  1. Very nice ride..... mucho better handling on the expressway entrances--handling on turns it feels 100% better MXM4 Michelin Primacy's Rock!!!!!
  2. they r on--Look good only went about 10 miles and no highway (that will occur in an hour) but the comfort feels the same as the Bridgestone Turanzas.. And that was all i liked about them! Should see improved handling etc. Costly but not having to replace every year or so will make me a happy camper!!
  3. just closed --going with the MXM4's newer technology, v rating and better handling braking work for me. got an extra wow!! twelve bux off the price on the install from sts hahaha so $808 for 4. I will let ll know how i like 'em--expect to get em on Saturday--maybe Friday if i can move some work around
  4. thanks I am still waffling: Best prices and most convenient came down for me to Costco and STS. STS much more convenient and local so I am pretty sure that is where i head. another advantage I get the $70$ rebate card if I use STS (this rebate runs out mid November and is not available if you buy from large chains like Sam's or Costco, etc.) current pricing: Michelin Primacy 255/55/r17 1) MXM4 V rated (which the oem's are rated on the ES and most reviews I have seen indicate you should stick with the same rating as on the OEM tires) $189 per tire (plus 15.95 per tire install balance new stem and disposal)so total about $820 total than get rebate $70= TCO of $750 2) MXV4 H rated $167 per tire add 15.95 per tire = $752 than get rebate $70= TCO of $682 3)Mxv4 S8's $215 per ---$920 installed Not considering these Note: Michelin rates M4 vs V4's --- Both rated 10 on fuel efficiency, V4 wins with 10 on tread wear versus 8 for M4, but M4 wins on Handling and Braking with 10- 9 scores, V4 wins on comfort 10-9 This is tough to decide--M4 newer matches the OEM rating (V) and better than V4 in handling and braking, V4 wins in treadware (also has 60K versus 55K tread guarantee) these ratings are from Michelinman website. Note: Putting in 2008 es 350 brings up the s8's and the Mx's not the older V's but I asssume because the v's are the older tire anyone tried both??? decisions, decisions.......
  5. Can all who bought primacy's let me know what exact model numbers they got for their eS 350? Looking at the MP 215/55R17 sizes MXV4 seems to be the choice but i see a new MXM4 available..... this info from michelin site 215/55R17 94V Item No: 13027 Sidewall: BSW Green X I also see to mxV4 -- the s8 which is highest $$ of the three, and plain MV4 Also how much did all pay for 4 tires ? I seem to be getting prices around $175-$200 per tire on the MXV4, M4 - $ 730-$900 total. Looking for 70$ rebate they have for a few weeks October-15 for 2-4 weeks not sure. thanks all
  6. i am not perfect but yah i monitor tire pressure with digital device. I actually added some air just 3 days before. The BT's offer a great ride and i have been happy with the everything but the 2 fails(blowouts) and tread wear on the front. I am planning on calling few places pricing the Bridgestones, it seems the ride and feel is comparable and it has the 60K tread wear guarantee. thanks!!
  7. So Cruising along hway in my black 2008 es350 UL on the expressway 2 nights ago, and Booom, a rock ? nahhh see tire inflation light and realised tire went ka boom (glad it was back tire) 26.6 miles on the car, got 2 new tires last February Bridgestone Tuerenza on the front and the tread is mucho lower than my original back tires.. and i had a 25 k maintenance appt so thought I would see how mucho 2 tires would be, awaiting the price but memory is telling me around $500 installed for 2. I will get the price in a few. I did not feel comfortable on buying 2 more matching BT's, and I would need to replace front soon based on tread wear. So I am getting price on em buttt said let me check the forum on any proper alternatives!! I love the ride but they wear out fast imo, 2nd blow out in 26k miles -- time to look into this forum http://www.consumersearch.com/tires/michelin-primacy-mxv4 so looks like all are very happy with the Michelin Primacy's? How do they compare in soft ride versus BT's ? In NY with 4 seasons thinking all weather is best for me, time is of essence and very time constrained. thanks for direction and any other comments on BT's or Michelin P's would be appreciated
  8. just became 2 Lexus family--es 350 08 ulta lux-rx350 premium plus for wife

  9. Hi just finished the bus mgr meeting to get wife RX350 Premium--- now 2 Lexus family --fyi 2 + years got ton knowledge hooking up with some great detailers --- i love the best the SONUS interior cleaners-(EDIT the cockpit detailer spray)- Clean use every 2-3 -4 weeks-- and the UV protector. once a year i seal with Ultima Interior guard--- My leather Black on Black is looking like new - I always get complements on it.
  10. hey ?? how do you guys delete a profile i have 2 old LG phones I want to delete off.... cannot find where to do it--- thanks
  11. Hi all: Been a while since i have posted but i am a proud papa to a 2009 es350 and gained a ton of knowledge from this site and others on detailing and caring. My initial post was a vetting of the price i negotiated. any-who, since my wife is looking for a crossover coming from a ford expedition, we have looked at the caddy (to small) and the Lexus. Anyone aware of any upcoming incentives? September is usually incentive time, thoughts? Also looking at Acura, few other cross's only other thread i found searching here was old on this subject thanks
  12. Good thread very disaapointed first time i took them up on the courtesy car... WE were jsut over 2 plus foot snow storm but still-- grey IS -Dirty on the outside coveredin a lot of bird crap - Interior was unbearable Smell of cig smoke overwhlmed me-- i left it on my driveway windows open in 20 degree weather to relieve some of the smell Simply put - I wll never accept a car like this again, and i didn't pay for the gas cheers
  13. Actually was on the gas and i felt the car slowing --passed foot over and no brake as it wa lower... don't remember if there were any lights that cam on--. Again I was on a parway exit like a C--going fast cheers
  14. No not my imagination the brakes depressed on their own--- and not a skid but what the sware thought was i guess as i was on a curve off the parkway... whether the light went on, i could not remember just that the brakes depressed on their own... not my imagination If you mean the VSC kicked in, flashed the traction light and beeped to indicate it intervened and righted a skid by strategically braking a specific wheel or wheels then I would buy that. But if you're saying the vehicle just applied the brakes and slowed you down because it thought you were turning too fast...that was your imagination too.
