Hi Thomas, My best guess is to simply call the parts department at a Lexus dealer. Paul

Hi Eddie and welcome! You can buy a new key blank and a dealer or lock smith can cut it for you.. The most important thing is that the key must be programed to match your specific ignition and locks. You can try ebay, a lock smith, salvage yard(would need to be re programed.) or a Lexus dealer. The dealer is probably the most expensive but will do the best with programing. Paul

Johnny, Paul is insane and drools in his soup. He has a hunchback, a peg leg and thinks he is Napoleon one day and Fidel Castro the next. Pay no attention to him. Jim These assertions are totally false. I do NOT drool in my soup and I challenge anyone to prove it Paul

Hi Tim and Welcome! Year after year, Lexus owners have discussed the whys and wherefores are the best fuel grades for their model Lexus. In addition, as updated models come out, Lexus has changed some engines to run on different octane blends. Around 2010 several engines were modified to accept 87 octane to 91 octane as well. In my 2010 ES350 it was designed to use 87 or 91 octane. Given this ongoing puzzle of fuel choices I recommend using what the Owners Manual recommends. This helps protect you from any problems that could come from a fuel choice and will give you the best engine performance. Paul

Do you long for the time when on a Saturday night, you would put it in 1st and take off in a scream of burning rubber, only to be topped with more bark courtesy of that V8 with a Hurst shifter. This writer says the manual transmission is making a burning come back. Check out this article regarding the customers pushing for more models with the power and transmission of yore. What do you think? Should we bring back the clutch?? Paul http://www.autoblog.com/photos/best-manual-transmission-cars/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl10|sec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D79009799

Hi Bjamin and welcome. The issue of MPG is a constant ping pong game. As you said, bouncing results back and forth gives the driver a poor estimate of how much fuel they would need for a trip. Additionally, allocation for a cost per gallon makes it difficult to calculate your fuel budget for say a month to plan your cost for monthly needs. Having said that, the responsibility for estimated MPG is not up to the manufacturer but the EPA. Specif MPG are set by the EPA and are required that all autos meet those standards. If the consumer does not get the estimated figure I'm not sure how a Class Action Suit could provide any remedy. If the manufacturer meets the required, current standards, and those standards are estimates, it would seem that finding a remedy would be like nailing Jello to a wall. Paul

98 Gs400 Blank Navigation Screen
pj8708 replied to MayorofEastCtown's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Hi Peter and again welcome. I appreciate your writing skills! Of course the first thing one would check is power/ fuse. But since you've got at least a color on the screen and letters when you turn it on that would not be your problem. Have you checked or researched re-booting the software? I don't have any personal experience with this, but I have heard of others looking into it. Another item is the wiring in the trunk hinges. At the time of manufacturer a problem with some of the wires rubbing as it passed through the trunk hinge channels started showing up. You might try doing a search here and see if there have been any post regarding the trunk hinge wiring. I think other members will chime in here and have more helpful information Paul- 11 replies

Hi Tommy! Yours is always the classic question. Did I pay to much? We bought a 2013 RX 350 for my wife, new and even paid cash (no financing), Our RX is not a hybrid and I'm not sure how much the up-charge is for that configuration. We included Blue Tooth, Navigation, standard audio package, (No Levinson), auto wipers, roof rack, climate seats, The bottom line came to $50,000. At first blush that seems like a big difference, but again I don't know how much more the hybrid is. A tour of dealers on the net might give you some real life ideas. Paul

Hi Jon and welcome. There are a couple of places to look for your information. The easiest one is to ask your dealer. Some may not be thrilled by this but will help a good customer. Another choice is "Toyota Information services". This is an official Toyota site covering every technical detail on all models of Toyota, Lexus , and Scion. Log on to TIS.com and register. 2 days of access is $15.00. Let us know how things turned out. Paul

Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
pj8708 replied to Cliff in Baton Rouge's topic in 01 - 06 Lexus LS430
Your year of Lexus does not have the individual tire read out. However, I do have it on my 2013 ES350. I think the tire monitoeing started around 2012. I wonder if the people mounting your new tires reused the "Sending Valve" units in the new tires. If so, if the old valves were defective, and reused, you may still have the same problem. The Valve Stem Senders are expensive so I suggest getting several estimates. Welcome to the LOC. Paul -
First, I'm so sorry about your Mothers transition. I had the same experience with both my parents. I hope she does well in the coming weeks. The old key on the car body trick is an act apparently reserved for those with IQ's of a head of lettuce. I've often thought about the LOC forming it's own squad of "Lexus Seals". There mission would be to track down "Keyers" and put super glue in all their house key locks. That way, they wouldn't be able to get out of the house so they couldn't key anymore cars. Paul

Does Anyone Recognize These Supposed Dealer-option Wheels?
pj8708 replied to Big Iron's topic in General Chat
My dealer frequently buys after market wheels for the customers preference. Lexus wheels, until the last few years have offered rather conservative choices, but seem to be improving their options for today's buyers. Paul -
Hi Lenore, Reading through the entire post, and the number and names of links, It is spam in that he directs anyone to try this supplies and so on. To me, there is too much focus on what he can do. Paul
