  1. LALALux: If you're still looking to buy this car, reply back on the forum. I have some questions for you.
  2. Just bought an 06 GS myself. I'm surprised this is occurring so quickly. This process generally takes years to happen. I believe the factory uses a primer and then powder coats and seals the paint. From your pictures I'm thinking the sealer has failed or moisture has leaked into the paint and is starting to corrode the wheels. You should consider refurbishing the wheels to stop rust from forming. Are you considering replacing or repainting the wheels?
  3. The only other option i can think of would be to send my headlights out to Clearcorners. They can install LED in the housing and have an extension cable for the DRL.
  4. Are you using the stock radio to install the AUX or are you changing stereos all together?
  5. Aren't you able to use the existing cable from the DRL module. I'm not sure where the module is located but my guess would be under the driver-side kicker panel; trace it to the fuse box and run your cables to the aftermarkets.
  6. Hey, Just bought an 06 GS300 AWD a couple of days ago. So I wanted to know what kind of bolt on performance upgrades are available for the engine? Really didn't like the performance when i drove it for the first time. More power, more power!!!!
  7. Do you have any old phones listed on the mark levinson system? If you have more than five or six of them listed try deleting a couple of them.
  8. I say if you want the ISF get the it.
  9. Thank you for posting this. I'm sure many of us need to be reminded on how important the Check Engine light diagnostic is to troubleshooting.
  10. Hey Guys: I was wondering if anyone could test drive an 04 LS430 in Highland Park for me? Thinking about buying it and before i make the trip-out, I would like my fellow Lexus owners to test it for me, and provide me with some honest feedback. Please let me know if anyone can make the trip out there. Appreciate the help
  11. It could be your MAF sensor not reading the new intake or the flow. Were you able to look at what code is being produced?
  12. Okay, I've got to ask. when you say the car's overheating what do you mean? is the thermostat showing above average radiator reading or is steam coming out? I know on my SC300 I did a complete radiator flush. This can clean out any gunk and air pockets that's still in the system. I mentioned a few other checks on another post.
  13. are all your electrical sensors and plugs connected? Check all your plugs; Can you check to see if you have any check-engine codes on display. Run a search on the forum for the check engine light LS400; ODB2 was installed after 97.
  14. I would also inspect your water pump, serpentine belt, and coolant. Chances the water pump hasn't been replaced in a while so that's likely the problem. I would also inspect your radiator itself look for large dents or leaks. Do you have any check engine lights?
  15. Hey Guys: I'm sad to say this but it's time to sell off the SC300. I'd really appreciate it if someone could find me a buyer who might be interested in taking over the vehicle build. I haven't started the engine and tranny build and the interior needs restoration or to be gutted-out for something modern. This is what I've done so far. Veilside Bodykit, OZ Rally wheels off the L-Tuned GS430, TEIN HA Coilovers w/EDC (EDC not installed yet), custom 4 piston Wilwood big brake upgrade, HID headlights, and LED sidemarkers, JDM Dragon II catback exhaust. Also, paint and bodywork restoration three years old, and has a carbon fiber hood. Rebuilt Toyota steering-rack with new column bushings. -Has a minor oil pan gasket leak due to age of the engine. Asking $5000 or best offer. Here are some pics. Please let me know if you're interested.
  16. Alright. Some pics of the next IS series coming out in 2014 are coming out. There is supposedly a new 450HP F car coming as well and will be available in coupe, wagon and convertable.http://lexusenthusiast.com/2011/11/22/next-generation-lexus-is-photochops-from-japan/
  17. And then there were two. Subi sold. :`(

  18. Is this the LED brakes part of the spoiler you're looking to replace?
  19. Hmm. Have you tried to launch from 2nd gear yet? don't have an auto anymore but it feels like it might help you. There are some options available for the SC4s but they won't be cheap. I don't know if one of our old members is still around Lextreme, but he came up with a rebuilt Toyota torque converter. You can check-out his website "lextreme.com" and make contact see if he's still has some parts. the other areas to improve your launch would be a drive shaft and an LSD. I should warn you, if the transmission is defective or warn-down these options won't help at all. I hope these suggestions help.
  20. Woody: Welcome to the forum. there are a number of possible scenario you should try. 1) see if there are any loose leaves blocking the cabin air duct (between windshield and bonnet). 2) there is a control arm/latch that controls your heater and cooler from coming into the cabin. the door and latch is located on the passenger-side of the firewall. move the temp settings to max cold and then max hot to see if the door is openning and closing. 3) the Final one is what you're doing right now. a coolant flush will help, but remember to use the Toyota long-life version and use the machine. When the body shop did mine and i paid for them to flush the system they must have not used the machine beucase the engine is warming up again. Let us know how it goes.
  21. It looks like American Stitches has changed names. "Craft Customs Steering Wheels" is a company that can rebuild your steering wheel. I haven't used them yet, so I won't recommend them but we've suggested using them in past posts.
  22. Based on what I've read and conversed with others, the K&N provided about 10-20bhp to the rear-wheels based on the state of the engine. A couple of others, the Takeda, provides a bit more 25-40 hp to the rear-wheels. the Takeda may have a larger diameter tubing (2.5-3.0"). A guy from ISS Forged mentioned there was significantly more HP with the Takeda and their Street Exhaust.
  23. So what do you think of the car so far?
  24. I was the only Lexus guy in the group. Definitely a standout from the traditional BMW and Porsche crowd.
  25. Still around. Need more ISF owners though.
