is how kids learn...
  19. welcome aboard...show us pictures when you get your ride.
  20. Sorry saw that in a movie years ago, the final deterent to theft....just joking, at least they didnt ice pick the tank and steal the gas, I have heard that is a favorite way to get it now....
  21. I hear if you hook a stick of dynamite up to the fuel door it will be their last time.... :whistles:
  22. other than a junk yard one I see the strut is around $800...For that I would convert both front shocks to the regular suspension...KYB shock struts and mounts...YOU would be cheaper.. the top mount is only about $40....
  23. Yup, the manifold has to come off...and you still may have bad knock sensor....
  24. how appropriate :whistles:
