  1. under the grille is not chrome on a 92-96 version it is white metal on the 97 i know the grilles are plastic i guess you have to mention the year
  2. that is how they made those types of round bars mine is not like that and fits prefectly with yours all you have to do is buy a few washers place one at a time and try it to get the clearance needed mainly on the inner most nut only then it should clear fine
  3. i don't dry my car at all i let it water spot sounds stupid but all cloths will pick up the left over dirt and rub it all over the surface causing the hairline scratches when washing the car the soap lube the paint to prevent that but drying has none i let it dry or an hour then use either dry wash which is a semi polish and wax cleaner or meguires final inspection both just spray and wipe and leave the car beautiful without any water spots and real bright and shiny without those beautiful scratches ( which helps me from having to repolish my car as often) i am full of off the wall ideas that everyone thinks is so weird but i am not afraid to experiment just like me using coco butter on my leather seats now lots of members are belivers oh yah if you still decide to use a chamois wash it everytime when done in a washing machine with the wash mitt as well to keep from rubbing the dirt back into the paint
  4. i am going to say you might need to be allitle gentle with braking for a little bit until they are bedded in and heat cycled meaing once they get hot enough and cooled a few times they will becomes stronger and resist warping more but it takes time a few weeks
  5. i will try and find the asia pic i was shown on www.toyotanation.com i thought the new seats actually used the hvac system air as MB uses fans that only circualte but not heat or cool so they wanted to trump them and have cooling (a/c) ones
  6. the system does a cuircit check by testing all of the servo motors for the fans and actuators that control air flow and temp which is what the numbers are it is just the check particular to that # i think 00 is ok do a search and it is already posted in the sc forums i am not a mod in this section or i would mergwe the 2 topics so you could see the codes and what they mean another thought is does the ac light blink if it does then it means the compressor is sensing lock up and has stopped did the shop do a fluid top up of refrigerant if they used the wrong one you are infor lots of fun also there are a few wires that are part of the a/c compressor trace back the wiring and look to see if any have been damaged if so it may cause th wire to ground thinking that the system is locking up and shut down good luck
  7. it is 80 amp is the stock power it is enough to run the car ok if you are experiancing problems replace the battery and most of the stock power wires as tehy do seem to break down and corrode also there is a new pulley for the alt on newer models to keep the lights and other accesories from dimming
  8. the starter kill is active after 30 seconds maybe you didn't wait long enough after arming it but it does have it also when my remote start works and the lexus alarm is on it kills the engine from turning over and sets off the alarm and i haven't touched a door or unlocked anything either the bypass time isn't reached or the cars are broken lol but it does have it
  9. it would take a good day or so to drain a battery from a bulb like that even if it was high powered it is in such a stupid location it wouldn't do anythnig anyway
  10. the lights in the rear of the new camry in some parts of europe and asia seem to have a light that extends into the rear trunk lid i saw one and the lights made it look almost like a bmw 3 series with smaller lights to blend into the body a very nice look
  11. there are many companies that sell the plastic chrome covered vinyl it looks as cheap as it sounds tehy make them for bmw's es 300 and a few others not worth the time or money take off the grille give it to a motorcycle builder/designer or just a regualr tool shop they can chrome it in a day or so pertty cheap
  12. i just put 2 more pics up one of the interior dash and gauges with pods the alpine lcd tv deck and a nokia car kit and the other is my trunk with the stereo they are the last page of the es gallery
  13. i really like the new camry i like its styling more than the new ES i drove a loaner from lexus the other day and it was nice smooth quiet and huige inside i definatly like it especially with a nice body kit and rims and the car soooo has to be lowered way too much fender gap
  14. sorry bbsal the alarm does have starter kill atleast on my 94 if i arm the lexus alarm then use the remote start the engine turns over for 2 seconds then stops and the alarm goes off the door unlocking only keeps the alarm from going off sit in the car and then arm it after the bypass time try and start the car it will go off the lxus alarm is made to secure the car not its valuables inside which is one reason why there is no shock sensor if you have anything in the car worth stealing tehn add an extra alarm
  15. lexus is now using a smaller wheel thus causing the alt to spin faster and produce more power but it is the same alternator so they found a good way to fix bad engineeering without a crappy band aid solution but like i mentioned since i chanegd those wires i don't have dim lights radio hvac fan speed or the dash being yellow anymore just a though spend 20 for some wires and redo it
  16. i got a 3 foot blue neon tube place it under the parcel shelf and it works great now no more worries
  17. i have one that is called "calypso" the pure essence of coco butter, solid formula,13 oz i am not sure if i said "pure" but anything with a few indgredients should be fine the one i have is mineral oil,micro-crystalline wax, glycol stearate, fragrance, cocoa butter, dimeethicone, isoprophyl palmitate, golden palm oil, tocopheryl acetate(vitamin e),carotene,d &c yellow no.10 and it is made by african gold in canada i love the stuff and is all i have used in 3 years but i don't drive the car much anymore plus it is always garaged so the wear on the seats are minimal compared to anyother ES i have seen i had throw 2 more pics of my cars interior and trunk in the gallery as i forgot them last time but doesn't show the seats much mainly the dash and gauges plus deck
  18. try not to use wd 40 as it is great for some instances in the case of sliding metal it isn't great as it is a very thin film of lube and collects dust and dirt easily white grease is much more effective
  19. the 96 and the 93 are different the 93 does not have a the ambient temp button
  20. the ones in the engine bay are before the cat as the cat is under the car a long rectangualr part of the exhaust usually under where the front seats are under the car that sensor is about 3 inches back from the cat and is usually chanegd by remomving the center console
  21. i think he was saying yes it does fit perfectly no issues
  22. welcome new members but what years are your cars? my 94 was easy to replace in a way i opened up the cluster for the dash hvac controller and the radio and replaced all of them in about 3 hours
  23. which part is scarier saving the 200 dollars by waitng to now pay 100 for a tow and tehn realign it at service of buying a new engine
  24. i think the alt's are ok but under idles they are crap i can run the system fine ( as i did last night on downtown Toronto streets as everyone was partying for Caribana, a caribean parade) and it ran much better at idle thn it ever did with the sytem at full tilt i tried the seat heaters and guess what they still didn't get hot only luke warm i think the settings should be 1 off 2 kinda off 3 and hmmm are these things working yet
  25. there was a guy once who said he had to change his fenders hood and bumpers to update his 97 i can't remember if it was all perfect bolt on but the rear lights are
