  1. Update: I received this compressor and brought it down to my car to test it out. Well, It did everything it was supposed to do.....perfectly! I checked the accuracy of the tires inflation with a very accurate tire gauge. They were all within ¼ lb. of each other. Simply put.....I love it! The best $25 bucks I've spent in a long time. It's great when you find a product that works exactly as advertised.
  2. To give you an idea of the price: The wheel you want in 18" Chrome would cost you approximately, 82,000 Yen. Convert that to US Dollars and each wheel would cost you, $766.50 plus shipping. Lotsa bucks!!
  3. Those rims are from Japan. Here is the link you need: http://www.auto-couture.com/catalog/lexus/
  4. I'd go for the extra bucks and get factory parts. I haven't done any heavy duty engine repairs recently, but when I did, I always found out, that's the best way to go. ;)
  5. I just bought a new portable air compressor for your tires that I think is terrific & accurate. It costs $24.95 including shipping. I don't work for this company, but when I see and use a product that works so great I like to spread the word. You can check it out here: http://www.smartcarproducts.com/products_page.html

  10. Lex3486's pictures follow this post.
  11. Lex: You can send the pictures to amf1932@aol.com
  12. The resolution is much too high for the internet. It should be 72dpi. If you send them to me I can correct them for you, and then send them back to you. ;)
  13. As said before in previous posts, aftermarket HID systems are now illegal in most of the 48 states!
  14. The wallet key in the '02-'04's doesn't have an activating chip, but the wallet keyholder does. To use this key you put it in the ignition and then turn it to start while holding the keyholder close to the ignition switch.
  15. Would you believe that I had the original batteries in my key remote for my '94ES, and that was after using this key for almost 9 years! Also, I never changed a bulb in the entire car! That's the truth. ;)
  16. Actually, all I used was a rag to sop up the oil on the chassis, but if you want you can put gasoline or an oil solvent on the rag to really clean up the spilled oil better. I might add, be careful doing this because some oil solvents or gasoline are very flammable.
  17. I definitely had this problem with my '94 ES whenever my Lexus dealer changed the oil. That's why I decided to to this maintenance myself, more carefully. The main problem is the location and angle of the oil filter. Some oil can spill onto the crossmembers and the exhaust manifold. The hot exhaust burns up this oil residue and you see or smell smoke. After a while it'll burn off and everything will be OK.
  18. The '95 ES did not have traction control. :(
  19. I think they should be re-painted. It definitely would be a lot cheaper and they'll once again look like new. If you're not familiar with doing this I would check with a local body shop......it's no big deal. ;)
  20. You left NO information as to the year of your car, but if it's an '02 to '04 it's located near the bottom of the dashboard near your right knee.
  21. There is the possibility that the power steering belt is slipping slightly. I would try to tighten it up a bit and see if you still get that dolphin sound.
  22. Firstly, what year ES are you talking about? You didn't leave your car year in your profile. Secondly, Lexus doesn't give the power ratings in RMS...they only give you THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) ratings. Thirdly, these figures are different, depending on the year of the car.
  23. No it's not! Why would you need to do that? The engine RPM will be higher than normal. You waste gas. The lower gears are mainly for the car to get up to speed and not used extensively. The engine life will definitely be shortened. :chairshot:
  24. That's true also. Checking Nickel Oxide batteries is sometimes inaccurate. They might test good, but they're not.
  25. The contacts in the key may be oxidized. I would get a contact cleaner from a place like Radio Shack and try that. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cata...ct%5Fid=64-4315
