  1. start with an exhaust as it is relatively cheap and effective.
  2. oem or nothing , cheap glass has ripples that distort and cause fatigue for the eye having a hard time focusing properly.
  3. you would have to buy a trunk as well to make it fit.
  4. see if the dealer will deactivate its warning though the computer they have , as far as i know it will still flash but not chime.
  5. Don't sell your oem one as you'll want it back. Intakes that suck air from behind the rad or engine bay are just rice. You loose power and gas but will impress your friends with a nice sound.
  6. The ls bushings can be changed on the car the gs arms need to be removed to install , $80 per side to install the daizen caster arm bushings from a local mechanic , you need to have a press or atleast a ball joint press to get them out.
  7. This Thursday at 8pm (more like 9 when people get there) at Tim Horton's across from the home depot Terry fox and Brittania for the west end Mississauga meet . Also have some LED's if anyone is interested. dome ,door and city lights in 194 . Also the dent clinic will be October 31st The last Saturday in Mississauga . Location to follow later . Let me know who is interested. Need 10 committed then 4-5 possibles for the day. Price is $120 for a full car depending on the dents ( usually 4-7 dime sized dings) Not hail damage. See you there.
  8. I have read so much on the front suspension issues for the GS . Unfortunately they have not been incorrect in many ways in people guessing and not technically knowing how the parts work together. So here is my take on them. I have an 03 GS430 with 150 000 KM on it. Symptoms , wandering all over the road. super light steering at any speed strong vibration 100km/h and over front tires howling at 70 km/h clunking over bumps clicking when driving or reversing from park (also can be caused by not replacing those small screws on the rotor hubs as they do have a purpose) rapid tire wear with heavy feathering very poor emergency braking Fixes It really starts with 1 as it is the problem that kills all the rest of components. It is the front caster arm bushings. When they die your alignment goes to !Removed! . The front wheels toe out and the caster goes negative . Causing all of the problems above from one part. You can replace them with oem's rubber bushings but the suspension geometry is not the best for them and multiplies the pressure. This causes them to fail under hard braking fast as it does not take much. Replace these with urethane and you will be able to go hopefully forever without a repair again. While you are at it you will have to change the ball joints as well as they will have been stressed by the caster arms unable to take the load and causing the ball joint to be pressed at an angle . They will break and it is not because the ball joints are weak . It is because the suspension is out of alignment and cannot compensate the load of the arms .While you are at it check the tie rods but they can handle the odd angles from the arms. Once done the car will need to be aligned as well . You will now have a front end that is rock solid. If checked properly and nothing else is worn it will no longer wander on the highway . The tires will wear properly . The brakes alone is the biggest benefit as it feels like you added a BBK form the amount of grip . The steering will feel real tight and not over powered . So the thread about unplugging the PS ecu is not needed and the car can be driven properly . No more clunking over bumps as the ball joint is not taking the bump but the bushing is. Vibrations gone as the wheels axis is straight and not sticking out which causes the vibrations. All this from a daizen urethane front control arm kit $100 and a pair of OEM lower ball joints $180 plus alignment $60 . I love driving my wife's car again and so does she. I did not install the upper control arm or the lower arm that the ball joint sits on as they are fine and it will tighten up the front end more than i want. Some people complain about it being to stiff but just doing the caster arm alone is all i needed. I could not care less about wasting the other bushings. So good luck and stop blaming the ball joints or the power steering as problems when they are not. The cars just need some TLC .
  9. speedo is fine if it is the factory 19 inch tire size. if it is oem it should have the tire sensors installed. you will have to go to a tire store to have the sensors paired to your car.
  10. look for a leatherique dealer local the product is amazing and they have pros to do it.
  11. Be very wary of a seller who states things that are not true. 96 never came in a 5 speed.
  12. The scissor jacks are temp use jacks , if they are constantly used they will bend , especially if used on the slightest unlevel surface at some point in time. I did the same thing to mine , By not securing the wheel it rolled slightly and twisted it. I bought another one for $10 at walmart.
  13. they all run elm 327 (?) chipsets from a canadian company. So they are pretty much all the same. It is the software that will fit your needs best. I got mine from ebay and it work well.
  14. You don;t put puddle lights on an RX , just like you don't put a brush bar on an LS. :chairshot:
  15. start buy buying some seafoam and search for how to use it . It may help.
  16. the alarm , key fob or button /wiring is shorting and causing it to open.
  17. You have to buy new knock sensors they are very sensitive microphones and are damaged upon removal.
  18. I don't like to reopen thread , especially ones i did not close as it is using an ability i have to be used under discretion. For that reason alone i am adding to this topic with some facts. I have since spoken with the service manager at Erin park Lexus and heard his version of this tale. From my understanding as it was made before the original poster was and is at fault. Why? 1 . he backed out of a parking space . 2. he drove in the parking space and had no clear view of the roadway he was backing into as he was blocked by the vehicle beside him which was an SUV ,as such he could not see over it and proceeded to make a risky choice in not asking for help . 3. The whole thing was recorded on video tape showing the dealership vehicle being driven normally (no better witness). 4. The only reason why the OP's insurance was not contacted is because of the dealerships high deductible , which would have raised his rates as it was again his fault. 5. Lexus Canada, Erin Park Lexus , the service manager and Peel region police all find no wrong doing by the dealership or the driver . So here are some other facts to be added so you can draw your own conclusion. thanks
  19. So what did you do with the old projectors , sell it with them ?
  20. I will never own chome again . I had a set of sc430 in chrome and they leaked and peeled worse than any wheel i have ever seen. I also am not much of a fan of the look any more. I like to see colour matched wheels more. Chrome and salt is hell for me.
  21. This Saturday the 27th is the east end meet in Scarborough , Kennedy / 401 Tim Horton's . Feel free to swing by after 8pm as the weather should be real nice. BTW on a side note i am planning to hold a dent clinic meet in Mississauga in the next few weeks. It should be $120 for your whole car to be dent free . I have been doing these meets for 4 years now and it usually is the one not to miss as it books early since it is less than a 1/3 rd of the price .
  22. S classes stink in snow, If it has not trac i would not bother bringing it and instead sell it and buy a 98-00 model for slightly more money and import that instead. it will have a duty cost but you should have an allowance for moving.
  23. Heat sheilds are not that effective as the gaps still allow air into the engine. Which is why it is better to have an opening outside the engine bay.
