I used Lexol cleaner and conditioner for my cars the last 10-20 years it was the best I could find in stores IMHO Past 6 months using the Sonus Cleaner and conditioner and the car still smells like I took it off the lot. I really prefer Sonus stuff to the lexol smells. cheers

I love all the UL, nav stuff. I have the 08 ES 350 black on black and found the interior better imho than the competition. the body of the 350 has a high trunk so I find going from my 99 maxima to this car I had issues judging backing up. the parking sensors are a godsend and the nav with the backup camera is gr8 to avoid bumper dings. good luck

Es350 Quality Compared With Rest Of Line
rjt65 replied to healinginfluence's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
Healing_: hello and I suggest you look at other threads in this forum for more in-depth comparison of 350 versus bmw, infiniti mercedes, acura etc From much research the biggest difference you would see in lexus from your Mer. E class is that M is more sport, handles fast turns better and is a more sportier car. The newer 350 is fast in a straight line will feel the brakes auto braking taking fast curves but is a total luxury ride. bumps, braking is like you are surrounded by a fluffy slipper, softer seats add to the slipper feeling. Sport cars you feel the road but also the bumps! note that 2007 had a lot of issues as first year production, but 2008 seems to have fixed issues and made some slight adjustments to things that bugged people. had mine (black on black UL with ML stereo- get that ml stereo;lot complaints on stock, (some on ML too)_ with nav.) Love it!! Good luck -
Is Lexus Concealing A Potential Issue With The Es350?
rjt65 replied to nharish's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
what typo of contingency is the lawyer going to charge? cheers and good luck -
I would agree. I have to 2008 Lexus ES fully loaded and it has been flawless. no issues zippo! I love it. luv it luv it. 2007 first year of production re-enforces the golden rule for cars IMHO wait till at least 2nd year of production

no stupid ?'s and stupid is on lexus for not correcting the manual searched the net found this in another lexus board---my wife is out in my car OMG!!!!!!! so i could not check cheers I know for sure I have the AFS headlights - have seen them in action at night. While the manual and the Quick Guide has the button appear to be on the dash, it is actually UNDER the dash below the steering wheel. You'll have to get outside of the car and get on your knees to look under the cover below the steering wheel. The button for resetting the tire pressure monitor will be there, too. (There's another button similarly located beneath the glove box for something else I can't think of right now.)

I would take some of the ratings with a grain of salt, but the dependability rating are based on actual user experiences versus opinions of dashboard, gages etc so I am thrilled with Lexus 350 #1 rating there! I had no problems and luv my car. I also liked the interior (JD Powers P called the wood grain color bad???? hahaha-it had the best in class wood IMHO) the best among infiniti, volvo compatible cars IMHO. One turn off for me on the Infiniti was the wood grain it just rubbed me the wrong way! comfort is king in this car!

I have Black ES 350 and molding all around wheel wells front, back bumpers and sides. So I posted simialar message and DDOC gave me the following advice to remove wax: Horsehair detail brushes- for fine crack cleaning: I use the ones from Autopia and they work fine: http://www.autopia-carcare.com/mbm-br-296.html and http://www.autopia-carcare.com/mbm-296.html I like to spray some QD directly on the area to be cleaned to make it easier to remove the wax or polish residue and decrease the chances of marring the paint. I used the 2nd link and spray QD on all my wax reside areas and easily removed. no more issues. g'luck!
-
NP MH... I agree may as well leave em on... I am not having any issues with the looks of mine above the 'be careful when waxing'. I got the little boars hair detailing brush and some QD takes care of those pesky wax residue spots in my molding and emblems. But Funny how different things can bug different people. I did like the look of the tinted tailights in the black car pix though! cheers

Again I have not done it, BUT saw how to from people that did it from here: http://clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363613issues . some pix's and issues with removal of glue, read em all I suggest!

NP and welcome to the club! This is why these boards are gr8, a lot of people are mislead with the salesman, and (I am techie too) I remember showing the salesman how to do some things (i never saw the system or used it before test drives) on the nav. That is good to know. I thought that it was strange that you could not voice activate the radio and climate as well as Nav but that is what the salesman told me. They were pretty busy and the only other demo I guess they would allow you to drive that had nav was out on a test drive by another prospect and I didn't push the issue. I plan to get the Ultra Lux model with Nav, ML, etc. I am a techno gadget guru, what can I say. That

Brandon: I think you were given bad info by whoever was with you in your ES test drive. It is a shame some sales reps DO NOT know the tech pieces of the product they are selling! First: Voice activation is not only for the stereo, (I speak concerning the ES 350 with ultra lux package, Mark Levinson stereo and nav) -I do not think the voice activation is cut down in the lower packages-hopefully a 350 owner without Lux and NAV can respond ). you press voice act button than can say temperature 70 degrees, and bingo both front climates go to 70 degrees, and it works for audio too (phone and music) I rarely use voice activation though easier to press buttons on the steering wheel or screen. some features are 'greyed out' when driving and you have to either pull over or use the voice activation. correct on hard drive though with 6 cd's, and ipod connector (other mp3 players too) in the console, and the ability to play MP3 data files (massive storage when saving mp3's in native data file) a hard drive is not needed IMHO. I rather just keep my ipod up to date! You are spot on with the oil change rip-off, some in this thread go to Toyota for same parts service and pay half price. I had nissan stanza, nissan maxima for 18 years (both new to 9-10 years) and the experience was gr8, but On the Maxima i ran into some heavy repair/Maint. bills. cheers

