  5. I believe turn signals in the US must flash amber in the front and flash amber or red in the rear. steviej
  6. you kids are too funny. You have proved my point for me. go back and look at your posts. all that I see is: am not......am too.....am not.....am too. bicker bicker bicker. Army as long as anyone is old enough to be my son or younger, they will always be a youth in my eyes. maturity does not come with age, it is the result of life's experiences. not stop fighting and go clean your rooms. steviej
  7. if it is not the tire pressure, It may be the balancing. I have seen tires throw weights before, too. They balance right, then the car is returned to the owner, they drive off and clink....there goes a weight at 55 mph. Then the vibration starts. Check the pressures. if ok, then take it back to the dealer for a rebalance or take it to a shop with the Hunter Road Force balancing machine for the best possible balance. If the you find the tire pressure is high and you drop it to 30 and then the ride is smooth.......ENJOY! steviej
  8. oh yeah, I forgot this. If you go for the black out headlights, then you have to complete the set with the black out tails and fog lights found on this page. more black out stuff enjoy. steviej
  9. ralf, here is a link for you. www.l-tunedparts.com I linked it right to the black headlight page. This is a subsidiary of Carson Toyota/Lexus in LA. I don't know if the IS300 lights will fit an IS200 as that model is not here in the US. Secondly I don't know what is needed to get them shipped from Japan to the US then to Germany. You might be able to talk to them at l-tunedparts and discuss how to get them from Japan to Germany. you can email Steve (the man at l-tunedparts.com that would know) at gonzo4u@earthlink.net I hope this helps. ps, wicked nice looking car. steviej
  10. personally I think the Bridgy Potenza RE92 where a 1/2 step up from bald tires in the snow. Absolutely the worst thing I have ever ridden on in the snow. We have had several snow storms and one is currently going on right now. I can't speak for the Toyos as I don't have them. The Dunlop Sport A2's are decent in the snow. I am quite impressed. We ain't talking jack rabbit starts, but now spinns, no fish tails in the corners and no side stepping on as you describe. Remeber, these are not snow tires, they are all season radials. They are not designed for snow accumulation over several inches. The Prius may have been better feeling in the snow because the tire width is less than that of the ES, right? Steve, we got more snow coming, so be careful out there. steviej
  11. consult your Toyota/Lexus dealership. Be prepared to show some kind of documentation for oil changes. "some Kind of" may vary from dealership to dealership. Toyota has a engine replacement guarentee for the 1mz-fe engine for specific years do to sludging. It is 10 years from first registration and unlimited mileage. You may or may not be included. Start by calling 1-800-25-LEXUS and find out more details. Talk to the dealership you usually do business with. steviej
  12. when in doubt: always read the destructions!! :chairshot: steviej
  13. I said knock on wood, not knock on woody. my god, today's youths, minds are always in the gutter. :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot: steviej
  14. This is a loaded question because it depends on what was done previous to your ownership and what you have records of being done. What was the mileage the car had the TB done and have you had the car since new? I would use this mileage and start your paper mileage counter at 0, and do all maintenance required at 5,000 mile intervals as you would it the car was brand new. These are outlined in the supplemental owner's manual. If you don't have one, call 1-800-25-LEXUS (option #4) and request one, or get one on ebay (sometimes they come with the leather binder too for short money). If you know not what was done previous, then consider doing a 30k mile service as it is a replacement of all fluids and some misc. stuff. Then start your manintenance clock here and perform all 5,000 mile services as the mileage increases. steviej
  15. I find my car to be very handy when I tell someone in my car to "knock on wood". Now they ain't goin for my head. :chairshot: steviej
  16. it probably does not fall under a recall item because it is not considered a safety related failure. my guess it is listed as a TSB or technical sercive bulletin. If your car is still under warranty, it should be covered. If not, then speak to the customer service rep for your area or the service manager and see if they can't meet you half way on the price or pick up the whole tab. nothing happens until you ask the right people. steviej
  17. Now we're talkin'!!!!! :snoooorrrtttt: you gonna put the strut bar back or will it not fit now? steviej
  18. just don't replace them with the neon nozzles............please say you won't. steviej
  19. open the hood and look under the windshield wipes. This is the cowl and there are a bunch of vent openings. Looks like a grate. You want to spray the lysol more on the passengers side. When you stand on the passengers side and look down in the grate you will see the actual vent opening to the AC/Heat system. Concentrate your spraying here. here is a pic of my friends GS with the cowl pointed to by arrows. It is not an ES but is the same general area. steviej
