  1. Here are a few pages of what you're looking for........read on: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...f=7&t=3584&st=0
  2. Just a thought: By any chance do you have your climate control turned on? The reason being, if the air conditioner compressor cycles on and off that can make the car lurch slightly. ;)
  3. Using the ECT just changes the shift points to get maximum acceleration from a standing start. It's not the most economical gas wise 'cause the engine RPM's go higher in each gear in this position. The transmission is built to use this function so I don't think that it'll hurt it any.
  4. I do! hee hee hee. :P :D
  5. When you have a leak that fast it shouldn't be that hard to find. They could put the car up on a lift and see where it's coming from. I'd always prefer having this sort of leak rather than a slow one. ;)
  6. Don't you know that you're supposed to keep a pee bottle in the trunk. Your local Lexus dealer sells these at the parts counter. :P
  7. The 1993 ES300 has a non-interference engine, so if the timing belt breaks your engine wouldn't be destroyed. The could happen at the most inconvenient time, so why chance it? The scheduled maintenance on your car to have it replaced is 60K miles! The later models should be changed at 90K miles.
  8. Is this any better?
  9. Too bad.....sometimes I'd like to delete a post without bothering you guys! I have my website set up so this can be done by the poster. :(
  10. You could register your car here: https://auth.owners.lexus.com/lexusowners/a...2fssl%2fWelcome After doing this there is a place where you can order a new Owners Manual. Go to "quick links" and press Order New Owners Manual. ;)
  11. Yeah.....That's the name of the game today! Years ago you could get the simplest of parts from dealers, whether it was brushes for a starter motor or bearings for an alternator, etc, etc. It's the same thing with electronic parts in any field. The attitude today is, just throw them out and replace the whole thing. Rebuilding components is a thing of the past because labor costs are so high. I think it stinks....give me the good old days!
  12. If it's a Windom it probably does not meet the U.S. emission requirements. But I'm guessing.
  13. Part of the cost will be to upgrade the emission requirements in the States. I don't think that's cheap.
  14. Did the Beemer hesitate? ;)
  15. Yes......The Audi A8L uses electronic linkage(drive by wire). NO hesitation and NO jarring!

  17. If that statement is true than how come after driving an 2004 Audi A8L I couldn't replicate this jarring or hesitation that Lexus's exhibit? I could push the accelerator down either fast or slow and this transmission downshifted and found the proper gear with ease! I didn't have to concentrate on doing everything correctly.....this car just did it! I will NEVER be convinced that it's not possible to have a Lexus "drive by wire" system follow the input of a driver without nursing it along. I'm sure that this technology will be completely corrected in future models. IMO.
  18. Is your master cylinder empty when your pedal goes down to the floor? If you have to keep refilling this cylinder you have a leak which has to be checked where it's coming from. This has to be determined first.
  19. By all means get the software upgrade.....you can't make it any worse than it is now! Remember this old adage: You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
  20. Welcome: No you won't be laughed off this site! In fact the more input we get the better it is for all of us that have been plagued with this problem. So let me get this straight. Your car had the software update done previously and you expect them to do another newer update?? I have been using premium fuel since my transmission update and I've put on about 1000 miles and the hesitating problem still exists. I've also driven 2 '03 ES models with the update and they both shifted very poorly. So far I think this transmission stinks and I'm waiting to test drive the '04 to see if it exhibits these quirks. Please keep us informed.
  21. They changed that in the '02-'03-'04. It works exactly the opposite. When you turn on your alarm the light is on solid, and then after about 30 seconds it starts blinking when it's armed.
  22. Sorry, I disagree with this statement! Years ago I worked on the sound system for "Studio 54" in New York City. We did acoustic voicing of that sound system using calibrated microphones and test instruments to get the best sound in this disco installation. It's too complicated to tell you exactly what this procedure entailed, but it was very complex. My friends who are accomplished Audio technicians(engineers) did similar testing on my '03 ES and found that we couldn't tweak the ML sound system much more than was done by the people that did this originally when designing this sound system. Frequency Response was pretty flat. Distortion figures were also very low. All and all this ML system would not be so "easily" improved. If you're technically minded I could give you all the figures of our findings. ;)
  23. pasgal: Where do you live, and who is the dealer, so we can warn the other members about your bad experiences?
  24. Years ago they didn't have multi-viscosity oils like they do today. Example: If you used a SAE20 weight oil the thickness stayed the same whether the oil was cold or hot. The multi-viscosity oils like say 10W40 acts like SAE10(thinner oil) when it's cold and SAE40(thicker oil) when it's hot. That's why I stuck to a regular(not synthetic) High Quality oil for my car. If it's good enough for the Toyota Motor Car Company to put this into their engines, it's good enough for me! ;)
  25. I always split the difference........I use 30psi for front and back. I used this on my '94 and I continued using it on my '03. Even at 30psi the tires still look low, but I found this a good compromise. ;) BTW: When my '03 was delivered to me the tire pressure was 37psi in one of the tires and the rest varied between 26psi to 32psi. I was really surprised that the dealer didn't check this before delivery. <_<
