  1. depends on which trim you want the weatherstripping or the trim on the left and right sides of it or the cowl under it. dealer junkyard or windsheild replacment shop
  2. Probably is what you already said ,if it doesn't sound like the lifters then it is more than likely the injectors which can get a bit noisy on Toyotas over time but not as a precusor to fail
  3. I thought before you begin for the wireless lock/unlock program for the key,you have to have the doors closed except drivers all doors locked except the drivers
  4. I just finished putting in my HIR 9006 bulbs for my fog lights which i got off ebay. They are amazing especially for the price compared to HID's. First is a pic of the car showing the foglight on the (actual left of car)right with the HIR bulb the ®left is a silverstar from sylvania that is 2 weeks old.The fog on the ®left has a cracked lens and has a slightly diminished output in comparision. The other 2 are facing my white garage door showing the actual lightoutput and its footprint. You can see from a distance of about 10 feet the fog on the ®right is none existant while the (L)left one is nice ,bright and wide as a fog should be. I would much rather have HID's for them but until i get a pair of 2000k bulbs these will do just perfect. I also intend to make the fogs amber in colour to add the contrast needed in bad weather ,plus i love the look. The thrid pic is about 3 feet from the door where it shows the fogs actual output is vastly increased. The silverstars are 2 times better than the stock oem bulbs, but the HIR's are 4X better than the silverstars. They are not white or blue but more like stock bulbs with higher output. We shall see how it goes for life and performance over time. Like i said it is worth every cent.
  5. you can but it is only used mainly in a turck or when using a trailer when you can overheat you brakes and get brake fade basically having no brakes because they have overehated. So it is using the tranny and engine compression as well to aid the brakes. It is not for daily driving
  6. If interested here are some new pics of the car at a show this weekend and my other car. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=7&t=22523&st=0
  7. Here are some small pics to help non DSL/cable guys out. The gallery for the larger clearer pics are here
  8. thanks to grandLS here is a sound clip of my engine after the intake. http://mark8.org/users/GRANDLS400/Ls_intake.WAV It is 23 seconds in total with the exhaust adding very little to the recorded noise. It is basically taken from about 1 foot infront of the bumper with the phone on the ground. The ambient noise is me pressing go on the phone ,then running back to the drivers seat to open the engine twice with a few second rest in between then running back to the phone to turn it off. 2 WOT rpm runs up to redline in neutral. So far i noticed my gas average per tank has gone from 14.3liters used per 100km down to 10.8 liters per 100km as of right now and i am only 1/4 through it.
  9. You have 4 pot calipers which are from a supra ,it WILL stop the car. You just need to get used to it . Like mentinoed before pads are cheaper than clutches in a transmission. Upgrade the brakes with drilled/slotted rotors with stainless steel lines if you want more grip.
  10. Foam filters use more of a viscous liquid rather than a light fluid that K&N filters use
  11. Need to find out the codes to know what went wrong
  12. An sc makes alot more sense in the change over.
  13. Actually most nav systems need to be powered down before shutting down. It is not something that only you have an isue with mine also is like that,i don't mind as when i use it it works amazing.I also researched it before buying it so i knew what i was getting into before hand.
  14. If i come down that far,you better take me for a ride in your car, Dave . :P BTW i don't mean the LS either :chairshot:
  15. There is no info on this subject so you would not find it but thanks for trying. Second it is for a 98 right? Which bearing is it front ,rear? No front and rears are not swapable as you have a FWD car than again i have never heard of any hub being swapable. If you want to know if it is somethign you can change then what is your expericance in repairs that you do already what tools do you have? More than likely you cannot change a hub by itself as you need a new abs sensor which will only crumble if pressed out ,so you also need to be careful in reinstalling it. It is not hard but it is experiance,.
  16. they are 2 totally different cars. If you want the 97 look you are going to have to buy a 97-01
  17. Oil on the thread is from an oil leak form a valve cover usually. As oil doesn't leak on a plugs thread unless the head is cracked. Oil on the tips only is a problem but not on the threads.
  18. I edited your post because you are too smart for our rules, please follow them and not try to sideline them by asking a question of your parts.
  19. If i have to explain power transfer and how this occurs ,this is over. It wouldn't matter what i told you and i am not in the mood to teach every Doubting tomhas just "because ". One day change your and find out.Otherwise you know better and i don't care.
