who knows how to reset the oil light?
-
for the first time i looked at my headlight covers and they look like they are 20 years old. they have a weird wear and looked oxidized and badly beaten from the elements. I live in cali in the palm desert area and have had the car for about a year and a half. anyone else have this issue? if so did the dealer take care of it?

Factory Brakes Question
stealth IS350 replied to clay1's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
The brake TSIB is valid throughtout the 4 year/50,000 mile warranty period. Just take it in and complain about the brake dust and squeeking. If they don't offer to replace the pads under warranty, tell them you saw a message on the internet about a brake technical service bulleting from Lexus and ask them if they can look. If they still say they won't do it, ask them to call Lexus. And if that doesn't work, YOU call Lexus and complain about the brake dust and squeeking! Thanks I did what you said... no problem at all. I was surprised that you have until 49,999 miles. Mostly seen people on the boards talk about replacing around 15K to get the wear out of them, so I thought that was the unofficial cutoff. thanks again. Hey question, what dealership did you have it done at. I live in palm desert ca and I tried to have it done and they said my breaks were to far worn to replace them. I just turned 26k, and this was about 3-4 months ago that they denied... -

The Great Oil Change Discussion
stealth IS350 replied to bun's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I just recently changed my oil to that Royal Purple synthetic, and I can say that I have noticed a difference. The car idols quieter and there has been a slight jump in HP. I saw the oil on horsepower tv when they ran a big block V8 on reg and then switched out to the Royal Purple and gained 8hp to the rear on the dyno. Whether I get extra HP or not, the car runs smoother and I would reco the $60 cost to do it. -
hey i wanted to know if anyone has gotten a set of those window vents that are out there. I keep seeing them on ebay and I have seen them on a few pics and was wondering if they helped the wind buffeting with the windows down. it seems like they might because they would change the air pattern of the car. hit me back if anyone has done it. How are you getting up to 100 mph from San Bernardino to Redlands????? Ya gotta get past Yucaipa to get past all that traffic!! ;-) Okay, I have the 250, and I was just gonna start looking for the old topic, and saw it's a new one again! I started keeping track of my mileage on Gasbuddy.com, and it's gone from 28 to 25 in the past month. What gives? I've been trying not to accelerate fast, hit the brakes hard, and I'm normally on constant freeway speed (usually 70-75, maybe 80). I do notice, however, that if I gas up, then head to work, I get the better mileage overall, with the freeway being the starting mileage. If I gas up and stick around town for a day before heading to work, the mileage is worse. Well its not redlands. Indian wells is between palm desert and la quinta. its a traight shot, 75 miles from csusb where i was going to school to indian wells. went the fastest between morongo and the windmills. Im telling you, get it up to the 100 neighborhood and the gas mileage goes up. over 100 it starts to flatten off and go down a little. -
I bought some cutouts for my front headlights that didnt fit for *BLEEP*. I too ordered the reflector ones off of ebay and quickly slapped them on. I went to a local aftermarket shop and had my taillights painted for $200. best money i have ever spent. looks so bad !Removed!. i reco that you call around and find a place to do it. may be hard because it is illegal to do so. luckily i have yet to get pulled for it.

i put a intake on my IS350 and my gas ave went from 16.5 city to 21mpg. I have found on my many trips on the I10 from san bernardino to indian wells that if i go 95-100 i get the best gas mileage possible. I have actually gotten up to 33mpg on the frwy doing about 100 on a long 75 mile trip. the worst gas mileage is at the 75mph on the frwy. the car was built for speed and likes to be driven fast. for those that can accommodate the 90+ mph you will be rewarded with much much better gas mileage. I love this car and many many tanks of gas have gone by very fast in my pursuit of fun with it. I have taken it all the way up to 145mph and not hit the limiter. anyone hit it yet? the car was in heaven and was/is built for speed and fun. -

hey i was wondering if anyone has replaced their stock H11 bulbs with anything good on the aftermarket. I have tried a few different lights but nothing comes close to the output of the stock bulbs. I see other cars with bright aftermarket that are not HID and want to know where to get bulbs that are bright and close to the 5000K-6000K output.

I slapped a cold air intake on my 350, and wow what a difference. the thing is a beast. monster grumble from under the hood under full acceleration and a nice note with just a tap of the gas. i can now hit 60mph before i need to shift to third using the paddles. got mine off of ebay and installed in like 15 min. going to get a tanabe exhaust soon and really listen to it howl.
