I've been searching thru a lot of websites to get a car cover. This is the first time i need a car cover because i now have 3 cars, but only have a 2 car garage. I hate to have cats scratch my hood or roof so i need a good durable car cover, that's also water repellent to sprinklers, and if possible, to rain also. They all say that they're water repellent, and whatever but i dont know which one to trust. all the "water repellent" covers range from $150-$800. So does anyone recommend a good site to get one? I plan on getting a GX size one, so it'll fit my 4Runner and Ody when i cycle all the cars to sleep outside. Winter's coming around, and i need a more durable cover than the one i got from Pep Boys for $75 just to use for the meantime during this summer. Thanks guys. ;)

$2k, that much for a new wheel? well the $400 i quoted is like some shop that sells steering wheels, in San Francisco. Heard some 4Runner owner changed his steering wheel that costed him $400 so he could have a wood grain on the wheel. ;)

Should I Buy 2007 Rx350 Or Highlander?
denslexusgx470 replied to Montalvo's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Although in the long run, it's a lot cheaper to maintain a Toyota compared to a Lexus. The prices of the services are definitely cheaper, and speaking about extended warranty. It's like $2k for extended Lexus warranty, while Toyota's is about $800-$1000. Besides, a $850 repair isn't much (as SW mentioned). I remember my dad was spending lots of money on the wear and tear of the odyssey ($400 here, $650 there, another $850 on something else, $500, etc etc) , and the only time he ever mentioned (or us, really) about getting a new one, was when the dealer said that it has early signs of tranny problems, which would cost about $5000 parts and labor. I would imagine if someone told you that you had a $5000 bill on a repair, I'd think you'd trade that car into the dealer at that moment and get whatever new car that is on the lot. lol. ;) Think of it this way, you spend money on repairs. Fine, so let's do the math. So $850 for a repair. Any more? Let's say you spent, oh $1500 on repairs this year for your RX. Now let's compute a Highlander LEASE for one year. The figures that were given to me were about $320 (just a V6, w/homelink, alarm, and DRL) and $3,000 down. (Imagine what a Highlander LTD w/Nav lease would be.... ) $320 a month x 12 months = $3,840 (for the first year) So in a 3 year lease, you're looking at $11,520. Now let's say you spent $1500 this year, $2000 next year, and two years from now, $2500. Add that up, that's about only $6000(in a span of 3 years). So It's your call, but so far, aside from new features like better turning radius, Nav, or simply just sick of your RX, it's not really worth selling it and getting a new one. ;) -
Should I Buy 2007 Rx350 Or Highlander?
denslexusgx470 replied to Montalvo's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Highlander (V6) has the new 3.5 L. Now a Lexus is a Lexus. Different from a Toyota in many aspects (can now compare it side by side with my GX and 4Runner). Now if you dont like the RX's design, but want a roll down window of some sort for your weather (it's hotter here in Fresno) then either get a Sequoia, or 4Runner, or Tundra Double Cab. Those have the roll down windows in the back, and that's the only thing you can roll down with the keyless remote. ;) -
I always count on the torque for power. Yes the HP is important, but that big torque is what will get you a good acceleration. 00 RX300 FWD (220 HP, 222 torque) 0-60 in 8.5 Sec 03 GX470 (235 HP, 320 Torque) 0-60 in 8.5 Sec ;)

I dont know what i was thinking asking about if it was on the whole time u were driving, but anyways, have the dealer check it out. Does the vehicle still have warranty when you bought it??
-
well that's how it is. You should also wonder why Lexus decided to change the engine a little on the RX from RX330-RX350 when they should just wait for the redesign to do that... ;)
-
exactly what i meant. You don't need to worry about the bluetooth navi controls on the wheel if he were to get one. Now only thing i am not sure if you can program it to control the radio......... but highly doubt it.

does it always stay on the whole time you're driving?

From the album: Denny's GX4R
new DRLs -
i got extra keys made for my lx, gx, sc, and q45. i bought it from ebay. then the vendor sent me to a locksmith that worked with them. about 150 ea. everything included. So the locksmith did the immobilizer programming too?
-
not necessarily. If you change the steering wheel, and get a wheel that has a button for the voice activated for the navi, it really wont matter if it works or not, unless he can somehow put a 04-06 navi into his LX450.

Clunk Is Fixed After 34k Miles, And Sunroof Also.
denslexusgx470 replied to Reggie's topic in 03 - 09 Lexus GX470
I almost forgot to add that Toyota came up with this permanent fix for the GX. Guys in the 4Runner forum are having a difficult time convincing their dealers to use the GX's TSB for the same problem in the 4Runner. At least you really get your money's worth with Lexus for paying $15k more for a GX instead of a 4Runner. ;) Eventualy they will get to the 4R owners but at least they put Lexus as their Priority. -
Hello and Welcome! The problem is that the PM system requires the member to post a certain number of posts(I think its 50 posts) before you can start sending and receiving PMs. ;)

Even if it will, I highly wouldn't suggest it as it will cost you a LOT of money. Let's take a steering wheel for example. I've heard that i can change my 4Runner steering wheel to a wood grain steering wheel so it will be like my GX. The steering wheel costs $400 though. :o Quite a lot. Plus, i doubt the side panels and seats of a 2nd gen (98-06 LX470) will fit a 1st gen (LX450).

Recall For Daytime Driving Light?
denslexusgx470 replied to greggebhardt's topic in 98 - 07 Lexus LX470
greggebhardt, fixed it up for you, but then you deleted the post. I copy and pasted the original post onto this one because i removed your duplicate when you deleted this one at the same time i removed your duplicate. Well it's fixed up now. -
there are some GX470s in your price range, but i think the mileage on them are around 50k and they're 03 models. A lot of them hav Navi, and some may even have the old Lexus Link on them. Well it's up to you. At least you stuck with Lexus!

Luckily i live in an area that requires a vehicle to get from one place to another and that has PLENTY of parking spaces. :D So I'm never used to valet. :whistles:

Were they both from the 2nd generation? well obviously you'd get sick of buying an RX if you buy more than one of the same generation. Now if you buy one from every generation, you'd still be excited about getting another RX. ;) I should have gotten an RX if the GX never came out. When I first saw pictures of this, new breed, the GX470, I instantly wanted this vehicle. Since my RX got into a minor rear end accident, my mom got sick of seeing the car (because it reminds her of the RX) and that was my chance at a GX. She wanted something bigger, more powerful. Gas mileage wasnt a factor though back then.... If it was, I would have waited for the RX330 to come out 3 months later than the time I got my GX.

Nice, 19 speaker ML, 0-60 in 5.4 secs, time to go check that piggy bank to see if there's enough to buy this baby. :whistles: :)
-
nice. I think i got like a 75% the first time i did that one. That was the only time I ever got a score that high. The rest of my attempts were all like 40-50%. lol ;)

It should. ;) So far, so good. No complaints of the clunk coming back with the new TSB.
