Did it do the low speed test then the high speed one? Anycheck engine lights? The cat is working but not at fully ,it may need changing. Get a motorvac and make sure the car is heated up properly before the test

cv joints make the click you hear when they wear out from the rubber boots covering the joints.It lets dirt get in and wears it down badly so you need to replace them not replace the boots alone which are cheaper for parts but the same in labuor costs. If it hesitates when turning they could be worn so badly they are binding so it might be a good idea to get them changed.

The ES does not = performance it equals luxury in a entry level midsized sedan You could throw all the money you want at an ES and it would never equal a Honda Civic (EF TO EK)bone stock for handling . Or 1/10th of the money for performance upgrades mainly as it is the #1 platform for the aftermarket. Telling me to "check myself" is just plain stupid. Who said anything about reading his posts? Of course people will like to read them. The platform is not in that segment for a reason, taking a soft chasiss and engine to extremes is not viable.

For $100 that is ridiculasly cheap if you can get it. the last kit i priced for an LS which was 4 wheel caps exhaust tips radio antenna nut front and rear "L" LS 400 script LEXUS script and the whole metal bezel for the front grille was almost $500 with all oem toyota parts gold plated and clear coated the parts alone would cost more than $100

The types of modifications mentioned are interesting but are more inline with a honda or another car with many more modifications with bolt ons. My opinion but i find it annoying for you to chime in saying i am putting him down when i am not.

Idling will not charge a batteyr it will actually lower the battery volatage to 12 vdc

ever changed your battery cables and grounds? or make sure your alternator is always putting out 14.4 vdc . Many times it doesn;t keep up the voltage once it gets hot causing the battery to not be fully charged when you shut it down.

The under hood temps are very hot

WOW , i comend you on your cerativity . It defintaly can work especially since it will cause lift and acheive decreased high speed drag but by the front end being lifted even slightly it reangles you alignment causing a reduction of steering feel. After all the reading you have done on this site how many members are going to build a fibreglass rad support funnel ? To achive hopefully acheive 4 mpg.

Funny thing about that is the first time i did it 7 years ago my tranny failed under warranty. More pressure also cause more heat, another problem the tranny if idled much. BTW the a541e ( the reason for the # difference is the electronic computer control solenoid). So it is pretty much the same thing except for shifting.
