  1. MadMax96 you were correct, took my car to a independent machanic, he checked the rear carrier bushing, couldn't find anything wrong with them. :chairshot: down with the stealership
  2. www.langka.com thats the web site that was given here before.
  3. took my 92 LS400 to the dealership for oil change and filter, had a $20 coupon off the regular price of $49.95, figure i needed a car wash also, and the dealership does wash your car after they do the service. :P service writer stated that my rear carrier bushing (torn) needs to be replaced, cost about $500 My question to you all, should I replace the bushing, I have 169,252 miles on my car, I paid $5k for this car last year in Sept. Whats your opinion? I also need to replace my rear brakes also, 1MM remaining, and 8mm for my front brakes. Thanks :whistles:
  4. life is unpredicable, we all have ups and downs. the Lord watches over us in his own ways. 92 lexus is still running with 163,000 miles, it has been one year with this vehicle. brought it with 159,000 miles on it. :whistles: take care.
  5. check ebay, a company that is 20 miles north of L.A does re chroming or they will take your old chrome rims for $300 and give you 4 new chrome rims. I forgot the name of the company, I am getting senile, because i just saw it yesterday.:chairshot: Just found out the location. Its in Van Nuys called " L.A. Wheel & tires". phone # 1800 584 2832. I never purchased from them. since you live in orange county, you can call them up and check it out.
  6. :cries: I had that same problem, i got rid of my steering wheel cover, couple of times, i had over filled my gas tank, and when i pulled the gas pump handle out of the tank hole, i didn't realized i had gotten gas all over my hand, and then drove home. gasoline was transfer over to my steering wheel cover (wrapped around covers). I then took it off and tried to wash it. but i decided to throw it away. no more gas smell in my car. also clean floor mat, just in case i might of tracked in gasoline into my car. hope this help you out.
  7. ricer or ricerocket denotes japanese vehicles or motorcycles, since i live in california I couldn't tell you if other people in different states use this slur before we did.
  8. California vehicle code 5200 states all passenger vehicles must have a front and rear license plates. if you don't have one, it gives a good reason to be pulled over by law enforcement officer. do not put japanese or european license plate on your vehicle, you can be pulled over and cited for it. you are only allow one set of license plate per vehicle in California.
  9. Thanks for the input, I will have my vet (mechanic) check this out. I learn something new every day. My wife took the car today so I can't check the rear wheel.
  10. just brought new tires 2 weeks ago, this was occuring even with the old set of tires. thanks for the input.
  11. Any opinions? my 92 Ls rear wheels feels like it is dragging, My friend who was in the front passenger seats, told me that this vehicle feels like it is dragging especially when making a turn. My brakes are okay, I don't think they are bining. on the freeway, it seems to be dragging also, have to step on gas pedal a bit more to keep it at 65mph. I don't think its my imagination either. transmission fluid is a good color and does not smell burnt. vehicle has 165k miles on it. Maybe its not the rear wheel, but something is causing this vehicle to feel like it is dragging. :cries:
  12. Don't bother punching this guys light out, not worth it. :chairshot: all you end up doing is paying for a lawyer to get you out of jail, if you want to spend that money, spread it around to all of us on this forum, or donate that money to a good charity. If you loose in Court, be ready to pay the guy you punched out!
  13. Not to cheat you, but for $325, I would get into that line of work, and send the car out for detailing and it would be around $225 and I would make $100 for driving your car to a detailer and pick it up also. I wouldn't pay for it, since you used your credit card, and you have already complaint to the owners wife, and she acknowledge it, I would write to the credit card company when you get your bill, and challenge it. you won't pay a finance charge or late fee if you are contesting it. You don't have to be rich to get cheated.
  14. thanks for the reply. will see what i can find for replacement. :whistles:
  15. Does anybody no where you can buy the filter for the EGR Vaccum modulator. I had used the DIY link, was able to open the modulator and clean out the inside, but the filter is dirty. Lexus dealership does not sell the filter, they will sell the whole unit to you for $91.00 They didn't want me to pop open the cap on the new EGR Modulator so i can show them the filter inside. the part guy told me to go to Home Depot and buy a filter and cut it out to fit the Modulator. I know on the Lexls link they had mention a part number to be listed in the future. any ideal when? Thanks for any input. I went to toyota part department, they called Lexus, toyota didn't have it, only Lexus parts dept.
  16. check drainage hole, It might be clotted up. you might take an air hose and blow out the stuff inside drainage hole.
  17. :cries: hate to see your hair and skin stuck to the windshield when someone else runs the red light or stop sign. you can be a good driver, but how about the other driver who was on his cell phone or was drinking his coffee or was operating his radio system, or someone putting on make up. Have you ever seen some ones skin and meat peeled off their skull because they hit the front windshield, not a very nice scene. WEAR SEATBELT, It keeps you in control of your LS400!
  18. My 92 LS doesn't chirp either. but you can hear the lock engaged if standing close to your vehicle. :chairshot:
  19. you better check with your State DMV: regarding putting strobe lights on your vehicle. Hate to see your LS400 get impounded for impersonating a law enforcement officer. then you have to take everything apart and waste your money :cries: :chairshot:
  20. since you make a stolen car report with the police, and file with the insurance company, and they refused to honor your claim, I believe you can write this off on your taxes. please consult with IRS or your CPA. :cries: Also file a complaint with your state Insurance Commission!
  21. :chairshot: that happen to me before, I was filling the tank up and it over flow, all over the right side fender and tire. I thought i had a leak going into the interior of my car also. but found out that I had it on my hand, and shoe, and tracked it into my car. my steering wheel cover stunk also, so i got rid of it. no more smell of gas in the interior of vehicle
  22. Hey Blake, over here in california, san francisco, gas is 2.39 for 91 and is climbing. some stations has already hit $3.00 :cries: so be happy at what you are dishing out now.
  23. 162,339 and counting on my 92 LS400
  24. My 92 LS400 seat is also a pain in my a_ _ I took a 1 1/2 hour drive, and I was very uncomfortable, :cries: Tried taking my wallet out of my left rear pocket , it help alittle. Went to sharper image and got a seat cushion, only problem is when getting into the vehicle, have to adjust cushion, and make sure it doesn't slip out. slippery leather seats. I had also read some one else regarding seat comfort, he did not inflate lumbar support to it 's fulness, and was able to sit back into the lower part of the seat. I tried it, and it does help a little. so you might give that a try also. My 02 tacoma has comfortable seat, drove 8 hrs with no problems. Its funny, I had a 93 ES300, and I had no problems with the seat, very comfortable, I guess 1 year makes a different.
  25. thanks for the informations. I did over fill my gas tank twice. I kept pumping the gas into the tank, and it shot back out because it was full. what a mess. I know, Please don't top off gas when filling.
