  1. i bought a 2009 ls 460. I have 75,000 miles and I have not had one problem with the car except for the wind noise.
  2. hi EAW, I have a 09. I have the Mark Levenson sound system. I have a jack in the cneter console behind the gear shift where I can plug in my iPhone and play music. YOu need a cable which I bought from radio shcak to connect. then you press AUX on the radio contro and you are good to go. I do not know if you can copy music from the iPone to the card hard disk but I know you can using a CD. THere is a record function on the radio. if you play with the buttons you will find it when you insert the CD. I am not in front of the car. I will be later and I will try and write again. thanks phil
  3. the link did not go through do a ebay search for LS 19 inch rims.
  4. I put 19 inch rims on my car. see the link below. I did not buy chrome i bought matte. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS-LS460-19-INCH-CHROME-WHEEL-EXCHANGE-LS-460-LS460L-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eb69e0864QQitemZ200632305764QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  5. I don't drive every day so I am doing this from memory. I have an LS 460 from 2009. In the upper left of the screen if the traffic is working I believe that the letters XM yellow or white and if the satellite traffic is not working then the letters XM are dark or grayed out. You cannot see traffic on the highest map resolution of the map. You have to press the minus sign several times. If the traffic is working then the roads will be either green, yellow or red for fast slow or traffic jam. If there is construction they'll be a yellow caution sign. I have only seen the traffic on interstate highways. I have never seen traffic on the rural roads or streets. I think you have to also turn it on. I forget if you click on the menu button or the info button but if you monkey around with the buttons is a place where you can turn satellite traffic on. It's not rocket science if you play with the menus. You may also have to refresh your signal with XM radio. Sometimes I have done that and it works. Also I find it works better in urban areas than in rural areas. The other day I was in Florida and rented a Mercedes E class and the navigation system on the E class is better. The car is not as reliable as the Lexus but the user interface is slicker on the Mercedes. Life is filled with compromises.
  6. I bought the same tires and they are much better. Steve suggested in a post above that PSI is important and it is. the ride s better at 31psi then at the 36 or 36 recommended. the lower psi make the care ride and handle better even if the tires wear faster. rgrds phil
  7. sorry i was on the road. yes you can watch DVD. in Japan you can watch TV Phil, the PS override also allows you to watch DVD's while moving right?
  8. It was easy but I like to tinker so that may be why. if you are afraid get some help. it is worth it. go to the website for the company and email them. they are great and the will send you the instructions on how to remove the dash and install the kit.
  9. I installed it myself it took me 2 hours. they give you detailed instructions. it worked like breeze. How difficult was the PS system to install? I'd like to do one for my LS600. Cheers, Hank
  10. Yes I have NAV and the Mark Levinson sound system. I also purchased and installed the Prestigious Society override so I can use the NAV while in motion. thanks phil
  11. I would love to learn more about this also. I met a Lexus executive on a plane and he told me that there have been a lot of Navigation improvements in the 2010 model year over my 2009. The voice recognition is also improved I am told. I wonder if I can upgrade my system? Welcome to the club I'll look into this for you, PM me with email address. B)
  12. I do not know if this is your problem but I have found that if that car remains stopped by use of the hold feature for more than a certain amount of time that the parking brake kicks in as a safety feature. It happened to me and I just pulled the little parking brake leaver and the parking brake goes off and you can drive. However you must put your foot on the brake to release the parking brake. I agree with Steve and I seldom use the hold feature but I do use it and there are time when it come in handy. Once you hit the open road you should turn off the hold button or that is what Lexus tell you. I hope this helps you.
  13. we have a 2009 ls 460l. we drove 20,000 miles in a little more than 12 months. I have never reset the average MPG or average MPH recorder. In that time we have averaged 41 MPH and 21 MPG. If I drive 65 mph I get 25 mpg and if I drive 75 to 80 mph I get 21 to 22 mpgi
  14. My 2009 Lexus LS 460 has the Mark Levinson sound system. The other day I tried to use my phone book and all of my entries had been deleted. It had worked the night before and no one else had access to the car. Also, my Blackberry Tour is set up to connect automatically. As soon as I start the car the display shows that the phone is dialing even though it isn't. I have to press the red hangup button or press the button on the steering wheel to hang up the phone. Last but not least people tell me that my voice sounds very soft and that the sound quality isn't as good as it used to be just a few days ago. Has anyone out there had this problem besides me? Does anyone have any advice for me? Thank you. Phil
  15. you can't and you do not want to. driving without a seatbelt is a little bit like smoking. Deep down inside we all know that we shouldn't smoke because it's not good for us. The same is true when it comes to seatbelts.