  15. Actually when i first got mine the brakes applied themselves when taking a parkway exit at high speeds (former maxima sports definitly handled turns at higher speed better) tis true..... This is your imagination. The car will never apply the brakes itself unless you are physically applying the brakes. ABS keeps the brakes from locking up during a panic stop...
  16. No ---let me know what sware update ther are referring to when you take it in if you remember. thks I have mine scheduled for next week and my dealer said there is also a software update. is that true. Did they do something similar at your dealership.
  17. AWSW03ESS (and what SW03ES said) I have my standard carpet mats pulled out in winter and put my winter mats in. I paid ~$100 or so for the winter rubber mats. So they just replaced the front 2 as they were in the car when i took it in. regards
  18. I usually ONR spray it leave it on few minutes, than ONR wash (using all mf aka Micro fiber towels) than damp dry--than a QD (quick detailer like fk 425) again with plush MF towels cheers
  19. what color is your car? the Lexus Black has no clear coat on it and thus scratches in almost any car wash-- I found out the hard way -- and that led me to get informed on detailing --andnow-- my first instruction to Lexus service when I bring the car in is no WASH! Only microfiber quality towels touch my car.. you may want to find a good detailer to fix for you and than read up on maintaining it properly yourself. It is a pain to not be able to run it through a car wash in the winter... but my benefit is my car outshines almost all other black cars i see with the proper detailing g luck!
  20. I had my 15K service done and 2 TSB's done at the same time... they replaced the pedal and my 2 front thicker winter mats --with sleeker less ridged rubber mats --nicer ES logo in there.... so much snow and grit form the winter --saved me another job of cleaning them haha... Also they replaced an oil line that i saw on a tsb posted on here (thank you to the poster___ lost thread) I don't feel any worse/Better with the new pedal --had no issues with the old... But as my 16 year old is learning to drive (poor her first teaching car a lexus haha) I feel beeter getting the pedal replaced..
  21. hey welcome! I like to use the sonus cockpit detailer and their uv protector ( http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-620-700.html) ... than 2 x a year i use the ultima interior guard plus (exterior sealant is gr8 too!) http://www.autogeek.net/ultima-interior-guard-12.html work gr8 my 2008 es 350 still smelling new with the sonus care on it for almost 2 years... G luck---- cheers
  22. Yep AWLVS (an what LV... said) the controller for the manual movement of both exterior mirrors needs to be in the left or right position for them to tilt down--- Sometimes u wont want the tilt so i like this feature to be an easy off on switch like so... cheers Make sure the switch for the power mirrors is not in the middle position.
  23. it snaps back on...... need to jsut be patient find where it will snap back on properly dont force it u will feel it smap back in-- aplly just lil pressure.... g luck!
  24. I use a wet mf with my wash soap (ultima wash) with to remove any dust --wipe away some dirt from kids shoes etc... than i treat interior with Sonus cockpit detailer (cleaner and uv protector) both leave a matte finish--and help keep interior looking lint dust free for a while. I love the sonus kit. Got a free sample of fk-1 wood detailer when ordered my Quik detalier fk 425 stuff and it works well on the wood. i have black on black and the somnus goes on both leather and vinyl. For whoever is marring up the interior i find it hard to believe that a Clean MF (where did u get the towel from?) will marr up the interior? sounds like it is dirty or picked up some debris on it (was it dropped?) I bought all my Mf's online no issues g luck! Ps - i also use the ultima interior guard like 3-4 x a year to seal the interior---- My car is bout 1.5 years old now 08 350 --interior i am told lokoks brand new--key i think is to stay on top and not the interior degrade or get dirty and stay dirty, clean at least every 2 weeks--obviously more when dirty (arrghhh kids!!!)
  25. Welcome and g luck with your new car---- I have a black ES 350 (no clearcoat) and the good (a gr8 gr8 shine) the bad is any carwash will scratch or swirl mark it--so u should always do by hand or get someone to do for u. I learned the hard way. Looking in this thread search you will find a ton of good product rec's and processes.... Recommended to me that i used over the last year plus to fix the swirls lite surface scratches (I learned hard way brought to a car wash I was floored seeing the swirls and scratches after)was the sonus clay bar, (green) , Claymagic lube i used ((blue clay bar i used for the wifes truck), Merzena Top inspection to clean off the polish, Sonus fx 2 and 3 polishes (suggest u get a flex or other type of orbiter for machine application), Ultima Paint guard plus sealant, Opti seal sealent, Danase wet Glaze (DWG) FK 425 quik detailer (great detiling studff1) and i love the ultima paint guard wash for the wash I also use Optimum No Rinse (ONR) for Winter washes with the no rinse allowing me to clean in the garage (I live in nY so cold winters snow etc--still try to hose it off if a lot on before ONR) ONR can be used as a clay lube and quik detailer too (I use to remove bird "presents" as well) A ton of MF towels, applicators drying towels, buffing towels, glass towels all MF the online ones recommended are much better IMO and tohers than what u get at the target, home depot etc.. quality wise... (Danase PHAT towels I luv, the DER wunder drying towels as well) So read up in this thread! a ton to learn --Idid and my car is 100X cleaner, protected, sealed and outshining other black cars! G luck!!