Ok u know we are mostly tainted here. :P Background: I bought mine end March Obsidian Black on Black, UL package, ML stereo with nav, etc. I was looking at Infiniti's, Volvo s80, others, and I love my car! My thoughts. You are correct ES350 is a LUXURY car which is very fast going straight. On curves you better slow down (or else the brakes will slow down for u themselves!) Coming from a 99 Maxima Sports edition (could take curves flying in that) I really appreciate the smooth ride. Like wearing comfortable slippers. You will have rougher ride (feel more bumps) in sportier cars, but they will handle curves better. It is bigger than the g35. I am over 6 1"-wide shoulders etc. I just did not fit right in the G35 or 37 so it was not a consideration (I looked at the M35's) A neighbor of mine went from 2 Lexus to 2 G35s (white is his wifes, black is his), he is going back to lexus (Leases 3 year's) at the end of the lease. simply said he feels Lexus is a better overall luxury car and made better. Another note: why not the G37 those look much hotter IMHO than the 35 if that is what you are looking for. Also, if you want away from 350 Lux-comfort and more for sport you should consider the Lexus IS (think that would be better compare for the g35). good luck and let us know what you buy! :)

But, you all have to take responsibility for yourselves here!!!! :) But ddoc and SW03 got us all hooked if you ask me. I should have bought stock in Autopia or Pashak!!!! <_< Oh well! Keep up the great post. Hey SW03ES monitor...is this the best post going or what!!! Whew, who would have thunk!!!! -

Cleaning And Maintenance Of New Es350

u r da man... of course i would never clay without polishing (and with machine) DDOC law #52 or so... I put together a 50 page word doc (and my super spreadsheet) with a lot of info from u and this thread. some off autopia etc. I just figured to buy some supplies now, and now I am getting itchy to get flex sooner than the fall to kill the scratches. wanted to wait for after the road work (one month late) starting this week. Should take 3-5 months. But I am thinking polish now eradicate scratches and if i get some due to all the work, polish again 5-6 months later. so as I am also ordering new apple IMAC (family computer replacement had it with windows ) and IPOD. I am thinking maybe to wait on flex another month or 2. But with it staring at me, the 3 polishes staring at me day after day ...i will crack i am sure!! thanks again... sensei DDOC Haha! It happens to me all the time. My only recommendation is, do not clay until you are ready to polish with the Flex, as claying will definitely induce marring. -

arrghh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DDOC: This is a formal request for SW to ban u from posting in this thread. B) Every time you post i place an order with some website. I re-read the posts and decided __IT... I still need to buy the flex and pads, but wanted the 2.99 brush to clean out a speck of wax in my molding, bucks I can swing (3 bux i can do that) than said may as well get more ultima wash (20$) , and heck since i luv the Upgp, invest in the mega bottle(75$ buttt keep me warm at night knowing i have this supply!) then i re-read my saved doc on polishing from this thread and elsewhere, and since i got the 15% summer autopia discount might as well get the polish(10 bux each bottle) , but ppp (30$) might do the job if not, good to have for the future (plus i need to do wifes truck too) so get all 3 and add in the magic clay lube.($$ who cares at this point--must have product!) I also revisited the camaro u posted made me press the order key. Item Unit Price Qty. Cost Crack & Crevice Detail Brush [remove] $2.99 $2.99need to do my wifes truck) Ultima Paint Guard Wash [remove] $20.00 $20.00 Ultima Paint Guard Plus, 12 oz. Cleaning And Maintenance Of New Es350

I have tried all ways..Wax over PGP, just wax, just PGP. To be honest the difference is like comparing two of the worlds best wines. They are both great. the wax adds a little more depth, stealing ddoc words there) but i think the upgp adds more reflective glass shine. Since garaging i found my wax lasting much better (PGP too), than when I had it outside 24 x7 (pollen season was terrible and it rained for like 40 out of 60 days it seemed. The UPGP held up much better than wax. constant hosing down rewashing etc. And sun on the black is a heat maker to bake! Note : I did buy the older version wax (P21S) versus the newer P21S100% which DDOC told is better and lasts longer. Still the P21S is by far the best carnuba i ever used (meguire, mothers others). Goes on like butter and never an issue to get off. I started putting P21S carnuba on rims, I have not had to use my P21S wheel cleaner since (over 2 months), ~85% less brake dust sticking and I just clean off with left over car wash and EZ brush. I will continue to use both and will always have a carnuba wax (might try 100% or pinnacle next) but if I had to chose the shine and ease of application. UPGP is my #1. Let us know in this thread when you use PGP, your thoughts. cheers -

Agreed... amazed at how easy the wax went on and off. no arm aches from hand buffing. but UPGP is the champ in my book can do whole car in like 5 -7 mins... maybe quicker if you booked. Seems to last longer than wax too. cheers -

Hey JE--silver ES is looking fine fine fine. I have a ton of scratches and will be buying a flex to polish out in a few months,) with p21 carnuba 110%, upgp+ they add a gr8 gr8 shine. scratches hidden a lot and car still shines I wash (every week, 2 x when pollen was out and car was outside--since in garage 1x a week) I have used like 20% of the small bottle using 7X over 13 weeks or so. Most 1 coat, 2 coats once and 3 coats two times. I just wash, dry, wax wheel rims 1 x a month (really helps keep dust brake minimal) than do upgp. (have also used p21 than upgp over it) I also do wax (carnuba p21 100% 2 X) and sometimes just wash than quik detail spray from ultima (course a bunch other stuff inside, drying outside wheels ouside etc) cheers -

if u see that gr8 shine u did fine! Prime with 2-3 sprays and reapply only when i see it drying up upon application. I do not count how much, but I can say since putting car in garage and applying when it is not in sun..It goes further. (black in sun yah gets hot) I also sometime just do one coat to give her a shine after a wash. cheers It came out great! I just think I might have not done enough. How much did you put on the applicator that caused you to have the streaks?
