  1. could be where you drive and ho you drive are you agressive in corners at all?
  2. Have you looked under the car yet? Have you changed oil much or before?
  3. You may do highway driving but you lie in New jersey. Not the most steady speed to drive at. Brakes last long when the owner knows how to brake properly not just press a pedal with constant force. What is gone on the paint and brakes in more details. If they are only going to pay 1/6 it means tehy are throwing goodwill at you even thought they know it has nothing to do with them.
  4. i can;t remember the finish on the new ones but he has the old one like me a 92 the onyl thing shiny on them is the emblem
  5. one thought is by time you are ready to get the rest of the kit it might be discontinued.
  6. Wow that is alot for repaireing and paint 2 doors. try somewhere else again. What do you want to do with the car. there are alot of ideas in the faq.
  7. no problem If the finish of the ES wheels were shiny to begin with or a smooth finish tehn sure it might make it duller. but they are a dimpled finish with a low level shine. I wouldn't use windex on my car either unless i was waxing it maybe, but still wouldn't. A dremel and some mag polish formulated for brake dust would get in there real good but it would need a long bit other wise the screw on it would damge the wheels also.
  8. probably not under the corrosion warrenty but a simple goodwill one. They wont repaint it jsut replace the pillar which comes already painted.
  9. They can install any part YOU want, but the warrenty from then is now affectivly null and void on the part for labour replacments. contact our sponsers they sell OEM lexus parts cheap.
  10. ypu the dealer can get them or might have them. If you atleast had one you could get a nut and bolt store to replace them. I found one store that carrys everything they even had a tiny bolt that i needed for a perch on my coilovers and on top of that they had a choice bettween regualr steel and stainless to keep them from rusting. The guy even gave them to me for free as samples as they cost just pennies.
  11. agreed ,they are trying to make it go over a time issue so tehy don;t have to pay for it.
  12. buy a can of rust check and spray them or get an underbody rust protection
  13. chenille is man made it all depends on the depth of the pile to hold water and trap dirt deep inside is hairs.
  14. never heard of the touring only the coach for 96 ,but it isn;t supposed to have different shocks
  15. There is less clearence on any after market body kit syle one including the l sport having the front alone looks ok compared to haveing sides or rears alone.
  16. Year? edit your above post and add it then i will move it.
  17. Maybe the new hub is not placed properly or greased well. If it makes no noise change with turngin left and right then i doubt it tis the wheel bearing. Try a good alignment also you may be scalloping your tires. Especially if a shock is worn or a bushing.
  18. look at the mount basenut beside the seat. follow the belt up with a smooth flow toward the belt clip. The side facing the seat is supposed to be that way all the way through. Now fold a small corner of the belt like an envelope and slowly pull the belt through allowing more and more of the belt to fold eventually it will all get back into position. The problem is now with tthe rest of the belt inside the b pillar. Make sure the belt is extended all the way and do the same thing again to feed the belt in properly . Eventually it will unhook inside the pillar where you can;t see it anyway.
  19. It is actually a large plastic baffle or ballast that is used to remove sound waves as well as siphon water out of the intake air stream to the engine. Just look in the fender it is where you get your air to the engine from it connects to the under side of the air filter canister.
  20. post the details here and i will move it over and delete this post
  21. hold the knob down? Do you mean the 2 bolts that are covered by a plastic shroud on the actual shifter handle and face the stereo ? just pull the knob up and press the button down till you find it to get the keys out.
  22. take it to a pro shop around and see what is in your budget then decide what you like for what you can afford
