  1. Looks like they didn't really wanna do a big burnout with the IS but it's ok with the G35. I remember that song, loved that song, like 3 or 4 years ago. "430 Lex with convertible top, rims keep spinnin everytime I stop". lol :)
  2. Boy i think i'm really gonna like this car more than i thought. I have been doing the break in rules, and looks like the mpg is doing good. first fill-up, BAD. 10 mpg. then second one, 17.6?? third one, 20.6????? This is all done by hand and calculator, so no one will say "Computer is always wrong" but these figures don't seem right on a SUV that's only about 400 miles old. There's gotta be something wrong with my calculator?!?!?! lol :whistles: :o
  3. yes. the 99 RX300s were the only ones with red. Unless they repainted it red?!?!?! lol :P :o
  4. Best of Luck !!!!!!!! Stay safe, and come back in one piece. Think of it, in the end, you will be enjoying life in a brand new Lexus!!
  5. Very true. If you ever go up to Yosemite, and go thru Fresno, I'm telling you, it's a Lexus country out here. There's gotta be a Lexus in almost every neighborhood here (or any luxury car but mostly Lexus). True, but also depends on area. I know Bay Area/San Francisco is all the way up there in prices, so let's not talk about that. Here in Fresno, it's gone up too but the market has leveled, and seeing a lot of price reductions (even though the listings aren't over priced) tells you that the market is slowing down here. As i heard , it doesn't matter if you lose money when selling, because you will gain money when you buy. Huh? Ok here's the explanation. Let's say you have a $200k house. Someone gives you an offer, THE ONE AND ONLY OFFER, of $170k. So you accept that, and close escrow. Now your price range to buy is about $400k. You see a home that's about $450k or $475k. Make an offer of $400k, definitely the sellers will give in. Houses in the higher price range, have a harder time to sell, even if they're priced right. Now in the paragraph above, you did lose $30k in your own home when you sold it, but the seller of the home your buying lost $50k-$75k. So in the end(theoretically), you actually earned about $20k-$45k because you bought another house with your very low ball offer.
  6. actually, i do have to admit that i don't check regularly but i should. usually the MOST significant time i would check, is after balance and rotation, if i got new tires, or if it looks kinda soft. ;) this is a good reminder. I checked the 4runner's psi, and the dealer put in like 11 more psi than what was recommended!!!!!!!!! :o
  7. I hear ya bud......I can't even be bothered to get angry anymore at stuff like that (although I am well aware how infuriating it is) & I feel for you. :( Well my only compensation (forgot to say) is that I used wax to get rid of it. Once i saw it, tried to rub it down with my finger, wouldn't work, went to go quickly get my wax and the foam applicator, and just squirted a big amount of wax on top of the small scratch. luckily it came off. ;)
  8. wow. idiots out in this world will never give you a break in giving scratches on cars. today, my dad took the 4runner to the office, and come home, there's a simple scratch, on top of my rear bumper. wtf?? can't they even give me a break, at least let me enjoy it for like a month or so??? geez. These idiots really get on my nerves. They must know i'm meticulous with cars, cuz they gave my GX two scratches before (on the same day). Bad part was, after the first scratch, my dad parked in another slot, and got another one on the second slot. same area too!!!!!!
  9. no arguement involved, but i disagree. IF the GX, or Prado was build from existing parts from Toyota and Lexus, then don't tell me they haven't come up with an "original" design for their second generation Prado, or commonly known here in the USA as the GX(first gen for USA). This is the problem when car companies don't introduce the same vehicles everywhere they sell them. People think that the GX470's "brother" is the 4Runner, but it's not and it is only a cousin of the GX. The Land Cruiser Prado is the brother, or should i say "twin" of the GX. 1st gen Prado 2nd Gen Prado (and GX also) As for the LX (which was the original topic), still no word on it. ;)
  10. I can top that! Wash, wax, vacuum, treat leather, clean inside windows, light treatment of Armorall on tires. What next? My wife picks up our 2 1/2 year old grand son and proceeds to feed him crackers while buckled into the seat. Did I mention I vacuumed? ;) Oh well, that is what grandkids are for. Gary oh yea? on my GX picture above, here's what happened in 2 days of detailing: Wash, Wax, vacuum, leather treatment, newly rotated and balanced tires, cleaned dashboard, cleaned windows, cleaned thick dirt in small crevices, washed engine, and cleaned some parts under the car that is visible when someone looks at the underbody when they are behind you. Beat that! lol.
