  3. nah, i use 5w-30 Mobil 1 synthetic all year round, I gots to keep it simple. No problems with Mobil 1 filters or K&N. Hey, you taking the road trip this Sunday with a bunch of us NJ for a huge Lexi meeet. steviej
  4. For all those going we are supposedly meeting in Grove 1: Hey kids, just thought some of you might like to know where Grove 1 is located. Roosevelt Park is a good size and you could wander for a while before you find it. the easiest way to get to Grove 1 is to take Route 1 to Parsonage Road heading North. essentially, keep the Mall on your left while on Parsonage from Route 1. after you pass the mall you'll come to a stop light. make the left onto Oakwood Avenue. you'll see a hospital on your left after you make the turn on Oakwood. directly opposite the hospital entrance is the entrance to Grove 1 (which is on the right side). you'll actually see the parking lot on the right before you reach the entrance to it. if you look at the Yahoo map (on the first page of this thread) you'll see a lake. that's where Grove 1 is. it has ample parking to fit a number of cars, BUT Grove 1 is also the spot where the lake is. there is also a good sized jungle jim for the kiddies, and there's some sort of asphalt soccer field there as well (i dunno...i just calls them as i see's them) it's like a rec area. there are two parking lots there and another that almost circles the lake. the one furthest from the lake is only a single-lane parking, but is nice and long. the other is a good sized lot but that may be where we have the most competition from non-meet people. if you enter the park from anywhere else, just follow signs for the ice skating rink. that's also where Grove 1 is. FOOD: there is a Wendy's, McDonald's, and White Castle within a 1/4 mile of the park. there's also a diner and some restaurants in the same area. dummy me forgot to check to see if there were grills at the Grove 1 spot, but for some reason i think there are. if not, then they are a bit of a walk away. gas statons are all around too for those who'd like to top-off before heading back on the road for home. steviej
  5. Philly, i didn't forget you. Look on page 1 of this thread. you are listed. That long list is from CL. just a hint of what cars are going to be there. There are people coming from Philly and i started a thread with a link for caravan infor. PharmGuy, I am meeting two others for the ride. You are welcome to caravan with us. We will be meeting before we get on 84. I will hit you up with more details ASAP.
  6. I purchased an 02 ES300 that was built in 2/2002. In November 2002 I received a letter stating my ES was covered for 8 years from the first date of sale or lease and for unlimited miles. so I guess the saga continues. steviej

  8. I have a bunch of stickers that are gold lettering on a black bacground. Very tasteful. take a look when you get there.
  9. I remeber when every car was RWD and we even had studded snow tires. (I think I just showed my age. ) RWD cars + snow = a set of good snow tires all round from Dec to March for NE. The snowtires today are exceptional and reasonably priced. steviej
  10. nelson, Take it to a Toyota or Lexus dealership and have them flush and fill it with the proper fluid. Assuming that it was the wrong fluid initially, take the bill for the most recent service to the place that supposedly used the wrong fluid. Ask them to reimburse you the cost of what you paid them or the cost of what you paid to have it flushed proeprly. If they refuse......take them to small claims court. steviej
  11. welcome Pete. good thing no one was sitting in the Jeep. I too was recently struck by a drunk driver. When will people learn. steviej
  12. your concern is very valid. 3 ways to get it to Lexus. 1. like you are doing....take it to your dealer and have them try to do it in front of you. If they can't recreate exactly what you can/cannot do then have them write it up as a customer concern/dissatisfaction. 2. go to www.lexus.com, register as an owner, then omplete the complaint/question section. your complaint will be logged with a reference number and a reply will be given within a couple of business days. 3. call 1-800-25-LEXUS, press the button for customer service (I think it is option 4, but I haven't done this route in a while). Discuss you exact problem with a customer service rep, they will then write it up as a problem. good luck, steviej
  13. one 18lb tiger cat named Spot. He is the ruler of the house. I love animals, but my schedule does not permit a dog. I do baby(puppy)sit for my friends dogs. 1. border collie named Angel. She is a sweetheart 2. a chocalate lab that is a moose. Her name is Bailey. she's about 110 lbs of pure puppylove. She takes me for the walk. steviej
  14. they might if you walked in with the kbb printout. I did that when I bought the ES. They were going to give me $2000 for my SSEi. When I showed them the kbb printout, they recalculated with $3125 (value from kbb) as the trade-in value. It may also be dependent on how bad dealers what to move stock and weather or not Mercury is in retrograde (j/k). steviej
  15. according to www.kbb.com, my car as it is today (amenities, mileage, location, condition, etc) fetched a private party resale value of $580 more with the spoiler and a trade in value $500 more with the spoiler. Agreed, you won't get back what you put in. I like Alan, put it on cause I like the way it makes my ES look, and that is all that is important. steviej
  16. cyphertext69: I have no problem with the announcement of the meet, however the link to TBKO was at this time contrary to forum guidelines. Please review the guidelines and contact me or any member of Forum Adminstration or management if you have any further questions. Thanks for you help with this matter. steviej
  17. I have read in several places that a major flush on a tranny that hasn't had the fluid changed in a long while can create pressure problems and leakage problems when the old/thick/dirty fluid is removed or flushed out. When I get home in the morning, I will find the exact wording or reference and post back. steviej
  18. I would start small, just a drain and fill. If you do a mechanical flush of the entire system you may be in for more problems seeing that it hasn't been flushed in a wicked long time. steviej
  19. here is a link for anyone interested in caravan information. Sometimes the fun part of the meets is getting there in a group. I love watching peoples' faces when a squadron of Lexi rolls past. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...4884#post874884 steviej
  20. quick question? does satellite radio reception suffer the same problems that dish TV signals do in bad weather? I am kinda getting interested in what you did SW03ES. steviej
  21. bad analogy. I can show you tons of pictures and lab data as well as million dollar litigations about the harms and effects of cigarette smoking, retrospective and prospective. what do you have for data and facts that says it is NOT ok to switch back and forth or use a non-Toyota fuel injector cleaner other than the engineers say so?? I have to start to wonder if you yourself are an Toyota/Lexus engineer. I grow tired of this discussion, I will continue to use the fluids and filters that I have been using for 20 years, AND I will be comfortable with that. good day, Mr. Monarch. steviej
  22. you are ok? right? That's the most important thing. What happened? of course you should get a replacement Lex! :chairshot: steviej
  23. Cool, I have a 2 hot blue LOC window stickers with your name on them. see you there. steviej
  24. and your point is???? so are you saying I should throw personal experience to the wind? I think it will be a happier world (for me) if I keep doing what I have been doing. I am sure you will enjoy your existing level of happiness if you keep doing what you do. If we use lack of problems as a reference then neither one of us is wrong in doing what we do. Agreed? sj
