Knightshade Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I assume it's taking your average and multiplying that by the amount in a full tank. Since your average changes, so would your range. I've got about 2300 miles on an IS350 BTW and I'm around 23 mpg lifetime average... I've only taken one real highway trip (about 700 roundtrip miles) and averaged a little over 28 mpg for that trip... closer to 20-22 mpg in the rest of my mixed mostly city driving. So overall I'm getting just about dead on what the pre-revised EPA numbers said.
Sigma Projects Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 lol, some of you IS350 guys sound like what my Astro would get, which was 15mpg city and 17~19 freeway. I wonder if I could get 20 city with my 350 Celica combo since the celica is so light.
Manolo1 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 My computer is right on all the time (less than 0.5 mpg difference)
stealth IS350 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 i put a intake on my IS350 and my gas ave went from 16.5 city to 21mpg. I have found on my many trips on the I10 from san bernardino to indian wells that if i go 95-100 i get the best gas mileage possible. I have actually gotten up to 33mpg on the frwy doing about 100 on a long 75 mile trip. the worst gas mileage is at the 75mph on the frwy. the car was built for speed and likes to be driven fast. for those that can accommodate the 90+ mph you will be rewarded with much much better gas mileage. I love this car and many many tanks of gas have gone by very fast in my pursuit of fun with it. I have taken it all the way up to 145mph and not hit the limiter. anyone hit it yet? the car was in heaven and was/is built for speed and fun.
SmartKey Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 The best mpg I have got is 34. This was because I was trying hard to get the best mpg the car can give. To get this kind of mileage, I had to drive very conservatively. Mainly driving with minimum acceleration and braking. If any acceleration reuqired, accerating very slowly. Also, I let go off the gas whenever I could and tried to maintain a constant speed. The fastest I went during this experiment was 60 mph. Under normal driving condition I get an average of about 26-27 mpg.

How are you getting up to 100 mph from San Bernardino to Redlands????? Ya gotta get past Yucaipa to get past all that traffic!! ;-) Okay, I have the 250, and I was just gonna start looking for the old topic, and saw it's a new one again! I started keeping track of my mileage on Gasbuddy.com, and it's gone from 28 to 25 in the past month. What gives? I've been trying not to accelerate fast, hit the brakes hard, and I'm normally on constant freeway speed (usually 70-75, maybe 80). I do notice, however, that if I gas up, then head to work, I get the better mileage overall, with the freeway being the starting mileage. If I gas up and stick around town for a day before heading to work, the mileage is worse.

Indian wells is between palm desert and la quinta. its a traight shot, 75 miles from csusb where i was going to school to indian wells. went the fastest between morongo and the windmills. Im telling you, get it up to the 100 neighborhood and the gas mileage goes up. over 100 it starts to flatten off and go down a little.
bartkat Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Over how many miles and how many tanks have you tested this?
stealth IS350 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Over how many miles and how many tanks have you tested this? 20,000 miles over 9 months. 150 miles a day 4 days a week. what can i say the car loves speed.
lambobaby1218 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I know where Indian Wells is. I just can't figure out how you're getting the mileage with traffic in between SB and Yucaipa, is all. <_<
bartkat Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I went from Ontario to Palm Desert and back a couple times. I never thought about going fast though cause we had a stupid little rental car. :D I remember a bunch of windmills on the hillsides and an Indian casino and outlet store that we passed.

Good memory, Bartkat!!! You should see that Indian casino now, it's about 15 stories high.....okay, off topic, I know. I just had to comment, sorry!

I needed cash and there was a big line at the window and the ATM was out of order so I just left. LOL
ogara Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hi everybody ! Can anybody tell me what is his average mpg ?
tex2670 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hi everybody ! Can anybody tell me what is his average mpg ? 19-21 on my AWD.
Manolo1 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 According to my "gasbuddy.com" records I have an avg consumption of 21.22 mpg in 26 fill ups. I find it great as my previous sports car (slower than my IS350) was getting less than 20... Of course, my average speed (on the tollway..) is somewhere between 90 and 110 mph...
ryukensfj Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 My calculated figure is within 1-2 mpg w/ my computer
lambobaby1218 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I may have figured out why my gas mileage has gone down: Nail in the sidewall of my tire. Once I get the car back from the dealership (after the 15,000 service, as well), I'll let ya know if I get better mileage. You should see what I went through to find a good price for the tire. Firestone wanted $330. Lexus wanted $275. Another dealer wanted $380, and insisted that it was a run-flat tire, even though I told him it wasn't. My consultant at Lexus did it for $275 plus tax, waived labor. I'm sure he does that for everybody else, but it still made me feel special, and so I went back to them, plus the convenience. I'm driving an RX right now!!! lol. Oh, and somebody had a brand-new IS250 with some hot wheels on them (with a Lexus logo, mind you!), I'm gonna have to check that out........
kha630 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 im getting between 22.9-24.8 mpg @about 1k milage in the city. and i have a pretty heavy foot. bare in mind i also live in fl with absolutely no hills, also i belive my county spends the most money on maintaining their roads. haha
Manolo1 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 My lifetime average is 21.7 but in this tank I am experimenting and after 150 miles I am getting 30 mpg !!! I am driving really slooow... One tank and that's it. Hopefully I will raise the lifetime avg to 22 mpg...
vgonzalez06 Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I have 1000 miles on mine and MPG is getting better with each tank. It was like 22 for the first tank. Im at about 24. I do a mix of city and HWY.
ZackDuchene Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I retract my previous post, it is not exactly that good. I just put the first tank of gas in the car and it looks like just about 21 MPG.
