  1. car needs fuel + air + spark to run. The problem is finding which one of the three is missing in your case. Is sounds very suspicious of a fuel pump that has gone dead. Where there any codes or a CEL that came up before she shut down? This may help lead you to what crapped out before it died? steviej
  2. a pretty girl to sit next to you would be nice if you don't already have one. ;) :D ok, I'm all about lighting. Change out your lights and fogs to a nice white bulb. I suggest Sylvania Silverstars or PIAA Xtreme Whites. as for waxes and stuff.....cruise the Inside & Out Detailing Forum. welcome to the club, sit back and enjoy the ride. steviej
  3. Alan, of the three of you...........who ate the cake? :D ;) steviej
  4. that schedule is in the Supplemental Owners Manual. On the 02 ES is was a second book that come in the leather pouch. I don't know if you have that book. If not, I would be more than happy to photocopy and fax or mail you the pages out of mine as it is the same book for all lexi. Go to your dealer, maybe they have one laying around. You could also call 1-800-25-Lexus and ask for a copy. Another idea is to try ebay, sometimes you can get can pick up the entire package (owners manual, supplemental manual and leather pouch) for cheap money. steviej
  5. this is awesome. We can have our own LOC mini-meet (yeeah baby). Alan, we need to do a picture of our two ES's back to back at a slight angle. It will look like one of us is parked against a mirror. roberttran....of course you are invited. I even put a special invite in the LX forum. Modification of your ride is not a requirement to be present. Please come. steviej
  6. welcome to the site chaplex. As for the computer tie-up, simple, buy your wife her very own computer and go broadband. ;) steviej

  8. as long as you keep the same wattage as the stock bulb then you won't have any melting issues. Sylvania Silverstars and PIAA Extreme Whites are your best bet. here is a link to a reputable site that has a decent discount: http://www.performancecenter.com/products/...IARY+LAMP+BULBS steviej

  13. what were the exact code(s) that came up? steviej
  14. the speedo will not change if the overall diameter of the wheel stays the same. For a better explanation that what I just said, go to TireRack.com and read all about it in their tire sizing section. It is explained very well. steviej
  15. why spend the money? :chairshot: A spare tire is just that, a spare. It's primary purpose is to get you out of harm's way and to a safe point where your damaged tire can be repaired or replaced as soon as possible. Think about the number of cars that came with a donut spare. Owners don't run out to get a 5th matching tire. Whatever you have in the trunk as a spare, just check it at least every other month to make sure it is up to pressure. Tires lose ~1 psi per month. steviej
  16. ask for a $15 credit on your next service. They performed an unauthorized service and that is not right. If they won't, take it up the 1-800-25-LEXUS. steviej
  17. bad lexus: what was the intent of your post? That extended warranty provision by Toyota is over a year old. Several members have posted reports of their repairs that were completely taken care of under the provisions of this ruling. If auto club web sites were to list all the class action rulings for all the the car manufacturers out there, there wouldn't be any room for us. steviej
  18. was the water and soap test done with the tire off the car? I had an instance once where I needed the weight of the car on the tire to make the leak appear. The weight of the car distorted the tire enough that the leak became evident. Pay particular attention to, as mentioned earlier, to valve stem. Take the cap off the valve stem too to inspect the metal push pin. Sometimes the plastic cap on the stem is enough to make the water test look like there are no bubbles but over a 24 hour period, enough air escapes here to flatten the tire. Try the soap thing again with the tire on the car if previously off the car. Last ditch effort: I read once in an auto repair column once that someone once filled the tire with a UV dyed gas or air, like they do with AC systems and then looked for the leak under a black light. good luck. steviej
  19. gserep1: Very well said.....X3. I couldn't agree with you more. I am certain that the discussion of dino vs synthetic will go on as long as Lite Beer's arguement over "less filling" or "tastes great". steviej
