  1. overhead is also called dome light. owners manual will tell you location of each and how many.
  2. go to www.sylvania.com, then click on automotive lighting, then click on bulb/lamp relplacement. plug in you year/make/model and then you will get a list of all the replaceable bulbs. steviej
  3. It can be done on the ES and it has been done on the ES. This was a hot topic over a year ago hear and on CL. Do a search on "angel eyes" and "devil eyes" but extend you search limit to over a year ago. As I remeber, there were actually several ways to acheive this look and one could even be done simply with material from a computer store. steviej
  4. discuss this with the service manager and the general manager of the dealership. Inspecting the cooling system and replacing the coolant is part of the 60k service. Since you just dumped $2200 into their pockets, they should at least meet you half way on this one. They may have knicked something or dislodged something. God forbid they created the malfunction to get more business. Speak to them with a raised eyebrow (suspicious kinda). Call the 800-25-LEXUS number and tell them about it. Couple questions: 1. what was wrong with the AC/radio.....fuse maybe? 2. what did they say was wrong with the "cooling system" that requires $420 to repair. If it was fine going in and "fell apart" going out....something doesn't sit right with me. But I'm am not there and cannot view the car. Not too mention I am as cynical as they come. <_< steviej
  5. living on the New England coast line, fog is just another part of the day. Gav is correct, yellow cuts the fog better. If they ain't yellow, then they are "driving lights" and the intent is to illuminate the ground immediately in front of you (under the headlight span). Some driving lights cast a short but wide spread so that the shoulder of the road is illumintated, where as the headlight area is further up the road. don't know what you would do to hide them other than some extensive body work. steviej
  6. I think it would be analogous to comparing the Camry to the ES. steviej.
  7. most small boat trailers don't come with brakes. But an upgrade of the trailer is always an option, too, depending on the size of the boat. steviej
  8. 93LSOwner, those cars (or owners) just ain't right. steivej
  9. Shard, you are intelligent when it comes to automotive technology,. but you need to take a class in sensitivity and tact. <_< opinion, sure, but some things are better left unsaid or said in a softer tone. :chairshot: SW03ES, our cars are distinctive, sleek, alluring, and very very luxorious! :D steviej
  10. Check your owners manual and find out what the max towing weight is. That includes boat, motor, trailer, all the equipment in the boat and don't forget the weight of the gas if the boat's tank is full (most people forget that 40gallans of fuel weights almost 300 lbs.). You shouldn't have a problem but I would suggest that you look into adding an oil cooler and/or a tranny fluid cooler. These items will prolong the life of your motor due to the added stress of towing. Go to your library or search on the web, a good magazine is "Tralier Boat" (www.trailerboats.com). They often have tips and do vehicle ratings. They list the 2003 AWD RX300 at 3500 lbs., BUT they do not list the 2WD RX300. The most important part of towing is driver experience. Learn how to judge stopping distances, acceleration, turning and all the other caviats of the vehicle that change when a major load is pulled behind your vehicle. (most people forget that there is now 15-20' of stuff behind them). steviej
  11. check out www.tirerack.com alot of your questions about maximum sizing and rim size can be answered there. steviej
  12. nice. I love huge rigs like that. Always wanted to be a truck driver....ever since I was a kid and saw the TV show "Movin On" with Claude Akins. I ended up in medicine instead. life is funny. Mr Sypher, have fun with your toys. steviej
  13. Mobil1 10w-30 (high mileage formula) will do you fine. If a leak develops, then go back to conventional 10w-30. No big deal. steviej
  14. do a search as this has been asked and answered many times. Sylvania Silverstars are probably the best bet for the money. PIAA Xtreme Whites are very nice but a little more pricey. here is a web site that has good prices on all sorts of bulbs. http://www.performancecenter.com/products/...iary+Lamp+Bulbs just look in your manual for the proper bulbs. I think your lows are H7 and highs are 9005's. It is a piece of cake to do them. I can walk you through it on the phone or, again, search, as there a threads that discuss this. If you change the headlights, please do the fogs at the same time to keep the peace (ok-balance, but peace sounded so much better). steviej
  15. Pontiac did this with me when they were unleashing the GTO. It was kinda fun but very very sales driven. I told them I was just there for the fun and the free stuff. I love fun days like that.....when you get to beat on someone's elses car and then leave. steviej
  16. are you saying that you take your computer to the bathroom?....now this thread has really gone out the window. ______________________________ exdotcomer......not a problem dude. sj
  17. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! :D PharmGuy......it was great meeting you and I am glad you had a good time. Here is a hint of the next meet I want to plan.............. .....................I want to do it at Six Flags over New England in Agawam. Have a mini meet in the morning then hit the roller coasters for the rest of the day. You in?, bring the kids. I love a good coaster, over and over and over and...you get the point. steviej
  18. I have heard of it. Several CL members have used it and posted about it. My recount says it is very good stuff but it is very expensive stuff. Too much so, that I wouldn't even consider it. For the cost difference it wouldn't serve any more advantage than Amsoil or Mobil 1 changed at my regular 5k interval. I have too many other things to obcess about....I don't need another one. steviej
  19. Its the AC expansion valve. Very common problem on the 1st generation ES. You description was great and nailed it. steviej
  20. exdotcomer, don't worry, you were not forgotten in the midst of this debating. If you can still see some coolant in your overflow jug--REGARDLESS OF COLOR--then the safest and easiest thing to add is distilled water.....<$1/gallon. Just bring the level up to where it needs be. It will only take a cup or two. This amount of water added will not drastically throw off the ratio of coolant/water already in the system. However, if you find that you need to do this often, then have your system pressure tested for leaks and find out where it is going. You will get some minimal loss due to evaporation but you shouldn't have to constantly "top it off". steviej
  21. is a new route to work out of the question until the construction is over? The ride I got on my 18s compared to the stock 16's I do not think will make a major difference if I were there, so I am thinking that 17's may be a bit of money to drop for something that my not yield the improvement you are looking for. Also, keep in mind the higher you go, the more potential damage you may suffer due to the construction condion of the mixing bowl itself. steviej
  22. scan/search through the gallery. Then contact the owner as to what wheel it is if not listed. Here are mine. Hope you find what you are looking for. steviej
  23. totally lovin the eyelids! nice color too. steviej
  24. how about this one? you can order it in your factory paint color. http://www.spoilerdepot.com/Catalog.asp?A=...ModelTemp=&idB= Or how about the one for a 02-04 Camry, it might fit? http://www.spoilerdepot.com/Catalog.asp?A=...ModelTemp=&idB= steviej
