oh man dang no doubt- the balck will easily mar and acratch on the downside on the fliposide using the best products u can outshine any other black car...!!! shines up gr8 gr8... --FYI i learned on here the Black Obs. has no clear coat at all... so the CW will swirl it--read the detailing thread on here... some gr8 products that work well on the black SOnus cr wash, utlima paint guard plaus, DWG (danase WEt Gloss) my black is super shiny using thes products and others... also use ONR Optimum no rinse--- car wash with no rinse gr8 in the winter as i live in nY.... can do it in garage with no drain... gluck!! I have the same color, Black Obsidian. This color is high maintenance but thanks for the advice. I think i'll skip the free car washes.

I have the ML and luv it---- had a bose which was good but the ML I hear so many sounds that i could not hear on the bose --as the bass was too loud! I am not an audiophile but always upgraded my car stereos from car ! my first beloved aftermarket Alpine! anywho in researching Ear buds for my ipod I finally went with the shure 530's--but one of the things i discovered is that a lot of cheaper speakers will boost the bass to cover up sins...;-) so it took me some getting used to the ML but luv them . One thing i also saw was the ML was superior to the premium, there were a lot of neg comments on the premium stereo.... so good luck and post back what u do!

hello and welcome--Lexus have really soft paint ....for me 2008 black Obsidian i was to late adn got sever swirls and marring form a car wash supposedly using only boars head etc... no more car washes--found the gr8 detailing thread here, learned form the gr8 experienced detailers here... and no i rool on my own! Car always looks gr8 and when i cant clean it i live with it--but that is never too long... No swirls for me! good luck

hello I did not use a rotary for over like 20 years... So when i discovered my black lexus has no clearcoat and can be scratched from car washes it was too late... ton surface scratches... I bought the Flex based upon recommendations I found on the web and some experienced detailers on this and other boards. Worth every penny. random orbit is the way to go-Iloved using the FLEX! used it 2X on 2 cars-no issues easy to use... u can find a ton of posts in this forum on how and what to do the car... Clay it to remove contaminants--polish protect (again research what you want to use everyone has their products from ultima, Sonus, etc to use) th eonly way to hurt the car would maybe be if u tried to polish plastic parts? or really spazzed out and fell and smashed your car with the handle....I taped up all the seams and platic parts i could hit while polishing, I have 3 cars to do when it gets little warmer and i can block out some weekend days.. Welcome Doc! Congrats sthe deal ounds pretty good.. one word warning 07 was the 1.0 release for the redesigned ES 350 so had more quirky issues. I have the 08 and no issues to date..Love it. Post some pix in your profile gallery and there is a thread to post pix too. What would be interesting is you thoughts on the differences in the 3 cars you use. The 350 is more soft lux ride--versus sportier cars... so definite differences. good to hear it from someone who uses 3 cars interchanging... cheers and g- luck!

1- Welcome to the board 2- Not the dealers fault.... Gasoline or any corrosive should be taken off the paint immediately--leaving on for a few Hours can damage paint. Even bird-crap--- remove it with a microfiber cloth and some detail quick spray immediately---if a defect caused the gas to leak from the cap different---but looks -sounds like you or someone is at fault spilling gas on it--than not cleaning it up for 2 days so dealer is not liable for self inflicted damage 3- Check out the detailing thread I would think-hope a polish would fix the paint if not a more corrosive compound.... 4- visit the detailing thread lots good threads talking product and process to do it... Ps i learned that my black es 2008 ES 350 has no clear coat and is scratched very easy in car wash's-- so i went to the detailing thread and ended up buying lot excellent products, Optimum no rinse for winter indoor no rinse washing, a flex random orbital polisher, bunch other gr8 products.. fixed the scratches gr8.... cant wait for the temp to get up and will do a spring lite polish ..remove all the road grime scratches from roadwork and winter... g-luck! :D

Mayhaps u r just not used to it? yah the manual and maint guide are too big for the glove and i don't want it taking up all the center console space.. I never have an issue with the net blocking the entrance. g luck all!

I should have been more specific--I usually leave the setting in auto--when i must have hit light settings i knocked the setting out of auto and into lights on in addition to pushing into the brights mode so the issue was not just leaving on the brights but rather accidentally hitting out of auto mode so duh on me <_< I have a 2008 ES and that is not my experience. I drive with the brights on regularly and turn the car off and leave it as always. The lights go out I guess because the next morning it starts up and the lights will be on bright, as I left them the night before!

