  1. What you are referring to is the Actuator Assembly for the Anti-Lock Brake System(ABS).
  2. The door panel has to be removed to make this adjustment. I can't tell you what bolts have to be loosened to change the angle of the window glass, but I'm sure that any Lexus dealer can tell you this.
  3. The window glass can be adjusted to fit more tightly against the rubber seal. I would try this fix before changing the seal, unless the rubber is all dried up. A spray coating of silicon helps keep the rubber seal from drying up. Yes, it is a design flaw that continued from the '92 to '01 ES's. They changed this design starting with the '02 ES.
  4. When the alarm is activated it blows the horn. If you have a panic button on your remote key, you press this button and hold it a few seconds until the alarm starts. You stop it by pressing any button on your key. The little beep just notifies you that the system is activated or de-activated.
  5. Do you get the smell inside the passenger compartment with all the windows closed?
  6. On the bottom of your dashboard(on the drivers side) there should be a little black knob that turns like a volume control to adjust the loudness of the beep. Even when it's turned up full the sound is not very loud.
  7. Are you sure that the trunk release switch in the glove compartment is in the active position? If it's not, that'll prevent the dash trunk release switch from opening the trunk.
  8. If all you are doing is changing the speakers to an aftermarket type, all you have to do is cut off the terminal ends from the speaker wiring harness and solder these wires to the speaker terminals on the replacement speakers. If you do that, make sure that you use the correct polarity, otherwise they'll be out of phase and the sound will suffer. Read this to give you an idea of what I mean: http://www.sfxaudio.com/AudioSchool/installspkr.asp
  9. There are shielded signal cables to carry the signal to the amp! Whether they are terminated with RCA jacks is another story. When I said RCA cables, I was trying to differentiate between the unshielded type of wire as used for the speakers as opposed to the shielded type.
  10. The drive belt turns the alternator that charges the battery. If the belt is not broken, than most likely your alternator has gone bad. :( I don't know what the replacement cost would be. Naturally, doing this type of replacement at Lexus Service will cost you more then going to a regular service shop. Generally, it's not a difficult job to do though.
  11. Hey Wubb, I brightened it up a little. ;)
  12. Don't do that.....it's poison!!! :chairshot:
  13. Hey SW03ES, I just got a background check about your past! You weren't the angel that you seemed to imply. :D
  14. Hey Man, SLOW DOWN!!!
  15. I felt very sad when I saw the look on the kids face. :( Remember the old adage, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." We were all young once. ;)
  16. Sorry for asking you about your profile.....I didn't realize you have a lot of things to hide.
  17. Hey, Latoilette.......where do you live? You don't have any information in your profile!!
  18. Here is one of the many products you can get to eliminate this odor from your air conditioner: Click this
  19. The problem with HID lights are they're soo bright that they blind the oncoming drivers especially if they're not adjusted correctly. That's why the Lexus and other factory installed HID systems are auto-leveling. Lets assume that you have passengers in the back seat of your car, or added weight in your trunk, the back of the car goes down and your lights are now projecting a beam higher than normal. that's the main reason the DOT outlawed this type of light system. If you adjust these lights to compensate for the added weight you defeat the whole purpose of the added intensity.
  20. Why do you constantly take your car to redline? An ES is NOT a dragster!
  21. No body differences between the '03-'04, except the badges say ES330 instead of ES300.
  22. Call your local Motor Vehicle office and ask if HID lights are legal in Minnesota. ;)
  23. Every jurisdiction has its own rules and regulations governing the use of automotive lighting. XENON HID lighting systems that are supplied with the vehicles from the factory are DOT approved. NO XENON HID lighting system available from any source is DOT approved if installed outside of the factory.
  24. Wrong! If your ignition system is working properly a platinum spark plug will give you as good a spark as the copper spark plug. This is accomplished by using a larger gap between the electrodes in the platinum type. Also, the ES ignition systems have NO problems firing a spark plug with the wider gap. ;)
