  1. I don't know a thing, never saw it. But then again us stupid Canadians didn;t even have the new GS at our Auto show for some damn reason, I was so *BLEEP*ed today to not see it there. But they did have an IS with a custom turbo just for show .
  2. 95-96 plastic yellows easier than 92-94 ones as well as it having 3 lines across on the 95-96 and the chrome is more gunmetal than bright chrome.
  3. As it is a personal sale not a vendor or wrecker ,i personally have no problem with it being listed in the buy and sell
  4. Since he has no existing remote that is why i mentioned getting new ones since he can;t verify the fcc code it isn;t under the hood but on the original keys with the button for the keyless alarm . The ecm for it is located inside the trunk
  5. The tranny filter is a steel mesh about 70 from the dealer so it is better to clean in varsol and replace. i am not sure how much the hose goes for. i have one but wasn;t thinking of selling it as i replaced my whole intake system with a cold air intake a few years ago. Use the oem toyota filters and mobil 1 or castrol synthetic almost any will do . I use penzoil engine flush once a year as it helps clean the crap out of it and quiets the sticking lifters.
  6. It is 100% the IAC as it is sooo common on the 97 and up vehicles having the problem. The idle isn't erratic as the plunger cannot make the pin move out to allow more air flow that is needed when the car is already hot. The problem mainly happens to a car that is already driven then turned off then driven a short time later. The spring need to cool and it slowly moves back into position. Which is why it rarely happens when the engine is stone cold. Once the engine runs a few minutes already hot it then turns off the enrichment program that needs more fuel for starting . Which is why it becomes easier to start later and the pedal being depressed keeps the engine running as it is compensating for the iac.
  7. oh yah i forgot a 9006 ca be made into a 9005 easily also by the same method you used already
  8. You know... EBAY lmao
  9. i would say replace the hose then reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery terminal. How much tranny fluid do you have? also use an engine flush and change the oil in case the oil pressure sender is sticking. Then replace with synthetic.
  10. You can change almost any tranny fluid with a external cooler like the rx. Just disconnect the lines once the tranny is hot from the cooler an put one to a drain pan and another to a large conatiner of new fluid. it will siphon all of it out easily with no machines.
  11. yah tehy fit 20x 9 is probably the best
  12. do you have all seasons or summer tires as i doubt you have winter tires. A bag of salt is also very use full for added weight and can cmoe in handy if you are stuck in the snow also. As well as dropping the pressure in the tires for added traction ,but then reinflate them once it gets clear as the car will drive funny
  13. It is to the right of the fuses behind the fuse cover which is to the left of the steering wheel. you are right it is a 1mz-fe engine and obd2 there is also another data connection on the top of the intake maniold of the engine on the right side
  14. I personally would change all 4 shocks as well if not oem for it being really expensive get the kyb's gr2's they are very smooth compared to the valving in the tokico shocks as i find them very harsh even for a track. The stock ones should also be ky's but with slightly softer dampening. The noise you are hearing is more than liekly because the valving inside the shock is worn and damaged ans is binding on the edges of the shock causing the shock to try and squeeze the oil past the dampenr valve. They obviosly need to be replaced as they no longer have the travel they once did and will cause the back of your car to be more floaty and hit the bump stops more. If you are going to do it try and get the mechanic to reduce the price and replace all 4 not just 2 shocks .As the price of 2 Lexus badge shocks are worth more than 2 kyb badges shocks. Kyb also makes your hood struts as well. They are an excellent brand which is why i also got them.
  15. I use a cd2 system of degreaser then a clear acrylic on top to stop dirt from adhearing to the engine. I make sure the engine is warm keep it running and spray the car down at a power washer. I keep it running to maek sure if by chance the alternator does get a bit of water in there it will spin it out real quick with its fan or dry it up. I also never spray the alternator just around it. Also let the engine get warm by driving it straight to the power washer first drive of the day. So as most components are warm not hot as excessive cool water might crack something althought it would be extremly rare especially ablock which is next to impossible. As far as i know ,no Lexus has a ecu in the engine bay like stupid GM's so most electronics are pretty much weather proof from moisture related problems. Also look in the detailing forum for really good info alreayd discussed before. As well as www.lexuscarcare.com or the link above this page for really amazing products and advice from a pro detailer , for free i might add. here is a shot of my engine after i did mine with the 2 products mentioned.
  16. A used lexus has so little porblems that brand new first year model redesigns people think small thinks like a whistle or a rattle is bad .Compared to a brand new anyother model which may and usually does have tons of problems.Like broken cracnkshafts and other major repairs. I agree with the lexus inspection or even more gettin a preowned lexus from lexus. They only resell perfect vehicles with all lexus service done at a lexus dealer .So both you and them know it is perfect insdie and out.
  17. btw don;t worry about bandwidth ,as long as it is a good question that isn;t asked everyday it is cool
  18. Everyone is right on track with answers the car is obd2 lexus dealers have all service done at a "lexus dealer" 2 new remote key and a remote transpoder chip for the ecm in the trunk is about 300-500 but you do get 2 new remote keys it is easier to replace it with a remote starter/alarm cheaper installed and buy a new key from the dealer with no button on the head or about 20-30
  19. They do make 9005 as well ut it is useless as they need a warm up time to work.So the flash to pass feature would not work very well.
  20. all depends on the buy back for the car a wrecker would pay big money for a 0 body damage car as that is all the good parts they can make money on selling. You could buy a rear clip but any good body shop can repair almost anything especially if there is no frame damge and just underbady damage which will never be seen and covered in black undercaot anyway. It also depends on what you mean by ripped out. A picture is worth a thousand words. If there is no suspension damage or minimal like control arms then buy it back. TAP should be able to sell most of the rear clip parts cheap
  21. The bag will not fit. as i have a brand new grey leather one i was going to put on my 94 but the 97 and up has a smaller airbag which don't line up with the spokes on the bag.
  22. if you masterminded getting the back of the foglight off to remove the bulb crimping the wire is even easier. Most auto shops would do it for you for $5
  23. bbsal used the same one i id i think it is the plug and play ones with no wiring to cut or change ,about 5 minutes to install
  24. that is a good one
  25. I thought it was crap also until i changed the main ones in my civic and everything worked much better ,so i was having a resistance issue. then when i changed my battery to an optima with reverse posts i had to replace some wiring and it made a hell of a difference in idle power being constant and the rest of the car including the dash back lighting being more white than yellow