I love my cargo net.... i keep in it digital tire pressure reder, in original packaging, the user manual for the car, spare plastic garbage bag to line the trunk with if transporting anything like bags soil etc, some bug protectorant for summer, put in loose stuff when shopping so it does not roll around in the trunk... and it takes up little space for what it provides,,,, some other stuff I keep my cd cases (have th eML stereo so 6 cde's in car usually ) in the glove and my insurance.. so kudo's for the cargo net IMO.... IMHO, the cargo net is the greatest invention since the glove compartment. There's always something in mine. It keeps things organized and in one place, and is a great place to hid things when the car is parked. How can you not like the cargo net???? Lou

What color are u getting? g-luck either way it will be nice IMO no spoiler as the car has nice lines..... I had dealer do moldings all around (side, wheels front-back bumper) ---the moldings have within 10 months (~6900 + miles) saved my car about 10 dings from other morons!!! had spoiler on my previous 99 maxima SE liked it on there ---spoiler on the Es is sort of small imo.... but hey look and see what u like--some like the spoilers really a personnel preference.. enjoy!

another learned tip Be careful when leaving car u do not push the brights on ! as the lights will remain on and not automatically shut off... So upon parking in my garage yesterday---hour or 2 later my daughter tells me my front lights are on as she went to the garage refrigerator... so found i must have accidentally pushed forward the brights (on the left of the steering wheel) ---assumed lights would turn off as usual not noticing the brights were on... ah well.. lucky i go to it before the battery died...

Hey Rick--congrats and enjoy---- I have the 2008 es350 (loaded ultraLux-ML- stereo-navi etc) and 8650 miles no issues and love driving it.... very comfortable ride. One thing that might be different is that the ES is silent, like extra cushion shoes and comfortable--quick going straight but will not ride like sports cars (infiniti,audi bmw, Mercedes, lexus GS or IS etc) I had a MAxima SE that could take turns fast --when i tried with the ES i found out it will automatically brake! So enjoy the comfortable...but remember it will not handle as well as sport-cars...

Yah Brandon we all would agree -- the es is a comfort ride not sporty like the bmw's or other sport ride cars... My maxima was the SE and i could take turns at 80 etc... Funny thing when i took a 'quik turn' on a semi loop entrance to a parkway shortly after buying the ES, I i learned the ES will brake by itself .hahaha So was wondering on other things, interior comforts, reliability etc.... so keep us abreast and again congrats...ps are you going to take it to an audio place for a radio upgrade let us know how u do thank-ya and cheers!

Hey Brandon..... sorry but gotta agree with SW here. I agree with your point for 40K etc should not be an issue but let the buyer beware! I trust no one but my own when buying car or other things, certainly never a car salesman Music always important to me from replacing a junk stock stereo in my Lincoln capri uhhh 20 plus years ago ;_) with an alpine and some fancy speakers etc.. (ok so i am a little deaf now!) I always got upgrades stereos in cars. My last Maxima had a good Bose in it, I went with the ultra pack with the ML stereo. Almost every review on the web tells of how the ES 350 base stereo was an issue.... the ML is very good. But look at the bright side, the ul with nav etc is more expensive so u could go to a stereo car store and get them to replace the stereo speakers etc at a cost less than the ul with ml upgrade would have cost..... Welcome to the Leus family. my first i have had it for 8 mos and love love love it--no issues nada one for me (knock on wood) .. would love to hear your thoughts on the other differences good and bad with the BMW(think u said u owned this previous?) cheers

thanks for clarifying---no such issue did u not notice it the day you picked upo the car? I have no issues 08 350 UL package.... comfortable all the way... I would not have accepted delivery on it.... you may have to fight with the dealer, hopefully not.. g-luck

when i want to keep th ipod out i close it no issues...othertimes when i am on a consant playlist i just leave it in the console PS i got one that was retractable off ebay last year for like 8 bux...

yo ER... i think it may be user related. :) . y would the passenger seat have more controls than the drivers ? the one thing maybe u do not like is the lumbar (severely stiffens up lower back area) control may be on.. disengage that. I dunno why your drivers side would not have all the controls a passenger would have. maybe they work different? I have ul 2008 and my driver seat has every single adjustment tilt etc.... plus the lumbar... so g'luck! Ps - i am a big dude 6-2 240 lb--wide shoulders-long legs and fit in fine... this was a big consideration for my purchase (previous maxima 99 wife has had various trucks custom vans etc)

Clarification the 2 hidden buttons under the steering wheel the one on the right is the headlight turning button LEft button is used to reset the TPM (Tire pressure Monitor) - to reset the TPM with car running hold button in and the TPM light should blink 3x and go out, release button than stop and restart car--light should be off

Yep I got these --end of the summer to ensure I had them and affter our first sprinkle of snow in Long Island 3 weeks or so ago in they went --- I am thinking of leaving the driver one in all year round when spring comes change the others back my foot always makes a hole in the carpet and one hasdeveloped in my carpet mat... 1)who else leaves them in year round? I would think most of us in snow areas use these? 2) anyone use others? these are really nice mats and I have not found 3rd market mats of equal quality IMO yet.. anyone else that have?
