  1. Not really a fan of the old leather bra. very hard to keep clean and sometime it scratched my finish. Aren't the clear-bras a factory option?
  2. Hey Everyone: I wanted to see if some of my fellow ISF owners in the DC, MD and VA areas interested in meeting up with me and some M3 and Porsche owners. The meet is on Sunday November 27 at 10am. PM me on the club or by email ucf3loc@gmail.com. Hope to meet some of you guys.
  3. Yes, this really is a quite forum. Let's remember we bought these cars for its mega power, awesome technology, and high-degree of prestige.
  4. Wow. I should have looked at this post before i got the Subi. :cries:
  5. Unfortunately, I am also letting go of my SC300 5speed. The engine is blown and it has 253k on it. If anybody is interested, I am posting pictures in the Buy and Sell forum. Look out for it.
  6. It sounds like your engine is overhearing a bit. You're saying the oil temperature gauge shows slightly above the half mark, and only the foot vents are pushing out hot air? Is your interior climate control unit pointing to the feet or feet and face at all? the center heat can be your transmission and exhaust. It's expected on cars this old. You could flush your transmission fluid if you haven't done so already; it can help reduce the heat, but I've experienced problems with the tranny once that happens.
  7. BKD: Did this solve the latch problem on your SC?
  8. Mark: I'm moving this post to the Buy and Sell forum for better coverage. Good luck, and post some pictures. We Lexus owners are picky. :)
  9. Don't think I've had that happen to me before either. I'd take it back to the shop that installed the ECM, but don't really think the ECM controls the side mirrors
  10. You guys replaced all of them? you might need to clean the connecting areas, but try to drive the car for 10 to 20 minutes. Let the sensors heat up to optimal condition. See if the error codes change.
  11. Yes, you can. there are a few available on ebay and there are a couple of companies who can refurbish the gauges.
  12. Try resetting the codes, and see if it goes away. if it does comeback I'm suspecting the time belt for the Code 13. It's possible one of the teeth might be worn so it might be moving a bit. The code 24 I'm thinking something maybe wrong with the wiring to the AirFlow meter. look for any loose connections in the plug and the harness.
  13. Now that you mention it, the idle does seem a little low. When warmed up its idling closer to 500 rpms. By losing throttle pressure, do you mean it feels like the response is a little "soft" and have to give a decent amount of throttle to get rolling? Oh, when I bought the car the previous owner had removed the stock intake box and put a small cone type filter on. I kept it on for a while, but bought a stock intake box and put it on a couple years back. Loss of throttle pressure means it drops below the normal 700-800 RPMs and starts to shake and stalls. If you're car isn't stalling out it could be the TPS, fuel injector, or spark plugs. Anybody else have any opinions.
  14. It could be your MAF that's not opening up. Are you loosing throttle pressure (drops below 8-1000RPMs)at idle?
  15. Oh, I've been there. You could try dropping the car off at a shop the night before and let the Tech look for it in the morning. So let me get this right> You go to start the car, turn the engine, and then ...
  16. Couldn't say exactly what might be going on, but my neighbor mentioned a similar hesitation when he drives. there are a number things you should try out. -check out the timing belt. --check for cracked hoses and belts. -check out the fuel pump and the pressure. -check out the torque converter. -check out the shifting solenoids in the throttle body of the transmission -check out the spark plugs and wires... (I know you mentioned you got them replaced. Hopefully they're the correct type).. Look for spark. -check out if there are any check engine codes, not being displayed or displayed. --there is a possibility it might be the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS) might be malfunctioning. -the problem my neighbor had was a bad ignition coil; got it replaced and it worked out for him.
  17. I'm with these guys. The 95-96 gets better gas mileage than the RX; plus the insurance will be cheap. I think it's a no-brainer.
  18. Borris: Welcome to the club. This is definitely a project. I've been working on my project for the past 8 years, mainly because of money, and it's turning out nicely. Okay, for the chassis and suspension, i would recommend the cage for that solid rigidness feel and personal safety. Suspension, JIC Coilovers or Tien Coilovers (my favorite) will do the trick; oh don't forget about the EDC if you go tracking. Other suspension. the upper and lower control arms are the same as the Toyota Supra TT. I don't really recommend the DIazen bushings kit because they squeak after a while; very annoying. I would recommend a ticket sway bar for the front. OEM is kind-off soft and I don't think it will hold up to high stress driving, if you're into that like i am. The rear suspension should be the same as in the toyota Supra, and the differential should be open. Some LSD would be recommended. Brakes. I went with Wilwood 14" discs with two channel calipers. There is a Brembo kit out there I would recommend that, and i would recommend changing the master cylinder as well. The OEM acted funny and leaked after three years of braking. this should hopefully get you started with your research; I would check what some of the other members have done to their SCs. It's definitely a great car and great purchase, but since you've bought someone else's mess it going to be tough for a while.
  19. You could post them on the Buy Sell forum and see if someone will buy them off you.
  20. Yeah, upload a couple of images so that we can look to see if it's something vital.
  21. Hey guys: I just traded in my Infiniti for an IS-F and I'm coming across something curious. At a cruising 50 mph, and the moon-roof is completely open... do you hear the air vibrate? I'm already estimating the wind-deflector is likely to solve this issue but I wanted to see if this is a common IS design problem? Appreciate the help.
  22. Just bought mine last month on my birthday. Yours had 9200 miles. Very jealous, but still love it.
  23. Never used them before, but it should do the trick, if you're still searching.
