  1. On my '03 RX 300 you do it this way and it may work on yours: Press Menu Button Click System Options on Screen In the System Options Menu: Press the upper left corner of the screen Press the lower left corner of the screen Press the upper left corner of the screen Press the lower left corner of the screen Press the lower right corner of the screen Then a similar set of options will appear as did in the '04 and '05 screen. Press Override and now the passenger can input while moving There is a catch, the system you use on the '04 and '05 can be done while the vehicle is in motion, the above can not be because the System Options button is greyed out while you are moving. If you suddenly need to use it, you have to pull over or stop at a traffic light, override it, and then be on your way. Also if you don't press in the far corners it will not work. Some times it takes me several tries to get it to work.
  2. I have noticed the same thing. As soon as I start noticing all of the little bumps, etc. in my Lexus, I end up riding on a trip with a coworker or family member and quickly remember how good the Lexus ride is. Then I am enjoing my vehicle all over again.
  3. The way I understand it, those are just timers and do not know what status any of that is at. Example, you can set the Oil to go off at 5000 miles or 4 months but it has no way of knowing if the oil is in good shape and could go a while longer or if it needs to be replaced sooner. Same for the other options like pads. You could say you want to change them every 2 years or x amount of miles and it would warn you around that time, but it doesn't know if they need it or not. If I am mistaken, let me know.
  4. I can't wait!! I have a 2001 database and need to update bad.
  5. I had went to their website :Homelink Home Security Page, but it just says there were two companies that made them but are no longer being made. I just wandered if anyone knew of a source that might have them?
  6. I have seen in my Lexus manual that the homelink can be used to open not only garage doors but remote home door locks as well. I have been searching and it appears that someone used to make them but quit and I have not been able to find one to buy. Do any of you know who might have one of these or know if they work at all?
  7. Nick, How did you open the center console? I am attemping to also install my satellite radio unit in the top drawer but I remove the two screws on each side of the console that are visible with the front seats all the way up but only the rear rises, I can get the whole top to come off. What holds the top of the console on the front end of it? Thanks, Kevin Muscle Shoals, AL
  8. Thanks, I have done several searches for many questions I have had and found answers here. This is a very informative site.
  9. I actually don't expect Lexus to do anything, but some GPS maping company makes their database for them and I am sure they want their software to be as accurate as possible. Its not that it doesn't have my streets in the database, they are there just with the wrong names. I work with software developers all of the time and without feedback, they don't know their product is wrong. I plan on buying DVD updates every couple of years and it they get their corrections in soon enough, it could be fixed by the 2006-2007 CD's. Then at least when someone gets in my car and drives with me they aren't saying "wait, you don't live on Maple St. There isn't even a Maple St. here, etc.". I love my navigation and have it on two vehicles and it is great even with mistakes here and there. I am totally digital and attempt to never use paper anything!!
  10. I just purchased an RX 300 and was going to look at the pinned FAQ at the top of the forum but it says it has been disabled and all I can view is the first post. Is it supposed to be that way or is it something I am doing wrong? Thanks, Kevin
  11. Is that supposed to mean something to me or was that meant for someone else? ← No not for you, v84x4, who is now known as 12345. And, he's back again. Sorry if I wasn't clear. ;) ← Okay, Thanks.
  12. I really like the feel of the wood for casual driving. It is much more confortable to me.
  13. I bought my first Lexus, a 2005 ES 330 last month and that is inline with what I paid. My wife and I really enjoy it. We researched for 6 months ourselves before purchasing. You should be very happy with your purchase.
  14. Is that supposed to mean something to me or was that meant for someone else?
  15. I will give them a try. I wasn't sure if Lexus themselves would actually pass it on but it is worth trying.