  11. Thanks Lexusfreak. I just finished cutting out carpet runners for the flooring because i don't want the floor mats to get dirty. I personally cut them myself to fit. Then on top of that, i got some generic all weather floor mats on top of that. Then I also cleaned the 4Runner today, and waxed it up, because I felt that the wax was kinda thin. It feels so weird cleaning a car that's really new. I wonder how long I can keep the engine clean? I just couldn't help just looking at my clean engine. It will easily get dirty if you live in an area like mine, where there's a lot of agriculture land and those tractors are making dust fly all over the place. <_< :)
  12. That should do it. You can find those cords at Wal Mart for like $5. Congrats on that beautiful truck! I've ridden in my neighbors 4Runner (LTD with V8....vroom, vroom!!) a few times, so I know how nice they are! B) Oh thanks. Yea this thing rides pretty well. It's not as soft riding as the GX, but for a vehicle that's about $20k less, it's good enough. It shares a whole ton of similar characteristics with each other, so no need to figure out anything new. I almost cried when i heard a rattle in the glove box yesterday. It was so loud, i didn't know if i should show it to the dealer or just live with it. If i have the dealer fix it, they will fix it but cause another problem. Well it turned out that there was a little compartment, inside the glove box, that the cover can close or open. i guess while it was open, it wasn't latched down properly so it was rattling. :whistles: Boy i would have cried if it was something in the dash :P
  13. I got a quick question guys. Now the 4Runner came with an aux input hole, but how do i plug an mp3 player into it? I'll be more specific, i'll be plugging in probably my PSP (don't own an Ipod). So do i need to buy a single ended cord on both sides, and plug it into my aux input in the 4Runner, and plug the other end into the headphone jack of the PSP?? Please help. Although i havent gone through the manual yet, but I really want to plug my PSP in. :P :P :P
  14. yes DEFINITELY we got the payments we wanted. there was like a "crazy Larry" sale that dropped the payments significantly. i only found out of the sale on friday when my only intention that day was to look at their inventory to see if they got any fresh units off the truck. they didnt though. i was "forced" to get it this weekend becuz of their "weekend only" price. sometimes i dont believe in it but i just didnt want to risk the payments. :P
  15. well i take that back. The whole family wanted white, so here it is! 4Runner:"Hello big cousin" GX470: "Hello little boy. Welcome to the family!" All together now. This was a dealer swap, so that explains the 192 miles.
  16. Toyota 4Runner! can't wait. I still have a little color choice dilemna, but we'll see how it'll go. Thanks for everyone's input. If i get silver (instead of the white i mentioned in my sig) then it would be this one (picture of it before pre-delivery inspection):
  17. Ok. thanks. I think Sienna got ruled out now, and so was the Highlander and Odyssey, so it's all down to 4Runner now. Now we'll have to see which dealer will get me my particular unit. I may sound crazy but here's what I want in my vehicle: 1. V6, 2wd 2. optional 17" rims, roof rack, tow hitch, cargo net, carpet floor mats, roof rack, tonneau cover, and hopefully a Homelink, and DRL (daytime running lights) 3. Michelin Cross Terrain tires ;) 4. Natural White color, with either Taupe or Stone interior.
  18. i say hitch wiring. i don't see why the brake controller has to do anything with the wiper and fan.
  19. actually the GX isn't a mistake or some "holding" for customers to stay with Lexus. The GX, or also known as the Land Cruiser Prado in many other countries, is the 2ND GENERATION for this breed of Toyota. I don't know where the website is, but I am pretty sure that the GX isn't suppose to be in this picture. :P ;)
  20. So what are you tryin' to say????? Us tennesseans are too stupid to build cars? :D lol J/K! Well i'll give you an example. Honda, started producing their 2nd gen Odyssey in Canada (99-03 models). the first two years of production, they had MAJOR TRANNY recalls and problems. Considering their Honda, shouldn't it be good, even though it's made in Canada? I'm not saying that people from Canada, or from Tennessee are stupid people, but from experience by Honda, I just want to make sure Toyota won't or isn't making the same problem. Besides, the cars made in Japan have more new car smell rather than the ones that are made locally. :P IMHO, that's what i've been observing when checking out some new Toyotas in the past few days. :P
  21. That's good news that it's a good vehicle. I was kinda getting worried about quality there for a bit (even though it is a Toyota) because the Sienna is made in Tennessee. Well the choices are as follows now (Sienna got moved down) 1. 4Runner > 2.Highlander > These first two are almost tied for first choice. 3. Sienna 4. Odyssey
  22. It is no secret that they will no longer have a LX470. The secret is what will replace it. I will hold onto my 2004 till the replacement comes along! See that's the thing. It'll be discontinued, but no one knows if there's a replacement for it. Like i said in an earlier post, they're thinking of introducing the JX (550) model. No one knows the specifics of it, nor when the release date is, but that's all I know. ;)
  23. actually my dad has read that the LX will be DISCONTINUED like next year. I think Toyota is keeping the Land Cruiser but not the LX470. So all you guys with an LX470 are considered "classic" cars of Lexus someday.
  24. what year is it? 03? 00? 99? Also, what's your gas mileage, close to sticker? I think i might be able to sway my dad into a 4Runner because my mom is another factor in this decision. Everyone is involved when making a car decision. So far, out of all the choices, and all the monthly payment figures, she's in love with the 4Runner (as of the moment). I'd love to have the 4Runner as an extra vehicle. Better mpg, and similar to Lexus. It's actually got cool little features in it (I think). It's got those mirrors in the back, that helps you see behind you (when you don't have a back-up camera) and the rear door is a little weird. It's not automatic when closing, but if you leave it slightly open, it will close automatically for you. Kinda reminds me of the RX330 sound when you close the rear hatch automatically, or even manually, it makes that sound, that shuts it really tight for you. :)
