chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 OK! Three pictures. Really hard to take a picture when the light is actually blinking! This one is just the front of my car at night
chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 OK, this one is just the back of my car, just the rear blinker at night
chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 OK, this is one of my front with the light actually blinking. By the way, my corners are actually blue when you just look at them, but when they actually blink, they blink a really bright white, thus the bulbs are superwhites.
chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 After posting the pictures, I realize that these pictures are small!!!!!
chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 Much better, you can actually see the car now!
H8R Proof Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Ok - I want to do this now! How did you do this?? :D
SW03ES Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Its really simple, just buy the bulb you like, then swap it out. All the color is included in the bulb.
SW03ES Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Never mind, yours is a 98. Unfortunately your lamp housings are amber. In order to do this you'd have to replace all the lamp housings.
chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 dang, thank goodness that the 03 comes with the corners clear already, makes it easy to have to just replace the bulb. I guess if you want to clear your corners, you can do a search on it, there's a lot of threads that talk about clearing corners :D
steviej Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 that is my next mod. Did you go with PIAA xtreme whites? What was the actual bulb brand wattage and number. ie 7440 or 7443. steviej
chillaxin Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 i went with bulbs called superwhites, but lemme look into the bulb wattage number etc :) don't know it off the top of my head :P
SW03ES Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 At some point here I'm going to track down those Silvervision bulbs and swap mine out.
FLiP Sp33d Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 is it street legal if the blinkers emit a blue glow? traditional blikers are orange, does it have to be like that?
steviej Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 steve, you and me both for the silvervision. Only prob is our bulbs are 7440/7443 wedges and the silvervisions only come in 1156 old style. I have gone to Philips "contact us" and dropped a request that they consider coming out with the silvervision in wedge style. sj.
chillaxin Posted July 22, 2003 Author Posted July 22, 2003 ok, checked the bulbs, they're 7440 bulbs. as far as being street legal, it is (as far as i know) not legal to have your blinkers blinking any other color than amber. however, the new bmw's that are coming out these days all have clear corners and are blinking white. so i guess you can take your pick, cool looks with the possibility of getting pulled over and getting a fix it ticket, or the traditional look B)
SW03ES Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Steve, I may have an alternative for us. I've found a couple of other companies that make bulbs similar to the silvervision. When I find one that looks reputable, I'll post it.
zeta Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 those silvervision bulbs are neat-o. i wanna get some for my '93, but since the car is my mom's... she controls what i'm allowed to change on the car. lol. since she's paying for it. too hard for me to get a job right now. stupid economy.
