  1. Yes, i am also interested especially since you only mention 1 specific year when the 95 and 96 are exactly identical.
  2. Fuse? You would have to short the wire connecting under the seat belt clasp. Problem is the computer will think you are wearing a seat belt and activate the airbag which will kill you without the belt. So make sure you always wear the seat belt if you override the system.
  3. Your shift lock switch is sticking or broken. You need to clean it.
  4. The single cycle is supposed to tell you something. I just can't remeber what it is. Call a dealer and ask them what it means.
  5. Try explaining what you are doing in a step by step detail so i know exactly what is happening. Have you tried from the passenger side?
  6. You can't ,you need a different motors and wiring
  7. alright , i am going to shut another thread down. Thank your friendly local neighbourhood monarch.
  8. Alternators do not make noise when they are going they just start to dim the lights on everything. The buzzing may be from a bad ground wire you moistened.
  9. It is actually made just for that reason . For heads of states ,diplomats and out of country excursions. basically it is the car of the excess wealthy in the Eastern asia world.
  10. yes the rust would get larger . Rust is cancer pretty much It will take over and no matter what you do the tissue (metal) is necrotic and has to be completly removed.
  11. I agree monarch is a very hard headed member who always "thinks" he is right by repeating himself over and over and over again like we missed the first posts he made. For once in this thread he was stating things simply , do i agree with them not really as people who mod cars are just as varied as one who do repairs. It can go either way in regards to replacement parts. Is there something you personally have a problem with in regards to Monarch in this thread Bartkat?
  12. Do you thinnk monarch was really talking about a spark plug Lexusfreak? Maybe more parts that have reliability issues like a ball joint or something else? I think the question is already answered You want an aftermarket versus OEM debate . That 2 is a waste of time arguring over. OEM is quality that the aftermarket does not bring this is a fact and we all know it. Will buying components ( not filters and plugs) be superior to OEM ,highly unlikely in any part fo the world unless the part is made to "fix" a specific OEM design flaw.
  13. I have a full set of everythign from grille to center caps and muffler tips. If interested let me know.
  14. Just remembered i had a pic of me in one of the first E55 a while back.
  15. Go and get it as part of the deal for the warr. I would not even take that engine apart and i am a tech as well as i worked for MB until recently. Put it this way the mantra for that car is one man one engine .So one guy builds the whole thing by hand, if you have problems it is removed and shipped back to Germany they don't work on the major stuff. I remember in the Summer there was a brand new 1400km 2005 S55 black on black with cardboard under it and the front air 1 foot off the ground. I asked the techs and they said it is waiting for the motor to come back ,i asked why and they said it had an internal problem and they had to send it back to Germany "Head office rules" for AMG. I know you will love the car as i sure have driving them. But you don;t want any repair costs for it in any way. I only wish i was still with MB so i could play around with the TT V12 65 series engines with 800 hp and torque ,now that is power. I would also search quietly and find out how to put the car into " dyno" mode for a few minutes as the experience will really make you love the car more even if it costs you a pair of tires. It is all out test mode. No traction No ABS No vehicle stability No ABC No limiters Just all out raw power with instant throttle. There is also a air ride controller which can get the car to lower and raise as needed just like the LS. enjoy
  16. I thought it would be in a map set up . Oh well one day they might get it together like Europe and have a gps map embedded with photo radar camera locations. It is funny how in the UK alone they have have to put signs up ahead of the photo radar points to tell you so you don;t slam on your brakes and cause more accidents. It gives you time to slow down. It is such a hilarious concept but a simple one that works. Now if we could get there drivers instead of the retards that use North American roads it would be a beautiful day.
  17. It is a very nice car. I hope you got an extended warr for it , as it is the first car that gave me the feeling of "in the pit of my gut" but it was also flawed in break downs. I still would take an S55 over and E55 any day. Another reason to say when will Lexus wake up and make some cars that are "tuners"
  18. A very common modification in the tuner world where body kits are added. Usually they have the bracket come out from under the bumper so it is much lower.
  19. You need an amp meter to be hooked up to your battery and disconnect fuses 1 by 1 to trace the source of your major drain as it should be fully charged for atleast 1 week of sitting and be fine for atleast 10 starts with no issues.
