Hi guys I took your advice and managed to get a new remote keyfob online...I saved a lot of money - thanks so much for that. I know the instructions for programming are here, and I'm prepared to do that, but forgive my ignorance with this question: I don't understand how the "fob" can be programmed when it is separate from the actual key? The key is the only thing actually IN the ignition when following the programming steps. The fob is separate. Am I missing something really obvious here? Hope to hear from someone asap - if I have to open the doors one more time manually I'm going to trade this car in. j/k :) Thanks guys.... P.S. Should I also be concerned that the new one I have looks WAY different from the one I had that died???

lexus-parts.com should have replacement keys for your car or try ebay. You can program the key yourself too using one of the many threads for key programming in the forum. ← SUPER! A million thanks. I'm on it. High Five :D

Hi everyone - Happy New Year I posted about this about a month ago...but still need help. My remote key thing will not work. I've had several new batteries put in, still nothing. Checked the manual and I don't have that particular switch underneath the steering wheel to turn on/off. Today I finally visited the dealer and after trying one last time with a new battery, they decided that I need a new key thing/transmittor altogether. Cost: $180 *ouch* So...is there any way around this? Can these keyfobs be purchased online or elsewhere cheaper, and then taken to the dealer for programming? In the meantime I have to open my door manually with the key and MAN DO I HATE IT <_< Thanks!!

Hey everyone - long time no "see". Hope Santa was good to everyone ;) Anyway, I have had the battery replaced in the key fob-thing 5 times already, and the thing still won't open/lock my doors. Have to manually use the key (drag). I checked the manual and looked for this mysterious button underneath the steering wheel but I don't see it anywhere. Am I overlooking something very obvious here?? :cries:

But anyway...! Is there any type of mod available that will enable the sunroof to close with one push of a button? I love that it opens with this option, but having to hold that lever while it closes (and then stops halfway ) is a pain.

Could someone give me a hand? I have an animated Avatar that I would really like to use (on this board and on another) but when I try, it doesn't work. Normally the error message reads that the file size is too big, and I don't know how to minimize or cut it. And I don't have Photoshop :( Thanks!!

Mine does this too. (HI EVERYONE BY THE WAY) :) I just close the darn thing about 1/2 an inch. No more noise :)

The car is running perfectly fine - smooth as always - no rough idle or anything...is an emissions problem a serious condition? I did completely fill up my tank this afternoon with premium gas ($35.00 - <_<)

Hello people Well of course I had to jinx myself the other day by boasting about how my beloved car has not given me one single problem since purchasing it a year ago! Earlier this week the "Check Engine" light came on while I was driving. I just had an oil change the week prior - not sure if that's relevant. So I checked the manual like a good girl, and proceeded to check the gas cap and all that good stuff -but to no avail. I concluded that it was time for a $450.00 tune-up at the dealer. :cries: Mind you I have barely put 5K miles on this car since I got it! Now, I should add that with gas prices being ridiculously high out here in L.A. - I haven't been buying premium gas - as a matter of fact my gas tank hasn't been over a half of a tank full for about a month now - I have bad car karma any time I fill up my tank - but that's another story! So this morning on my way to work - the light mysteriously went off! Just like that. I got so excited I even opened the sunroof ;) Any advice or insight as to why this would happen? Happy 4th everyone!!
